Cleary Lake Vet has always shown compassion for our dogs, especially the vet techs! Whether we go in for a regular check up, are in need of medical treatment, or if we just had questions or concerns, they always give us all their attention. It is not easy being in this business, and I can only imagine all the emotions they go through daily to care for our pets!

I have been bringing my cat here for 11+ years. Dr. Tate and Christine know my cat well and take the time to go over things so I can understand them. I have also met with other vet techs when I couldn’t get my usual vet and they were also great. I forgot to get a prescription refilled and I called in and they were able to get it pushed through asap so I didn’t run out.

I was hesitant to try a new vet after moving to Prior Lake but finally made the call to Cleary Lake. I was able to make a meet and greet appointment within a week for our Golden Retriever. Everyone on the phone and during our visit was very friendly, our appointment was smooth and convenient. I was worried about getting the bill as our Golden was due for a full vaccine workup, and we needed more heartworm chews, but it was very comparable to our previous vet. We definitely have a new place to go that's friendly and convenient.

We had to bring our black lab puppy, Gunner, in after having him for only about 3 weeks because he started acting very odd. It turns out they will eat ANYTHING!! The staff was very helpful and kind and Gunner liked them also! They took him in and did some tests and found out has a taste for legos! They got him all taken care of and he's a happy puppy once again. Just don't leave any toys or anything around on the floor because they will eat it!!

Cleary Lake has given my dog and me the greatest service we have ever had from a vet clinic. My golden retriever came in with some GI issues. The front desk person greeted us with such joy, and we were seen shortly after by the tech and doctor to discuss the problem my dog was having. They asked me thorough questions about what was going on with my dog. They prescribed us medication for her, and she has been back to her normal self ever since. LOVE THIS PLACE!

We have been going to Cleary Lake Vet for years. They have always been so great with us and our dogs- working us in with more serious issues, and always taking the best care of our pups. The rooms are clean, staff is friendly and goes above and beyond. It’s the only place we trust!

When we first starting going to the vet it was incredible. They were awesome. In the past few years they have started to go downhill. Just like others have posted here recently, they put you in a room and forget about you. Our last visit we waited almost an hour to see the vet. I know there are emergencies but this has happened our last 3 visits. We noticed the vets started leaving. It seemed like they couldn’t keep most vets for more than a few years. The prices have always been high, but for our furry babies, it was worth it, as they got exceptional care. Over the past 20+ years I would estimate that we have spent well over $30,000.00 at this clinic. Currently I have a dog that has been throwing up for 5 days, and they can’t get her in for 3 days. No compassion in the calls or messages, just have to wait. I found this unacceptable. I called another clinic that we have never been to that had better reviews. When we explained our situation, they insisted that this was a medical emergency and got her in within a few hours. We received excellent care from the new vet. Not only that, but they made room for a follow up appointment with the surgeon the next morning. With all the money I have spent at Cleary Lake, they really blew it here. This is why I have found a vet elsewhere. If you care for your dog as much as I do, I recommend skipping this clinic, as the care is no longer up to my standards. I am so saddened to write this, because I used to recommend Cleary lake to everyone. I can no longer in good conscience recommend this clinic to anyone. I will say the one good thing about this clinic is that Dr Tate is very good. That being said, I feel that he is overworked. He comes in the room very late, but you can tall that he has been running his butt off. Often out if breath and sweating the last few times we were there. But unfortunately that is not enough for us to continue at this clinic. I also find it interesting that this place averages 1 review every few months. The day after my negative 1 star review, that all of a sudden 5 people post 5 star reviews to bump them back up. I would seriously question the reviews. Funny how one of the reviews said that the clinic got them in right away, as they were UNABLE to get my dog that was having a medical emergency in for 3 business days. Just a hunch here, but i’m guessing that the positive reviews written within a day of mine are either workers or friends of the clinic. If you really love your fur baby, take them elsewhere.
Update: In response to your response. My dog was doing better, which is why I cancelled the first appointment. My dog then took a turn for the worse. You REFUSED to get my pet in sooner than 3 days out. Another vet agreed that it was a medical emergency. You did not recognize a medical emergency, even though I told you it was a medical emergency. Your failure to recognize this put my dog in danger. You were OK waiting 3 days to see a dog that had been vomiting and having diarrhea for almost a week. You say you care, but will not fit in a dog having a medical emergency. Also, since I left another bad review for another company (which was well deserved), you chose to come online and attack me rather than offering an apology. When you looked at my online reviews, there is only one other non 5 star review that I have left, and it was for the one you mentioned. I am appalled that you actually researched a customer's online posts and then left a public shaming of me on your reply. This is so unprofessional and disgraceful that I am embarrassed for you. I have done nothing other than tell the truth. If this is how you treat customers who leave honest truthful reviews, it makes me wonder how you really treat our pets.

We’ve been taking our dog here for the past 6 years and they could not be more helpful and caring. Our dog even enjoys going, no matter what ailment she has!
