I booked a "child haircut" online for my 12 year old, because you know, she's a child...the salon called me stating they had a cancelation and asked if we could come early. Sure let me rearrange my life, no problem. We got there and I was greeted by a woman who I think is the owner asking if the cut was for "her" pointing to my daughter. And then asking how old she was. When I said 12 she got super rude telling me they couldn't give her the child pricing...ok whatever I don't care about the money. Then she continued saying you know it's usually 10 and younger for child cuts "because they have all this hair at her age". Ok, but no where on the website does it specify this information...anywhere. Her response was "it's too hard to add that information". Seems like you could easily add it in the description of the child cut but what do I know. Then they took my kid back without ever asking my opinion on what we were doing with her hair. Never asked how much they should cut, just got after it letting the 12 y/o go rogue and make the all the decisions. I guess this makes sense since she's not a "child" after all. So 25 minutes, 1.5 inches, and a couple of curls later, we were done and home before our original appointment time. Seems like a "child" kind of cut to me but whatevs. Would I go back? Sure, because my daughter likes it there and she really seems to like Katie and it's close to home. Will I be welcomed back, unlikely based on the way I was treated today and because I'm leaving an honest review that isn't 5 stars. Seems like their "be kind" mantra was lacking today. The one thing they did offer was to "dry cut" her hair for a discount....uhhhh no thanks. Again, not about the money, it had everything to do with the way this woman approached me. I felt like I was attacked the minute we walked in the door and was super uncomfortable being there after that. So I guess next time I'll wait in the car since I wasn't part of any of the decision making anyway. All of this could have easily been avoided if somewhere on the website they define the age for their "child haircut".

Alyssa at the uptown location did an absolutely phenomenal job!!! I let her do what she felt would look the best with my face and skin tone and I am shocked how good my hair turned out. My new stylist from here on out!! So so so happy with how my hair turned out!Services: Balayage

Great experience! BeKIND was beautiful, homey and clean. All the ladies were kind and inviting too. I felt very comfortable! Katie did awsome on my hair! She listened to my needs and did such a thorough job.

I went to buy a gift card for my wife. Not a single person offered to help or even acknowledged that I was there. I just stood around awkwardly for several minutes before I got frustrated and left. I get that they are busy but a simple " I'll be right with you" would have been enough. I even tried calling while I was there, it went straight to voicemail which said there is a high call volume. I would rather give my money to a business that is more welcoming and at least makes an effort to earn my business.

I am loving the color I had done here! This salon is amazing and the workers are great!! I had the same person do my hair for 10 years so going somewhere new was scary and overwhelming. I am so. Wry pleased with my hair and the way it turned out!

I loved this salon it's definitely going to continue recieving my business. The staff was super chill and very professional. Anna Rose did an amazing job on my haircut and wax. Also the salon was very comfortable and relaxed environment with refreshments provided.

I wish I'd found this place ages ago. It's such a great atmosphere, for one--you can sense it when you walk in. I hadn't had my hair cut in over two years because of Covid (turns out they would have accommodated my inability to wear a mask), and in that time the texture of my hair changed a lot. Curls galore. Anna Rose did a great job giving me a new "do" the first visit then new color the second visit a few weeks later. I like that they are environmentally kind too.

I love being free in myself at the salon and not being charged based on gender but based on what I want. It always turns out great and I love the down to earth conversation i have with the stylists. I feel as if I can say and do whatever I want and truly be myself and get an amazing haircut and experience. 10/10 would recommend. ❤️Services: Curly hair

Katie is an amazing stylist and gave me the perfect dye smudge!! She listened to all of my hopes and needs for my hair and took a specific approach that would work for me! She did an incredible job. She is someone I trust wholeheartedly with my hair going forward and someone I also find to be wonderful to talk with and know!! Bekind is my go-to salon now!! Couldn't recommend them enough!!

Cannot recommend this salon. Unfortunately “Be Kind” doesn’t seem to be the actual way they do business. The owner does not respond to customer follow up calls or texts and a newer employee who I saw three times and brought the same picture and talked to for an hour (yes an hour) each time before coloring and foiling and it was disastrous results. I also did not appreciate the stylists profanity and slang and unprofessional treatment.I left the salon after 7 hours a week before my wedding and washed the color out as best as I could at home. I poured vinegar and lemon juice and Dawn dish soap and tried to be in the sun. Not exactly what you want to do ever, let alone right before your wedding. No accommodations on my simple request to just come in after for conditioning and repair treatments and a haircut. I always support small businesses when I can but clearly the White Bear Lake BeKind does not value my business.Service: Hair coloring

Never got my hair done here. Arrived 17min early to my appointment (9:43am) their door states they're open at 9am..doors are locked and lights are off. I get a text from my stylist that I'm supposed to meet for the first time ever that they are running a few min late but shouldn't be much longer. I wait until 15min past my appointment time, I've now waited 30min for my appointment and they are no where to be seen. I left and rescheduled at Revive Salon in White Bear. Definitely disappointed that this happened as I was very much looking forward to a change.
