We love Suburban Animal Hospital! We have brought our German Shepherd here for over a year after some health issues were not treated appropriately at another vet. Dr. Lewis was very thorough and helped get her the correct treatment. We also received compassionate and loving care when our cat passed away last year which I am forever grateful for. The staff are very friendly, and Dr. Lewis is always so comprehensive in addressing our questions. I never feel rushed during appointments, and always feel that the plan and recommendations are well-explained. You can tell that the staff are truly animal lovers!

We LOVE Dr. Kurtz. She is our favorite, by far, and I know she loves our pets as much as we do. Will never go elsewhere, so please don't ever leave, Dr. Kurtz!

The staff is super friendly and easy to talk to! They took care of my poor betty when she wasn't feeling well and the effort from their team was at a higher standard than my typical vet... They are life savers! (Literally) Plus the manager is super cool :D

Separate waiting areas for dogs and cats. Owner option to be present with pet in exam room or not. Call ahead food, medicine orders streamline the process; scale is the exam table itself. Friendly proficient staff.

So far, so great! This was my first time going to a new vet in 8 years, and I was pleasantly impressed by the genuine attitudes of all the staff I met. Dr Kurtz had a patient and careful demeanor with my cat who can be very nervous and skidish around new people. She spoke with knowledge, and I felt like my cat was in very good hands. This is my new place and it's location is very easy to get to.

I've been going to this vet for years now with several different pets. The techs and Dr.Lewis have always been very knowledgeable and respectful of my time. I can tell that they genuinely care about the health of my pets and make each vet visit a positive one for every pet I bring in.

TL/DR: Long term patient, Dr. accused me of swearing at a vet tech. I'm confident in all my 50 years I haven't sworn at anyone.We've been coming to Suburban for nearly 10 years. Today I was 4 minutes late and told I could not enter the exam room because "it would go faster that way since [I] was late." Ug. fine.I spent about 5 minutes with the front desk gal updating our records in the system (again???) I asked about that, but it seemed to be a sore subject... movin on....I sat waiting for about 10 minutes - perhaps they themselves were running behind (which makes this 5-minute rule even more ridiculous) when a vet tech came to get my dog for his exam. I politely asked if I could accompany him as I wanted to ask Dr. Lewis about his lip and show her exactly what I was referring to. I was told that since I was late, the policy was to not allow me in the exam room. I said "alright, just take him then" and sat back down.A minute later Dr. Lewis came into the waiting room and exclaimed "I was just told you swore at my tech?!" I was absolutely dumbfounded. Of course I did not swear at anyone! I may have seemed frustrated when I said "just take him them" but absolutely did not curse at anyone! It's not even in my vernacular.When I said I absolutely did not swear at anyone she said "Then what DID you say." I don't even know what she said after that - I couldn't even believe what just happened and what I was accused of, I just asked to take my dog out of there. I'm still dumbfounded. DISBELIEF.NEVER AGAIN - don't leave your babies with this unstable group

I love this vet practice! We got two puppies during Covid and started taking them here. Their system of curbside service was exceptional! The vet techs were always caring and nice and fun when picking up my puppies from the car. I got a call from the vet with a report on how my pups were doing. Now I have the same service for our in-person visits. Nice, caring vet techs and kind, smart vets - a great combo!

I took both of my dogs here this past summer on a hunt for a new clinic and needed their vaccines updated asap for boarding and travel purposes. I was previously through Banfield and was entirely unsatisfied. Suburban hospital was able to get me in within a couple days. My second visit was a very sad appointment as I was fairly certain I'd have to euthanize my dog. I met with Dr. Kurtz who explained options and was realistic, honest and compassionate about next steps and end of life choice. I was allowed to stay with my dog for as much times as needed after she passed. I'm truly grateful for Dr. Kurtz and especially her assistant that day. I also have to say prices are much more reasonable then other clinics I've experienced. Very thankful I found them.

Suburban Animal Hospital cared for our handsome pup for over 10 years and were the most loving and kind place to turn when it was time to say goodbye. Dr. Lewis and Dr. Kurtz always showed lots of love to our handsome boy, answered all the questions we had, and provided personal touches to their care that made us feel like we weren’t just another patient. Highly recommend Suburban Animal Hospital!
