I see a lot of bad reviews for pet grooming. I don't know anything about that, but I came in last night for some cat food and really had a great experience. The salesperson who helped me was Tyler. He was fantastic! He showed me all sorts of cat foods that might work for my cat and explained differences between the various brands. I really appreciated the time he took with me. So far, my cat likes what we bought. I will be back for the great selection and knowledgeable sales staff. Thank you Tyler!

Terrible experience. Brought 71lb dog in to groomer appt, just for a wash and nail trim. Listed him as a large...we were sent home because the groomer said he was too large. What a joke. Employee needs an attitude adjustment. Happy to bring my business elsewhere - avoid this location.

Petco North grooming is terrible. I drove a long way to make my prescheduled appointment with my 63 pound German Shepherd, and when I walked in the door the kid at the desk doesn't say "hello," "good afternoon," or anything. Just..."how much does your dog weigh." When I told her she said, "sorry, because you stated in our database that she's a medium dog we don't have time to take her today." This, after planning my day around this appt. and driving clear across town to get there. The unfair thing is that when we registered our dog in their system she WAS a medium dog, but she's grown, as German Shepherd puppies are well-known to do! But their system does not account for this, and we don't recall being asked to update her size when we made the appt. The manager, Vicky, said they couldn't take her because "large dogs take two hours longer than medium dogs." Really??? The cut-off from a medium dog to a large dog is 50 lbs. in their system, so since my dog is 63 pounds the additional 13 lbs adds 2 hours of work? Really??? The truth is they were under staffed today (even though our appointment was made days ago) and they didn't want to do the work (no difference to the groomers; paid the same either way, probably). Canceling my dog's appointment, and blowing me off, lightened their workload for the day. Good riddance, Petco. We've been bringing our GS to Petco for grooming about 6 times a year. At $100 per visit, do the math. You just lost a valuable customer.

I took my dog comet in (golden retriever) for their full service groom. His appointment was at 10 am. I called at 1245 as they had not contacted me. I decided to go to the store at that point. When I walked in they were cutting his hair. When I talked to the groomer she was very short with me and told me well this is how long it takes and he needed to air dry. The North Petco is the worst pet store I have ever been to . The employees are extremely rude and the store is a mess and never organized. The grooming area gives you a time frame that your dogs haircut will take and when you come back at that said time and all they have done is a bath it's ridiculous What's the point in making a appointment. I would never recommend them to anyone.

Britteny the groomer got me in at the last minute for a nail trim/buff. Excellent customer service!! I would definitely go back!!

The store is well stocked, but I worry about the animals kept here. While in today, I saw a hamster who may have had some kind of medical issue around his tail, the ferret area was COVERED in p*** like it hadn't been cleaned in days, and their ball pythons had incredibly low humidity(as they usually do when I find them here) at 30%. Being a ball python owner myself, I always feel bad for these guys because they are stuck in a small area together(a no no), improper hides, and terrible humidity. It should be at 60% minimum. I'm giving away least two stars because the staff is friendly and I've always found what I needed, but to be honest I'll be trying to find a different shop for my needs. Thank God I'm coming here for dead animals.

We were here today with our dog. While the store was a little dirty, the staff were so friendly. They took the time to talk to us about our dog and even got down on the floor to pet him. Prices are similar to other pet stores although the selection seemed less. Overall we found what we needed and had a good experience.

They sell sick and diseased animals. They don't actually care about the animals they are selling.
