Picked up my vintage Marantz receiver yesterday from being serviced. It’s whisper quiet now, including controls, pulls in The Current like never before, and the led’s Alex installed really make the display pop. Couldn’t be more pleased with the entire experience. On top of that they are genuinely nice people too.

Do not bring your turntables here. Paid $80 up front to get some cables replaced, waited three months with no word. Called several times with no information, only to pick it up to find it had been broken. The power switch no longer works, and there are several scratches that were not there before. The platter will not spin without noticeably scraping against the chassis. On top of that, the cables werent even replaced because they "worked." My turntable is now likely unfixable, and I was refused a refund. Avoid at all costs if you want your things back in one piece.EDIT: In response to Alex's thoughtful comment, those pin sized marks are the screws from the bottom punching through the top of the chassis, not "rub marks." I assure you that overtightening is to blame here.EDIT 2: Looks like Alex deleted their slanderous response, but it basically amounted to blaming me for wanting my turntable back after 2 months, accusing me of damaging it myself, and claiming it was broken when I brought it in. Every step of the way has been incredibly unprofessional with Alex, and I can't not recommend them enough. Stay away. I'm also now out over $400 after having to buy a new turntable. Thanks Alex!

Great place, but would not work on my Kenwood receiver . Sorry, but I brought in a Kenwood 5150 and a parts one. Not a turntable.

I had a damaged stereo receiver. Alex looked at and informed me that for the cost to repair it, it would be better to buy a new receiver. He then researched and informed me what and where I could buy a new receiver that would be comprable to what I had.

Great for vintage equipment repair! Brought in an older amplifier that belonged to my grandfather, they fixed it right up! A little expensive, but well worth it for the quality work!

Brought in a 1980's Pioneer receiver for repair. Paid my $80 for an estimate only to hear a few days later that the unit has been "heavily modified" and Alex was much too busy to trace down someone else's "hack repair job". Took it to another repair facility and found out that the issue was a tuning capacitor. Nothing had been modified and the tech said that the unit was probably never even opened up for a diagnostic check. Looked 100% factory according to him. So while this shop may have a following among some of the vintage hi-fi crowd, I'm of the opinion that Alex "cherry picks" his jobs due to an abundance of work. Still, a huge waste of $80 for me and someone that will never have my future business.

A gem of a find! My 20-year old Boston Acoustic speaker was acting up, particularly the sub-woofer. These guys were able to fix it and it works perfectly now. They're skilled techs who know what they're doing. No run-around - just great, first-quality work.May 2021 - It has been a few years since I had my one Boston Acoustic speaker serviced here and I now brought my other one in for the same repair. The are quite slow and when they tell you 5 weeks, you shouldn't expect it any earlier. As others have noted, they won't provide any update until the repair is ready. Cost is not inexpensive, but I believe they do quality work. They are the only place - that I'm awarw of - that will repair powered speakers.

One of the few places left in the cities to repair old audio gear. Pricing was a little more than I thought to fix two connections, but as long as it works, that's what counts.
