Clean, organized, full-service vet office with separate areas for dog & cats. They have limited appointments for pet patients that don’t have (or are too far from) a vet. That is why we’ve been here with 2 different dogs. Parking is the only challenge, but that’s much of Uptown.

Scheduled appt with Vet, so sweet. Today Monday call from girl there stating wont take my Pet Assure Discount card because of their prices, I got mad and canceled appt, then I called them back after they tried to call me, same girl was sarcastic stating mailing me 50.00 deposit fee instead of crediting my card, stating will receive next week, I stated oh, this week you mean, ty and hung up. Just throwing this out there, they don't like ins either.

Best vet in the Twin Cities area! Everyone is so friendly and always remembers our dog Tater Tot. Very professional and knowledgeable vets too. Also fun fact they are married and a power couple!

Updating my review 2 years later: I’ve had some shaky experiences with this vet the past couple of times I’ve been. I’ve had vet techs be rude to me when I said I didn’t know how to clean my cat’s ears and then make me feel bad for them being dirty. And I’ve found one of the vets could use some coaching around how to work with people who love their pets but are on a budget. When I expressed I couldn’t afford the special food and treatment recommendations the vet’s dismissive attitude made me feel like I was the problem. Other times I’ve had great service and good experiences, but as we come up on the cat’s annual visit, the inconsistency of service is it making me consider a different vet.
Old review: The vets are thorough, responsible, and responsive. They take time to answer questions that I have, and the take my concerns as an owner seriously. The vet techs are also really helpful, friendly, and informed. I really like this clinic and recommend it to others in the area!

This place is awful, they held my cat's prescription food for ransom essentially, telling me they can't refill the prescription I just received at their vet until I schedule a vaccination. The two things were completely unrelated. Obvious vie for money.
I also asked them on multiple occasions for a written prescription for my cat so I wouldn't have to go through them. Of course they didn't want this and dodged the request every time. Eventually I pestered them enough to get them to send me a prescription for literally one more bag of my cat's prescription food. Not only this but the prescription had VOID written all over it.
Like seriously come on

We were seen by Dr. Antonio Lombeida for a wellness visit. He was very sweet and informative. He made us feel welcomed the second we saw him and that he truly cared for our dog’s wellbeing. We appreciate the time dedicated to us and I definitely recommend coming here for your pets health! :)

I had the absolute worst experience at Uptown Vet. I took my elderly dog in last week Thursday since he was spitting out his food and we wanted to get him seen by the vet for a potential dental concern. My dog was seen by DR. TEHILLA HELMAN and she concluded that she was "pretty sure" he had a mass. DR. HELAM informed me that if we wanted to obtain more information, we would have to sedate our dog to get more information and a sample of the mass. DR. HELAM inserted a stick into my dog's mouth which he started biting and it was clear she could not manage to observe him thoroughly and the teeth in the back of his mouth. He will be 17 in a month and stopped eating so we planned to put him down last weekend thinking he had oral cancer and that there wasn't a better choice for him and his quality of life. We decided to get a second opinion Friday before proceeding with euthanasia at home. He was seen in urgent care at the Animal Emergency & Referral of Minnesota and the vet was able to examine him thoroughly without sedation and concluded he had abscessed teeth and ABSOLUTELY NO MASS!!!! We were ready to put our dog down based on DR. TELMAN'S FAILURE TO DIAGNOSE PROPERLY!!!!!!!

Wonderful practice. Not only does the whole team provide great care for my dog, but they are excellent at communication and follow-up.

Uptown Vet is a sweet place, it feels homey and the staff cares. I've been a cat owner for over 30 years, and I'm so happy to have found such a place! I highly recommend them.

After 12 years taking our sweet Shih Tzu to them, they refused to credit her account with the $150 cost of a procedure (needle biopsy)--I was told it was the only option (our dog has pulmonary hypertension & Dr. Antoniou told me he & her cardiologist were concerned about her survival under anesthesia.) I asked if the mass could be removed with only local anesthesia & he said they don't do that because it's dangerous if the dog moved while the mass is being cut out. So, I said "yes" to the needle biopsy (didn't show malignancy), & was told 90% of these tumors are benign & bring her back if it got bigger. Few weeks later, I made an appointment because it had grown. Then Dr. Rachel was asked if taking a piece of the mass for a biopsy was an option--I didn't think it was because when I was initially told options, her husband did not mention it. She said they could (???) & I just received the results that it is cancer. Not only did I wait weeks until having this done--I was never told about it--but they refuse to credit her account (I didn't even ask for a refund!) with the cost of the procedure; I would've skipped it had I known that a partial biopsy was available. I would've NEVER waited for "it gets bigger" to have it tested. I feel sick thinking of how I trusted this vet. I feel incredibly sad that our sweet dog has cancer, & disappointed & disgusted by their office manager & owners' handling of this situation. If you go to Uptown Veterinarians, do so knowing that your loyalty & trust will be met with insensitivity & pettiness. #UptownVet #UptownVeternarian #MplsVets #MiplsVeteanarian #MinneapolisVet MinneapolisVet #MNVeternarian

It is always a great experience here. The doctor and the staff are very helpful, patient, professional, and answer all our questions. They are able to get us seen same day. Recommend this place!

I am so impressed and touched with Uptown Veterinarian! Before I had established care anywhere, I had called around to several vets recently asking for advice because one of my cats sniffed a lily (which can be lethal even just from sniffing!). The next day, I got the sweetest voicemail from their practice manager, Blanca, asking about my cat by name and how she was holding up, and saying she hoped the lily scenario didn’t ruin my valentine’s day. Uptown Veterinarian checked back in despite me not even being a client—they truly just wanted to know my cat was okay. I ended up taking her in that day after the incident, and they were able to run bloodwork so quickly. Thankfully, my cat is fine, but everyone I interacted with here was so kind and Blanca even made a point of coming down to meet my cat as I was leaving. Truly outstanding service and care, at a level which is kind of unheard of these days! I will absolutely be taking all my pets here moving forward.
