The south petco has the saddest fish section in southeast mn. Every tank is dirty and so many dead or beaten up fish. Then 1 mile south petsmart had clean healthy tanks.

We love taking the dogs to this location for the self baths. It's actually been awhile because of Covid, etc. But we were excited to bring our rescue English Bulldog in for the self bath on 4.23.22. The attendant in the in grooming area (Britteny is on the receipt) talked to us right away. She had to put a basket together for us but were out of smocks. No big deal. But, all 3 bath spots had obviously been used and not cleaned up. We went to the cleaner of the 3 spots and bathed our dog. Didn't see her again until we were walking the store and saw her chatting with someone in the middle of the store. A garbage needs to be put in the locations. Someone cleaned up a dogs pee and through the paper towel on the floor in the bath area. Earlier, the same person grabbed a wet, used bath towel to clean up the dog pee and put it back. There needs to be someone in attendance to keep these up. We'll be back, but we'll be inspecting the area first.

Disappointed by customer service today in grooming department. Tried to drop dog off earlier today for him to be available for his grooming appointment at 2pm and was told that we were not allowed to drop the dog off that early and that we had to bring him home and come back later. This caused my husband to have to drive back home our of town to bring the dog back home and then be late for work. Then I had to try to get off early from my job to get the dog there by the 2pm appointment. Arrived at 217pm and was greeted at the grooming counter by a groomer who was sitting on a stool and leaning against the wall and looking disinterested in working and was told that there is a 15min cut off time and that she wouldn't accept the dog at 217 as it was 2 mins past the 15 min cut off time. This is a small less than 10lb dog that is relatively clean and doesn't take a significant time to groom. I explained to her our struggles with trying to drop the dog off earlier and that it caused both of us issues with our work....but she wouldn't budge on the 15min policy. Felt very disappointed today. Wish she would have considered the whole situation. She said something to the effect of, "well Wish it was me earlier because I would have let you drop him off earlier before." I told her that this was my only reason for having to drive into town as we live out of town.....but no budge on the 2 mins over policy. Disappointed. Usually the service is pretty good here and we have taken our 2 dogs here for a few years. The only thing she said she could do was offer me a rescheduled appointment in another 7 days. Sad :(

Went into this Petco looking for a hide for a bearded dragon. Could not find one big enough which wasn't why I gave a bad review. When looking at the bearded dragons multiple had their toes rotting off from lack of nutrition. They were on carpet instead of sand which is good but there is no reason why almost all of the bearded dragons were missing toes if proper care was done to them. One also looked like it had Metabolic bone disease. Very sad to see.

I used to take my dog to Linda at the north store. My dog had an appointment that had been scheduled 3 months in advance. I got there with my dog for his appointment and they said "Oh Linda is no longer with us and she deleted all of her appointments." How can this happen? How does someone have the capability of just wiping out clients? So then I agreed to have him cut by another groomer. She was so twitchy and high-strung that it made my dog nervous. She did an "ok" job but certainly wasn't wonderful. I went ahead and made another appointment for my dog to see her 3 months later. Again, we showed up for the appointment, which was on a Monday. The grooming area was completely closed and there was a sign on the door that said "Grooming closed on Mondays." No one called. No one rescheduled,etc. I even showed them the paper that was from the groomer with the date and time on it and they said "oh well, guess we forgot to call our Monday appointments." Seriously? Talk about a sh*t show! I was absolutely disgusted and have never stepped foot in there again.

If you are looking at fish, saltwater specifically this is the better of the two stores. I just wish they had more selection. The hobby is taking off and internet sales are booming, the pet manager should try and stay in touch with the popular breeds of fish. They have some stuff that won't sell because of how big or aggressive the breed can be.

First time bringing my dog in for a wash, cut, and nail grinding and was very impressed. Amanda was the groomer that took care of my dog and she was great. She greeted him in a way that he really enjoyed and responded to - he's normally a very active and friendly guy so she brought the right intensity to match.

Have been in twice in two weeks and was told they were out of crickets, also I was told I should come on Fridays. I over heard the one check out person saying to the other check out person that they were holding all of them for someone and not to give me any. Seriously... I have buying them there since store opened at south Rochester location. I am now back to Petsmart south for not only my crickets but all my dogs supplies now also.
