I purchased a new machine and was told I would receive lessons and a discount on accessories. I got neither. I've mentioned 3 times that I didn't receive lessons and was told to use the instructions on the screen of the machine. It's frustrating to spend more time trying to get the machine to operate properly instead of actually sewing. I will find a dealer who cares about their customers and will not return to Quilter's Haven. I bought accessories online.

Jean is an absolute joy. She can talk to you knowledgeably about piecing, machine quilting, garment construction, alterations and machine embroidery. She always goes the extra mile to help her customers. Her shop is so well stocked and organized and full of beautiful fabrics, notions and sewing aids. I drive past two other Bernina dealers in order to do business with her. That ought to tell you how good she is.

Fantastic selection of quilting fabrics, yes but they also have high quality fabrics for garments and other projects. Their kind and helpful staff make my 90 mile round trip worth every mile.

My experience wasn’t in the store. It was a phone call to inquire about classes. I was talked down to, told I wouldn’t qualify for the current quilt class offerings and was treated very rudely. I used to stop in to this shop whenever I was heading west on co rd 42, now I don’t go in there anymore. I felt when I went there that there was a small close knit group that took classes together and sewed together and weren’t interested in new people!

I had a similar experience as another reviewer - walked in the shop hoping to match some fabric and was totally ignored. All the staff were standing at the front desk talking - not one of them greeted me or asked to help. I finally just walked out of the store without finding any fabric and haven't been back since. Like the other reviewer said, it's a loss for them because I'm also a fabric junkie!

I privately purchased a used Activia Bernina sewing machine for use while traveling. I’ve been very happy with the machine however I took it to Quilter’s Haven to have a Free Hand System presser foot lifter added to it. Floyd was able to get it installed before we left on our trip to Utah to visit family. While in Utah, I was sewing and discovered the bobbin winder would not work. It had previously worked perfectly. I called Quilter’s Haven and left a message but after several hours had not heard back from them. I ended up taking my machine into a Bernina dealer in Salt Lake City. Despite them having a 2 1/2 week back up on machine repairs, they took a look at my machine. Upon taking the cover off, they found the bobbin winder was incorrectly plugged in as well as other wiring being left very close to the motor. They were very concerned about the previous work I had done on the machine and told me the machine could have very easily been completely ruined with the wiring so close to the motor . They had my machine ready to go within 10 minutes of me stepping foot in the store. I am very thankful they found the errors. I did call Quilter's Haven back to let them know, thinking they would want to refund me. I was disappointed they didn’t make any attempt to make things right. I have loved shopping at Quilter’s Haven in the past however I would never recommend taking any machine to them for any maintenance.
