Hy-Vee did the florals for my wedding. The flowers were beautiful, but communication was difficult which resulted in extra costs for myself. At my design consultation I showed the designer a photo of Eiffel tower vases I had and she said they could do them. I then tried to do a floral trial with one of the vases earlier in the year as a test, but communicating this was difficult, and ultimately we paid for a trial that wasn’t complete. I dropped a vase off per the manager’s request, and when I went to pick up the flowers, the lady working the counter didn’t know anything about the vase. We then had to follow up the next day in which we still didn’t really get to see the flowers on the vase. We proceeded to order the arrangements for our wedding day only to have Hy-Vee call me 2 hours before I walked down the aisle to tell me the vases wouldn’t work and they recommended simply setting the flowers on the table. It would have been nice to know this earlier in the year to avoid the extra hundreds of dollars I spent on larger centerpieces which ended up looking a little too big for table centerpieces. Regardless of the communication difficulties, the flowers were beautiful and we received lots of compliments.

Yes, hyvee prices are higher than nearby competitors (this is my main draw back and why I'm rating the store only four stars). However, the store has a much wider selection. Take for example today when I needed a small salmon fillet. I checked at an unspecified nearby grocery store with considerably lower prices, but was unable to find what I needed. Any other day I would have found an alternative to save me the trip to another store, but with a wild adolescent weasel roaming my basement, I was not willing to risk it. Thankfully Hyvee had exactly what I needed-4oz salmon fillets are sold at their seafood counter! (fingers crossed the salmon works. Otherwise I'll need to find another way to lure out the vermin) One things for sure, next time I have to get bait for a wild animal in my house, I'll save myself the time and go to hyvee right away!

The Self checkout is half open, and when you have to checkout the scanners misread the items and it requires one of the workers to assist almost every time it is used. And then it takes somebody to realize what's going on about another minute sometimes two. The whole process is very slow and tedious.

I had to call Hy-Vee three times wondering why the flowers hadn't been delivered. They had the wrong address even though I gave it to them three times. I had sent these flowers as a birthday gift, it was so disappointing when I saw a photo of the flowers. The color combination with the type of flowers did not go well with each other. They did not look beautiful, they looked mediocre. This was a mistake going to Hy-Vee in Oakdale MN.

Wow!!! I have always enjoyed the yummy muffins and cookies from Hy-Vee bakery. Well now I have to share my wonderful experience of ordering a cupcake cake for a baby shower. I was in the store last Thursday to order a cupcake cake for a baby shower on Sunday. The young woman that helped/guided me through the process was knowledgeable, patient and wonderful. I told her my idea of what I was looking for. She took that into consideration and added her great ideas. I was so comfortable leaving the store because she assured me that the cake would work. Today I returned to the store and was soooo elated with the cake. It was just what I wanted. The baby shower honoree and guests were very impressed with the appearance of the cake as well. Not only did the cake look good it tasted good! The chocolate and yellow cupcakes and buttercream frosting used to create the cake were so yummy and flavorful. Thank you Hy-Vee Bakery!!!!!

Hy Vee was wonderful to work with! For my wedding they did all the flowers for the party, a garland for the cross and head table, and eucalyptus for the guest tables. Everything was perfect! They nailed my vision after our consultation. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again!

This is probably the best grocery chain in America. Watch out for the daily deals because those can't be beat. Employees are super friendly and helpful. Looking forward to their further expansion not only in Minnesota, but the rest of the country as well.

The online grocery order pick up area is so unorganized. By the time they get your order to you you could have went in and shopped yourself. I have given then several chances but I am done. Competitor is so organized, quick, simple and a great experience.

HyVee floral at Oakdale was so helpful. They delivered flowers to my friend, but she wasn’t home. They delivered the same flowers the next day to my house and they were brown and frozen. I called HyVee Oakdale and they offered to replace them whenever I wished - so they are coming tomorrow. I know it’s -10 so nothing is perfect in this weather but I appreciate their willingness to do it right. Thank You HyVee!

The take out food area is serving old food, tasteless food. Went to grab a lunch and purchased orange chicken with rice. Rice tasted like it was made last month. The orange chicken had more breading than chicken and wasn't fully cooked. I do not see myself grabbing food from the take out area anymore.
