Causeway on Gull is a superb resort with all the amenities one would expect, including a hot tub, fireplace, spacious cabins, full kitchen, dining room, and awesome vaulted ceiling with a rustic look and woodland and lake view on Gull Lake. Excellent food at Zorbaz, Bar Harbor, and Sherwood restaurants located nearby. Other amenities include professionally rated golf courses, boat rental and sportsmen fishing. All in all, an top notch place to take a vacation with your family.

This resort is great. Lots of activities on site and in the local area. If you like the northland you need to try this resort. It is set in the woods with all the wildlife but minutes from town with shopping and restaurants.

Do not miss the Pequot Lakes Fire Tower (Paul M. Thiede Fire Tower Park) for a great view of the area colors! There is both paved and gravel hiking trails - easy for any level and the colors are stunning, The pavilion area has wonderful signs sharing the history of fires in Minnesota. Sherwood North restaurant is a few miles away and has a great lunch menu with excellent Bloody Mary's. Crow Wing Historical Museum was interesting and a great way to understand the area and it's importance in a growing Minnesota.

Prefer own unit to Handcapped, still have the bruise on my forehead where I hit the stairs.Dust on the walls in the bathroom. View was great, enjoyed deer and turkeys in the yard.Bathroom in pool house had a dead bug in it the whole time we were there and needed to be clean. Craft was fun. How about a get together pot luck or a game night. Stay was ok.Nearby activities: Really enjoyed the petal boat.Walkability: Beautiful places to walk

This review is not in any way directed toward the staff who I legitimately believe are doing their very best. Based on my observations this resort is significantly underfunded and its overall deteriorating condition is showing. The condition of the units are sadly not what you see online. Nor can the overall condition be simply classified as 'rustic'. I think that the owners and its governing board are at a crossroads and need to make a decision to invest in the property or chose to be outside of the RCI consortium. In the current state the property is not a good points exchange value and it does not meet the standard that many expect from an RCI affiliated resort. I have never given a bad review of an RCI resort in all the years of timeshare ownership, however, this place has so much potential if there was a concerted effort to bring the property back to what was likely its glory years - many, many, many years ago. It could really be something with some adequate investment. Until that happens, it will continue down a path of deterioration in a beautiful picturesque location. I own no shares in any property in Minnesota but in my opinion, Breezy Point offers better value for RCI owners. It is nearby and not nearly as tired of a property. This is an honest and fair evaluation of Causeway. So much potential - I truly hope it changes in the years to come.

We love going up to Gull. The building are getting a little aged but still one of the best places to stay on Gull. I love the easy boat ride to Lake Margaret and upper gull. Plus it’s just a short boat ride down to lower gull lake. One of our favorite things about he area is there are always loon families around.

We spent a week at Causeway on Gull at the end of June. We transferred our timeshare points through RCI and were so happy to have found this place. The staff was wonderful and so helpful, answering all of our questions and catering to our needs with a smile. While we experienced a little frustration finding that the outdoor pool was closed for the week due to someone breaking glass on the pool deck overnight, we found that to be a minor inconvenience to our week…and the kids were still able to enjoy the indoor pool on several occasions during the week. We stayed in unit #19, which has recently gotten new carpet (for those previous reviews that complained about old carpet) and found our unit to be so relaxing. We were down by the water and loved hearing the loons at night. This resort had it all. We utilized the free boat slip the day we decided to rent a pontoon boat. We spent a morning out on the lake with the resort kayaks. We spent two evenings down at the campfire roasting s’mores and listening to the live music at the restaurant next door, Zorbaz. Our kids had fun doing some of the craft activities, and playing ping pong and pickleball. Plenty to do, but also so relaxing. We will definitely be back!

Resort check in was hard to find. Assigned to lower unit that required walking down steep path around to back of building. Entrance unmarked. Large old bird nest hung down on light over entrance. View/grounds outside sliding door were nonexistent. Large soda bottle filled with old cigarette butts on decrepit grill. Security bar in sliding door broken. Unit clean. Silverware enough for only 2 people. TV/satellite remote needed repeated re-pairing to each other to work. Parking for 1 car only, 2nd car would be a walk back to check in lot. May be a better unit rental in winter if you snowmobile. Disappointing in summer.

We are owners for approximately 30 years. We have always had good vacations until this year. We go in Jan. When it's mostly below zero temps. & extreme wind chills at times. We snowmobile (trails were very good) & ice fish (tough going with all the snow/slush). That being said, the main draw for a Jan. vacation is to come back to a warm hot tub. Ok, I'll give some slack that hot tub was down, but almost all of them? & only found out about this '3 days before our vacation & 'only' because I had contacted the office regarding something else. Ok, we'd deal with it. But to come to find out that the fireplace was also not working! & no one let us know this either. What's the big deal, you may be wondering.... it's freezing with a whole wall of windows & if it's below zero temps & if there's lots of wind... which we had both, the furnace can't keep up very well without the fireplace. My husband & son arrived on Fri night & called me Sat. to bring many blankets/throws to be able to hang out in main living area cuz was v.cold. Now to give perspective, I keep temp at home at 65 during day & maybe to 67-68 while watching TV in evenings, so, we can handle cool. They did put new carpet in our unit, looks real nice; but, doesn't keep us warm after snowmobiling or fishing. :)If needed, the Board members could have authorized movement to another unit where things were working for us & other owners. Example, no one was in the connected unit the whole week. I doubt that hot tub & fireplace were not working there & if it was not, then why focus on new carpet. We've been paying maintenance fees plus occasional extras for ~30 years & still original hot tub. & It was brought to the attention of staff (this would have been the 3rd year) that the hot tub was overly loud & the floor in the connecting bedroom would vibrate. I was prepared this year with ear plugs so, I wouldn't have to sleep down on the couch all week, like the past 2 years. Lol, well, that was not a problem since it wasn't running.Sadly, the furniture was put back on the new installed carpet & one of the chairs created big snags where they pushed it. We put Mt. Dew cardboard under legs, so that it wouldn't get worse after letting the office know. Hopefully, maintenance did something after we checked out.We appreciated maintenance setting up a table for us to clean fish in their garage.Security for indoor pool/workout area should probably be revisited...The housekeeping was the best we've had in years when arriving at the unit (disregarding some carpet dust, cause literally...it just got put down). We enjoy cooking while we are at Causeway, so, pleasantly surprised with the heavy duty pots & more cooking & baking options than previous years. We love being up in the area. The 2.5 rating was for the most important amenities not available for a winter week & lack of communication/ disclosure from the Board of Directors & no effort to accomodate the situation.5☆ housekeeping4☆ maintenance5☆ checkin & checkout2.5☆ unit2☆ communication-(Board & staff)

Nice retreat. Hot tubs were not working - something to do with the health inspector shutting them down. Evident that some maintenance items (inside and outside) have been allowed to slip.

The biggest problem is I remember how nice it once was. There is a major lack of maintenance. Moldy rotten windows, ice dam damage , cheap furniture, cheap plumbing fixtures, broken floor tiles. The place really needs some love.
