Allina across the board has their own limited process of diagnosing illnesses... Instead of being open to possibilities of a specific disease... They aren't willing to go outside of their strict narrow-minded policies... Now I need to shop around AGAIN for someone who actually listens to me & treats me appropriately based on my obvious symptoms. Very frustrating.
Dr of Rheumatology Garces specifically VERY condescending & disregarding of my symptoms & treatment...
I have officially filed a complaint...

I have nothing but great care from the docters & other staff at Allina Health facilities. Because of the qualty of care it has kept me from moving out of state. I need good medical & mental health care which Allina provides.

I really respect Dr Katz. I have taken my husband and my Mother in for Consults. MY only complaint is Allinas new partnership with Quest Diagnostics. All of the old Lab techs are gone. The new system requires the Techs to go over your insurance, and sign off on labs. I had blood work and urine analysis. When I gave my urine sample, I opened the "door" and there were TWO other samples in there!! Does this not Violate HIPPA??? Not impressed with this New system. Not to mention, I had to make a separate appt, at least two days prior, so my results would be done to consult about. This has been my clinic for years, and I'm reconsidering due to this.

Dr Schoonover did not read my chart or review my recent ultra sound or even know what dose of med I was on. He was not prepared to discuss and seemed uninterested. He did however make sure that he told me I do not need to see him annually, or every two years or even ten years. How about never.

Dr Fischer was kind, compassionate, and listened to my concerns. I left with a treatment plan and when I should follow up with him again.

He is a professional, kind a really good communicator. He not only saw me on time but he saw me approximately 25 minutes earlier. It took him about twenty minutes to complete the procedure

My Diabetic Doctor and my Lung Doctor are both here. It is the best place to go for either of those issues in my opinion.

My care mindset is integrative health whereas the doctor has a more traditional mindset. I prefer natural approaches to care with medication as a last resort whereas the doctor appears to go from DEXA score to recommending medication with nothing in between such as testing. I had received the Reclast infusion for this past year and this brought on considerable chronic pain and other side effects that I identified in an email prior to my consultation appointment. The doctor said that there were no side effects. Although the doctor most emphatically declared that he worked for me as the patient, he did not take into consideration what I had shared with him or answer my questions. An example of a question I asked was how fracture risk was calculated since it did not show up on the DEXA. This was considered not the right question to ask. Yet the concern about fracture risk was the primary rationale for the Reclast infusion in the first place and a 70% reduction in fracture risk .considered a primary benefit of this drug.. The doctor claimed indignantly that if I did not accept the second Reclast infusion he recommended I would certainly get worse and worse and that I did not require more DEXA scans in the future to establish that. I have learned recently that there is a new ultrasound technology (REMS) that does calculate fracture risk that can be used in conjunction with DEXA which measures bone density. Sharing information about alternative medications with the risks and benefits would be an improvement. Compassion for the patient who has endured chronic pain with the medication would be welcome along with efforts to discover why this is. My consultation closed with a sense of some mutual understanding and good will toward all.

Dr. Katz is most definitely one of the most caring Doctors that I have ever seen. He did not seem rushed, and he made me feel completely comfortable discussing my health history with him. The front desk staff and nurses were very kind as well. What a great facility all around!
