I visited because my battery died a few times. Decided to get the brakes checked, get an oil change, and a transmission flush. They checked the battery, said it was fine. Then said the brakes and rotors needed replacing, but they weren't comfortable doing the transmission flush - too complicated for them. OK, fine. $620 for two back rotors, pads, and an oil change. Seemed high, but not terrible. Then as I was going to pick up the car, they say the battery died and they'll have to replace that too because it's undrivable. The added price to change the battery: more than $400 dollars. Holy smokes... So I bought a new battery myself for $130 and replaced it in 3 mins. Also the car started fine when I picked it up. Not sure what's going on here, but $400 to replace a battery is robbery. I'm bummed because I was excited to have a shop close to me, but unfortunately I can't trust them anymore. I won't be going back.

I made an appointment to get my lights inspected to due with an issue with my headlights. I walked out spending close to $800 for brakes and an oil change and wasted time waiting for them to try and fix a switch on my steering column only to be told after 3 hours they didn’t have the right part and it had to be ordered and wouldn’t arrive until after I left for my trip. They also missed that I had brake light out and almost left town with. I’m not impressed with this place at all and doubt I will come back. I just gave them 3 stars because my brakes and oil change were fine, although I paid ALOT of money to leave without my car fixed to my expectations. I think they should have been upfront about not having the correct part before doing the other repairs so I could go somewhere else. This isn’t about the money as much as wasted time and missing other details as part of a general inspection and maintenance.

I received an extremely high (in my opinion) estimate on one brake repair for a 2008 jeep. With no lack of interest of doing it from the reception. (started with $500-$ 1,000-1,500$)

John and the guys have always done a great job on all of our vehicles. Would highly recommend. Seeing some of the negative reviews I find highly suspect. John is one of the nicest people around and does his best to accommodate everyone. Unfortunately to many people in this area try to take advantage of this and then get mad when they don't get their way and try to trash him and Car-X for it. I've witnessed this first hand while sitting in the waiting room.

I have taken my truck here 2 times and left with more repairs than when i started. I brought my truck to this Car-x for a heating problem, he replaced my thermostat, gasket, sensor and water pump. No change in my heat, ive actually had to spend more money on fuel because its still running lean and has little to no heat.EDIT Took it to a real car repair place and guess what they are replacing? The leaking water pump that this guy at Car X put in less than a year ago. My original one last 1996 to 2022.I also tried to get him to fix the heat issue i originally brought in for after he replaced the water pump and told me it would be a few days to get back in. Pretty crazy i would have to wait after he didnt complete the repair correctly the first time. Even if they offered a warranty on their repair i would not bring it back.The 2nd time I brought it there for a brake line repair, he fixes and i pick it up. 5 miles down the highway my tire shoots off at 60 mph. The only reason he is getting 1 star is because the mechanic was pleasant and allowed me to view the video tape of my car being worked on. The video does not provide any angle that determines any fault. Mainly because you cant see that side of the car. I am not claiming he did anything to the tire. It is just very interesting that the tire fell off so close to being repaired and in this shop.EDIT what Car X response falls to note is that he said he wanted to buy this truck before I left and the tire shot off.Even worse, he goes and mentions my last name in his response.Good business response.

Title: Terrible Experience at CARx Tire & AutoI recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting CARx Tire & Auto located at 4044 Lakeland Ave N, Robbinsdale, MN 55422, and I must say it was one of the worst experiences with an auto mechanic I have ever had. The level of incompetence and lack of professionalism I encountered was beyond disappointing.Firstly, the customer service at CARx Tire & Auto was abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful right from the moment I entered the shop. It felt as though they were doing me a favor by attending to my vehicle. There was a complete lack of communication and transparency regarding the repairs needed, and I was left in the dark throughout the entire process.Furthermore, the workmanship displayed by the mechanics at CARx Tire & Auto was subpar. Not only did they fail to fix the initial issue with my car, but they also managed to create additional problems. It was evident that they lacked the necessary skills and expertise to properly diagnose and repair vehicles. The quality of the repairs was questionable at best, and I found myself having to take my car to another mechanic to rectify the mistakes made by CARx Tire & Auto.To make matters worse, the pricing at CARx Tire & Auto was exorbitant for the substandard service provided. I feel like I was taken advantage of and charged an unfair amount for the poor quality of workmanship and lackluster customer service.Overall, my experience at CARx Tire & Auto was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I would strongly advise anyone considering using their services to think twice and look for a more reliable and reputable auto mechanic. This establishment falls far short of meeting even the basic standards of professionalism and competence. Save yourself the hassle and avoid CARx Tire & Auto at all costs.
