I switched from a locally run national propane supplier charging exorbitant prices and bogus fees to this family owned local company. Everyone was friendly and helpful. They switched out the tanks at no charge and Chuck did a great job. Very conscientious and considerate. They offered a fair price on propane which is in line with the current price listed at the US Energy Information Administration and they don't charge extra fees like hazmat and handling charges. 35% lower cost and great customer service from friendly folks who live in the neighborhood. I'm glad I made the switch.

Was told a lawyer now owns company. Read the fine print which seems to now change. I terminated my contract for leasing due to these changes, paid final bill and then received a bill for restocking their own equipment. Their lease fees are outrageous, the gas is higher now, nickle and dime you with other fees. I lost money changing suppliers, but well worth it. Now no extra fees and cheaper gas. This is how you lose customers, and will be informing everyone in my area. Caywood can deny this all they want, but yes I am no longer their customer. They do charge for restocking fees and keep all the gas in tank when discontinuing.

I wouldn’t recommend Caywood to anyone!!! If I could give them a 0 rating I would! We asked for 125 gallons they said no problem (never told us there was a 150 gallon minimum). We received 177!!! They never wrote on the invoice that we requested 125. First they tried to blame it on the driver. When I told them that they didn’t write it on the invoice the office lady got quiet. I told her to call me the next day with a resolution. Long story short we had to pay the overage at $4.xx per gallon!!! They didn’t try to make it right in any way that was reasonable. They offered $7.00 off our bill (not even 2 gallons of fuel oil!) So we paid the extra $230 (we got a late notice in the mail as we originally paid for 150 gallons at full price and figured that was reasonable to settle this, that was not the case) and we are now switching to a different company!! Don’t let them overfill you and then make you pay for it WHEN IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE!!!!!!

This place is terrible would never use these guys unless forced to. They like to forget that you paid for propane and never bring it to you so you can run out then get charged for it running out. Happened 3 times in 1 winter. Great place NOT!!

Our experience here has been excellent. Sarah Caywood has been more than helpful on many occasions. She cares about her business and goes above and beyond to make sure people are taken of. Also enjoyed the kind and helpful driver Tom. Glad we have a relationship with Caywood oil.

Somehow my original review disappeared from here. I'm posting it again because I had a horrible experience. I purchased from them for 5 years. Always paid on time in full. We were going through a stretch of temps in the -30's, I realized my tank was low, turned my thermostat down and called. They always asked me how much was left in my tank and it was about 1/8, but I had space heaters, asked when they would be able to make it out and the lady on the phone was incredibly rude. Told me there would be a fee if I needed it sooner, and it could take up to 5 business days, this was a Thursday before a holiday weekend so we are talking a week with -30 temps. I told her I didn't need emergency service, just thought maybe the route would be in my area (in the past they added me because it was more convenient for them and I got fuel oil the next day). She told me "it's not our fault your tank is low" "if we did that for you we would have to do it for everybody" At this point I informed her I would be going through another company and she was flippant, como was able to set me up an account and deliver by the next day. No charge at all. I would heat my house with 100 space heaters rather than purchase through this company again. You are only as good as your customer service reps. That employee is incredibly rude and disrespectful, if she still works there she really shouldn't.

Updated Review:
After posting this, my husband and I received a phone call from the manager. She was VERY kind and apologized. We have decided to stay with Caywood.
Original post: WORST customer service we have ever experienced. Very rude, short and judgmental. I cannot imagine ever treating another person this way. We are looking to get propane from another company right away. Horrible service. Do not go here!

Literally just talked to the rudest lady on the phone. Seemed like a major bother and was extremely unhelpful. Immediately started my search for an alternate company.
Update: Spoke with Sarah Caywood and she was very friendly and apologetic for conversation earlier. Still rubbed the wrong way by other associate, but Sarah was nice enough to give them another shot
