Scott at Monticello Auto Service was a complete professional from the moment I called. I brought my 2014 Kia Sorento to them from Cornerstone Kia after they said the engine was seized and quoted me a price for a engine that made me wanna vomit. I called Scott and he told me to bring it in to them and they will see what they can do. Scott called me the next business day and gave me the honest hard truth, motor wasn't seized but wasn't able to run due to having a bentvalve.
Scott was 100% honest with me and said most shops won't even touch Kias but he was able to find a used motor they would be happy to install if I decided. Me and my wife decided the vehicle wasn't worth the headache and decided to scrap the vehicle. But I will definitely use Monticello Auto again for there honesty and giving right information to me

Beware of insane parts upcharges. I’ve done lots of business with this place over the last few years. Till they tried to up charge, 60$ per spark plug. Then they lied to me and said it’s because they use OEM quality. When the OEM ones from the dealership are under 30$. They wanted me to pay 86$ per spark plug (no coil packs) and then labor. I understand upcharges to make money but almost triple the price is insanity. This place will gain your trust and then try to scam you.

I was supposed to leave town the next day, when my car started making a weird noise. I called and explained and they got my car serviced the same day. Fast and friendly service. If I could I’d give them 10 stars.

Moved back to the area after ten years and a good friend recommended Monticello Auto Service. I was very impressed with the customer service provided and professionalism of the tech. The staff truly cared to ensure that I left with a safe and reliable vehicle. Highly recommend!

I was pulling my boat up north for the 4th of July weekend from southern Minnesota when I started experiencing a lot of trailer vibration just north of the cities. I originally thought a bearing went out so I had my wife Google auto repair shops in the area. Monticello Auto Service was one of the few places open and they had good reviews so we decided to stop there. When I got there they quickly came out and looked at my boat trailer and noticed that the tires were probably the issue and they had me back into the garage right away. They called a local tire dealer and found two replacement tires which they mounted, balanced, and installed back on the trailer. All the while my kids, wife, and I were comfortable in the lobby enjoying the clean bathroom, free water and snacks, and an arcade machine. We were back on the road in just over an hour and the price was super reasonable. We found out after they removed the old tires that one of the tires had separated (you could see the metal in the tire) so we were close to DISASTER! I appreciate this shop noticing the desperation of the situation and doing everything they could to help and get us back on the road without taking advantage and charging us an arm-and-a-leg.
