I have been going to MAH for over 7 years. At first I thought the cost was quite high. My puppy mill rescue dogs have had more difficult dentals and surgeries. The support and kindness I have received with dogs in foster care and adopted dogs, has made my rescue endeavor a positive experience. One of my Yorkies fell of the bed during the night. She was unable to walk as her legs on the right side would not work. She would simply topple over. She did not appear to be in pain. Dr Leilani made a trip into the office on her day off to provide chiropractic care to my dog. When we left the office my Yorkie was walking normally. I could give you other instances of their caring procedures my dogs have received but just know that MAH cares thoughtfully for my dogs. I cannot recommend them enough.

They always take good care of my bunnies , always call me after the visit to follow up . Everyone there is so nice and kind and make sure you understand everything before leaving there . So yes I highly recommend this place and give it a 5 stars easily.

MAH took very good care of my chronically ill bunny, especially as she was at the end of her life. Dr. Leilani showed true concern and compassion for my bunny, and often sent inquiries about her health between visits. Because of COVID, I could not go inside on the visits, but she would call me and discuss the exam in depth before my bunny was brought back out to me. No complaints!

The care Minnetonka Animal Hospital gave our aging Cairn Terrier was compassionate and exhaustive. We felt fortunate to find them when we were struggling with how to help him as his intermittent condition progressed to become chronic.

I only wish I would have read these reviews before going to this vet. I chose to switch to this vet because it is so close to my house. I recently went there to get updated shots for my older dog and have a first puppy appointment with my new dog. It was a terrible experience. And their prices are outrageous. When I was chatting with the Doctor it didn't really seem like she knew what she was talking about, I was so confused after the appointment. They sent me home with meds to treat an ear infection that my dog did not even have (I didn't give him the meds because I knew he didn't have an ear infection). They also sent me home with a years worth of flea and tick/ heart warm prevention medication that I did not even request. We chatted a little bit about my older dogs anxiety and I said I wanted to get him on meds. The doctor said they "recommend" a blood panel before putting him on meds. Once I declined that she then said it was "required". I went home without anxiety meds and they charged me for a comprehensive exam for my older dog. My bill was almost $600 for my visit... I went back 2 weeks later for the second round of shots for my puppy and they said his ears look great, the ear infection was gone... why would I be sent home with and charged for meds if there was no infection in the first place? They also gave him a dose of meds for internal parasites without asking me first. My bill this time was over $150. I have had dogs all my life and have never been charged this much for a basic exam. I do not recommend this vet, they over charge and false diagnose.

The best possible place to bring your small animals and exotics for care. Dr. Leilani Hotaling has been a blessing these past few days as I work to get my chinchilla Whispey back to full health. Dr. Hotaling was straightforward about the seriousness of Whispey's health, but was just as direct about how we were going to face the challenge head on and get my girl healthy. She has provided advice and support for not only Whispey, but for my bunny Tuffy as well, including diet recommendations and tips for how to track the health of my babies between vet visits. Whispey is showing signs of improvement, but is still in bad shape. Whatever happens, I know that I am doing everything I can for her thanks to the amazing support I've received from Dr. Hotaling.

The staff that stays late when an entire family and *all their pets* come in for a last goodbye.

I had the most wonderful experience there today when they took care of my baby girl and her poopy crotch!!! I’m so grateful that they work on bunnies and they knew just what to do and they’re so compassionate!! Thanks Debbie Mans for recommending them so many times on Facebook!!!!

I do not recommend Minnetonka Animal Hospital. They came recommended to me by MCRS (Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society) and I had one of the worst experiences in my life. I brought my rabbit to be neutered and he died when they were waking him up. When meeting with them in person, there was this odd attitude that seemed displaced due to the fact that my rabbit died when he was in their care. They also were originally going to still charge me for the neuter ($500) despite the fact that he died. I was distraught since I just lost a furry family member, I had someone else call and they reduced it to the amount of the cremation ($200, very high still for the fact that now my pet came home in a little cardboard box). I had then adopted another rabbit a few months later, and she developed E cuniculi (which I suspected). At the time I wasn't sure what other vet to go to, and I think I'd hoped it was just a bad experience but the vet knew less about the disease than I did. Surprising since they came recommended by MCRS. They ended up charging me for a full blood panel (around $150) even though she told me the blood cells were literally too small for the machine to read, so the test was useless. I implore you, if you have a rabbit please do not take them here. I had never owned rabbits before and was trying to do the best by them I possibly could, and Minnetonka Animal Hospital failed both of my rabbits in a terrible way.

My family and I changed vets specifically because we were seeking a holistic approach to our dogs allergies. We asked to meet with Dr Leilani and were instantly put-off by her complete lack of "bedside manner". She did not introduce herself upon entering exam room and seemed disinterested in engaging with us. No talk of any holistic approach was ever mentioned. The Dr. left the exam room without us knowing she was actually done with us- the tech re-entered to wrap up the appt. The ONLY thing we appreciated about the appt was that she prescribed a med that helped our dog. However when it came time to refill meds, we chose to go back to our original (helpful, friendly) vet and the clinic would not send prescription because Dr Leilani would not release records because we had not scheduled a follow up visit with her! We didn't know we needed to! Go someplace else if you expect a clinic to work and communicate with you. Very disappointed. An expensive lesson.
