A new update
Brought my car here again.
Really weird. They had 3 specific things they wanted to fix on my car. Had me approve everything, kept my car for the night. Then, at the last minute, I get a note that none of the work is actually needed, and they will not be performing any repairs on my vehicle at all.
Updated review...
(Was 5 stars but no more)
I love this garage. EXCEPT when they break something on my car, don't tell me, then deny it.
My remote start(installed 6 months earlier) was flawless.
Brought my car in to Lift. Lift does work on my car. I pick up my car.
REMOTE START DOES NOT WORK.
I schedule a recheck. Bring it back in.
...
Drum roll,..
It just so happens that they didn't do anything to the remote start, and they are not responsible for breaking it... and that's it. $400 remote start(1st one I've ever had) and broken from those that say they are helping.
Since they say they are not responsible, I have no recorse for action except this post and my yearly donation, which they will NEVER receive again from me.
Another update
And a twist...
So I go pick up the Truck. After they told me they did nothing to the remote start. But again, it did not work prior to dropping off.My truck.
See I pick up my truck. I try to use my remote start. It works.
Now the part that I most irritated about is the fact that they just didn't admit that they screwed it up and then fixed it. So dumb.
Makes it seem like i'm crazy....

I’ve been bringing my vehicle to The Lift Garage for over three years and always had positive experiences, until my most recent visit on 9/12/2024, which completely broke my trust in this shop.
After my vehicle was inspected, it suddenly wouldn’t stay started, even though it was running fine before. Joe, the Shop Director, told me they didn’t know what was wrong and would need to keep my car for a few more days. He was condescending and dismissive, staring me down without blinking and seeming pleased to inform me that nothing would be done. His attitude made it clear that my concerns didn’t matter—either I accept what he was offering or get nothing.
To make matters worse, I had already reported this issue during a previous visit, but it was overlooked by the mechanics. After paying for those repairs, I returned to say the issue wasn’t resolved, but they claimed they couldn’t find anything wrong. This left me skeptical, and now this recent experience has confirmed my concerns.
What really pushed this over the edge was when I tried to assert myself and express my frustration, Joe threatened to call the police on me and have me escorted out. As a long-time customer, I was shocked by this treatment.
The Lift Garage serves low-income individuals and underserved communities, and the staff should be trained to handle customers with more empathy and care, given the challenges many face. Instead, I was met with hostility and a complete lack of respect.
I’m deeply disappointed and will be reconsidering whether I continue bringing my vehicle here.
Update: I was immediately contacted by the director and told that this person was no longer an employee and that my continued business would be appreciated. This man’s behaviors was not in line with what the company represents or his training. When I came back to get my vehicle serviced staff was really compassionate with me about this situation. They have made this situation right and I really appreciate that.

I don't even know how to put into words how grateful I am for The Lift Garage. I was so excited when I was able to secure an appointment because my car has started to need repair after repair after repair and I could NOT afford to fix it. I also couldn't afford to not have a vehicle so by the time my appointment came I was barely able to drive it there.
As soon as I got there I was greeted so pleasantly outside by the nicest guy (pretty sure his name was James) who escorted me in. He got all my info and listened to my concerns and was very professional. He was also just so nice. You could tell he enjoyed his job and had a great smile that made me feel like I was leaving my car in good hands.
I got a call from Oliver a few hours later to discuss my assessment. He has the patience of a saint, I sware! I had so many questions and it didn't phase him at all. He explained everything to me very succinctly and re-explained it again to me when I didn't understand or had follow up questions. He went over everything line by line and even was able to secure extra funding for me which blew my mind. I was over the moon excited that my car was gonna get fixed!
I had a lot of safety repairs that needed to be done and so my car was there for about 8 days. I was pretty impressed that they were able to get all that needed to be done in that amount of time, and when my car needed additional work, I was immediately notified and my consent was asked every single step of the way. I also received funding from several different sources that they secured for me and I could have cried each time they told me funding had covered a portion of my repairs.
To say I was needy is an understatement. I had several family members helping me pay and they all had questions and I had questions and I basically had them on speed dial by then. I could text them at any time and they got back to me almost immediately every time. Their responses were kind, informative, and always made me feel in control of what was being done on my vehicle.
I've utilized many services that are intended for low income families and a majority of the time you end up feeling like the smallest person on earth for needing help but not here. I was treated with respect and dignity and that means the world to me.
They finished my repairs a day early and the total was less than my original quote and my car is running so well now! I'm just so humbled by the service I received at the lift garage. My car is my lifeline and I am just eternally grateful for this place and the blessing it has been for me.
Thank you to everyone at the lift garage!

I am a long-time customer with Lift Garage since 2018. I had positive experiences in the past time, until the new employee took over. He seems that he does not like me for some reasons. He told me that my vehicle has bad transmission that he would not add the exhaust system (which has approved for last year, but he removed it without letting me know). I have returned to add the exhaust system. He said I need to check another shop for a second opinion. Another shop says that my transmission is in a good condition and have called and left a message to your voicemail. I left messages and emails to him at your place and he did not respond back. I have noticed that your shop didn’t do the checklist sheet that I came for a full inspection on July 12th, 2024. It does look like your front desk employees want to get rid of me after being a long-time customer with your shop. The mechanic is in his 20s gave those diagnostics. Their quality of service is getting worse.
Responds to the owner’ comment: I already sent you an email about my experience and my feelings about your shop. You decided to not let me to be your customer anymore. It was your response.

Not good. Like some of the other stories below, what they said got fixed did not get fixed and my car is in worse shape than before. They did end up compensating for a further repair at a different shop.
The owner had terrible communication and deescalation skills, I was met with threats to return my car to me on tow truck bed taken apart. I explained that I'm about to start school and I'm also a single parent and sole earner for my family. I needed to have the part paid for and schedule out because it was taking so long without a good explanation or estimation of when the part was going to come in. She flat out refused, refused to return my car, and refused to give me an estimated date of finish. We ended up having to get a rental to avoid total loss of my income and prevent getting kicked out of my college program. Just for the car to be in worse shape than it was before.
I hope they're investigated and exposed in the future, they should be. Good concept, bad execution and bad management.

Before I share my experience, I want to note that the owner was very helpful and did what she could to rectify the issues I encountered at The Lift.
I brought my vehicle in for a timing belt and water pump replacement. I received my vehicle back and the inspection report stated the brake pads were in excellent condition.
Two months later, my brake light came on and it turns out my brake pads were dangerously low, so it leads me to believe the technician did not truly check my pads at The Lift.
When I brought my car in to the dealership for the brakes, they noticed the timing belt was leaking a significant amount of oil. I brought it back to The Lift and they said yes, it is leaking, but that it wasn't their fault.
I brought my car to another shop and they confirmed the timing belt was poorly installed and that the water pump was not replaced. Obviously I was very upset to hear this.
I called The Lift and the owner emailed me back. She refunded me the amount I paid at The Lift and compensated me for the costs I accrued at the other shop.
I did not have the best experience with car repairs at The Lift, however the owner made it right and I am extremely grateful for this. I know the owner is doing an internal investigation to understand what happened on their end.

Thank you!!!!! Couldn't be happier with the service they provide. I made my appointment, budgeted for my repair prior to my appointment. They were fast with getting my inspection done and I knew same day how much my repairs would be. The money I saved for my repair I was able to pay for my repairs along with having money leftover to fill up my tank and other things I needed. Thank you lift garage and all the people making it possible for low income households to get repairs done at a affordable price.

Typically I'm not the one that would write a review. So I bought my van in totally forgot that I was on a waiting list as I schedule it about 4 months ago. Of course my van is old and it's breaking down and within that 4 months is breaking down even more. I get an email a week before my appointment and I was ecstatic cuz I totally forgot about it. I've never been here before but I just know that I qualify because of my base income and the assistance I received monthly. $4,000 price tag to fix my van. I barely paid 1/4 of that. $258 was what I had to pay. Gave them $300 and wish I could have donated more but I gave all of that $300.
The wait to get your car fixed their is worth the wait.
Now let me get to the staff Oliver the person at the front desk is so respectful so kind and they don't make you feel like you are a person that's going in that need help and that you are on a fix income.
They make you feel worth a million bucks or more LOL but they also make you feel like it's just the normal auto repair shop the whole staff that works there smiles and have a positive energy about them they went above and beyond truly if I were to ever hit the lottery this will be one of the places I would donate to lol they helped me out so much you have no idea thank you for all you have done I feel so blessed.
