I love St Francis Animal Hospital. I have 2 cats and 1 dog and have been a client since 2017. They literally go above and beyond when taking care of your animals. They are always super friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely thorough. I don't trust my animals with anyone else!

I just wanted to post a shout-out to the folks at St. Francis for their thoughtful and thorough response to the COVID-19 epidemic. Their communication has been excellent and their measures thorough, and they have implemented an evolving plan to keep staff and customers -- both human and animal -- safe and cared-for during this health emergency. THANK YOU, St. Francis, for your skillful and appropriate response.

My wife and I have been patrons of St. Francis for quite some time, and we couldn't be happier with the level of professionalism displayed by the whole of the staff. The treatments and recommendations have undoubtably aided our pets in living healthy lives, and never have we even remotely felt that any procedure or recommendation was done or offered solely for the sake of remuneration. The vets, the technicians and the assistants always take the time to field questions and listen to concerns as they fully understand,as pet owners themselves, that pets are family.

Wow, this is a first. I was told the clinic wasn't accepting new patients. I supposed I should be impressed that they're so successful, but I'm disappointed that I won't be able to bring my fur baby there. Giving them three stars because I don't want to trash their reputation.

I've taken all my birds, cats, pocket pets and dogs here since the late '90s. Dr. Blair, the other doctors, and staff are compassionate, trust worthy and knowledgeable. Over the years, I've had to go through that excruciating process of saying goodbye to all those pets, and I really do feel as if the drs and staff care about my pets. The rescue dog I have now growls/barks at everyone at first, but the staff never make me feel bad or shameful about it. They're quite understanding of my dog's behavioral "challenges" and are still sweet and affectionate to him. And if they're not taking new patients right now, you may want to ask if there's a wait list. It's worth it. This isn't uncommon; I take my dog to another vet office on occasion for his nail trims, and I'm always asked by the other clinic "Are you a current client?" when making an appointment, as they're not taking new clients, either.

After moving to the Roseville area a couple years ago, there was a need to find a new vet for our cat. This was the place we chose and it has only been an exceptional experience! From my first appointment with Kevin, I felt that him and his team really cared for my cat. Kevin was able to diagnose my cat with a UTI, went through her past medical history and we were able to help my cat feel well again. Since there were no appointments open with Kevin on the day I was available this week, there was a need to see another vet. Katie was absolutely fantastic and took the time to go through any questions or concerns I had! Honestly, I would recommend both Kevin and Katie after these visits The whole team at this place is amazing and caring. My cat is a senior and I'm thankful for a place that'll be there for us through these last years. Highly recommend!

Dr. Roeser is the most thoughtful & compassionate veterinarian I have ever met. So thankful for his high skill level of both kindness and care.

The previous kitties I wrote about have gone. We have new shelter cats plus one we adopted from a high school friend's daughter. One of the shelter cats got her tail closed in a door recently. We saw Dr. Roeser, and he had a perfect cat-side manner when diagnosing our Daisy with a broken tail and lacerations. I just brought her in for a follow-up and suture removal, and he was very patient and loving with the cat. Daisy is recovering nicely, and I have nothing but praise for Dr. Roeser, his professionalism, and his cat-side manner.

Dr. Roeser's care for all our dogs, from puppies to adults, rescues, and fosters has always been with the utmost love , care and nurturing. It is no wonder that he chose to work at a place called St. Francis whom had the highest love and regard towards Animals.

Happily, we discovered this veterinary hospital via another vet hospital! Staff was super friendly and helpful. We went in for a wellness check on our bunny, and also have a parrot. I am glad to know I have better options for exotic pets. What a relief!

Hi, I had been taking my 2 dogs and Cockateil to St.Francis for at Least 15 years. My Whippet and Poodle were pretty healthy dogs and passed of old age with out any great illness...10 and 11 years ago. The Cockateil had preening issues, but she lived to be 17 years old. In March of 2008 I adopted Sasha, another rescue dog of Terrier mix. Last May 5th, 2017 I was concerned about Sasha and her long peeing issues. We were in and out of St. Francis 6 times during a 7 month time frame with this issue. She had urine cultures done, blood panels, Dr. Cartledge told me she also did an ultra sound. At one point she was given pills for a urinary tract infection. Every month Sasha was losing weight. She only weighed 16 pounds and was now down to 13 pounds. She had blood in her urine, she would have very soft stools. I would ask...What is wrong, what does she have, no one could answer me, no one. We were at St. Francis 6 times in 7 months for tests and repeat tests. Our last visit with Dr.Cartledge she mentioned that the last blood test showed Sasha was ill with something...but she didn't know what. We could do another ultra sound or maybe an X-ray. At this point we had spent about $800....a lot of money for us. I decided to spend money on a Second opinion before spending money for an X-ray. After my FIRST visit with the second Vet..he told me Sasha had been sick for a Very long time...long before she started with long urinations. Sasha had an severe Yeast infection and her little body was over run with Giardia. The second Vet said it was up to me...but that if I wanted to try to get her healthy again it would be a long haul with no guarantees. Of course I choose to try to get her back to health but it was basically too late. She died February 2nd, 2018....less than 3 months after her last visit to St.Francis. (Please note Dr. Knep was also Sasha's vet for most of her visits at St. Francis.) I feel that Sasha could still be here today if St.Francis vets were less concerned about Sasha's teeth cleaning (which we could not afford) and simply checked for a yeast infection and more importantly checked for the Giardia. (Guardia is not a rare disease in dogs, cats or people) The people at St. Francis are friendly but that doesn't help a sick animal. Medical knowledge and expertise takes many many years. During one of the exams (with my second opinion Vet not from St.francis) he released Sasha's bladder for a urine sample with his hand. At St. Francis they would always stick a needle in her bladder to draw out urine. I hated this procedure and said so. St.F told me it was the best way to get a clean sample. Well...not so.

Took my newly adopted 3-year-old kitty to St. Francis for a checkup. Staff was very friendly while making my appointment and during check in, and Dr. Katie was kind and gentle with my cat. Test results were delivered quickly. I'm glad to make St. F my new vet clinic!
