This is a smaller target that primarily targets university students. It has an extremely small selection of products and grocery items are frequently out of stock for long periods of time. They also only have .99 cent reusable bags that you have to purchase and sometimes they run out of those too. I would recommend the Quarry or Downtown targets instead if you need a Target run and the Lunds and Byerlys on University Avenue for groceries.

I previously wrote a 1 star review for here but after a few months and multiple visits I’ve decided to revise this rating. My issues with this target and the reasons why this is a 4 star are as follows:
1. It is pretty sparse in here. There is about one aisle side per category; one row for pet products, one for cleaning supplies, one for kitchen wares, etc. This can be a bit frustrating as a lot of the time I get 2 options for one product. It’s a touch annoying but I’ve come to appreciate the fact that at least they have stuff here.
2. Everything that is more than 10$ is locked up. When I first wrote my 1 star review, this was a huge point of contention because I would have to wait 10-20 minutes for the one of four employees to come over to unlock the product I need. Batteries, detergent, soap, electronic items (phone cases and chargers), and basic necessities are a process to obtain. However, after shopping for a while there, I genuinely really appreciate this. Little things I don’t need are never in stock because they simply get stolen. I’ve talked to employees and this is the reality. The safety measures ensure that everything that is VITAL to living is in stock and if it’s not that they have proper accommodations to restock asap.
3. This doesn’t apply to me exactly, but it is something I feel guilty about. A whole section of the store is designated to clothes for women, but there is only half an end cap for baby supplies. 4 options for baby food, one or two for diapers. That’s really it. I feel so guilty for guardians who come to get supplies and there is none available, yet cats and dogs alone get their own section 4 times as large as the baby section.
The staff here is genuine and sweet. They are so kind and so funny. They keep the store bright and the highlight of my trip is laughing with the employees. They make this store so much better than it was the first time I came in. I realize that this target does what I can with the space it has.

Lauren at this Target is the rudest Target employee ever. I have been a loyal Target customer for years now, and generally had a good experience here, but she was absolutely rude - she would not greet you, or even help with any Target offers that I had on my account. Target employees are generally very nice, but not Lauren. Please remember to checkout with anybody but Lauren.

Prices are jacked up because they know students without cars don't have many options, selection is limited, and they don't provide bags.

We stopped in to grab a few last things before leaving our daughter at college. The employees were so helpful. Victoria was working the register and helped us through a new to us process. She was so kind and courteous, but most impressing was her patience and willingness to explain how things work, so we could save money. I so appreciated that about her, that I decided the experience was worthy of a review! Thank you Victoria!!

Bad service. Hardly a customer in the store. Requested someone open the merchandise cage to sell me a phone to phone cable. Waited and waited. No help.

I decided to try this target since it was a quick fifteen-minute walk from my new apartment. Will not go back. First, it's not a whole target. They only sell basics, and most of their products like shower gels are locked up. It's hard to find people on the floor working. They only had self-checkouts open even though at least six employees were standing there chatting. They don't have regular bags. They make you purchase reusable bags if you didn't come with your own. It's good for the college students coming to pick up a quick item, but not good if you really need to shop. I will be going to a different location.

Not well stocked and they do not supply a bag to take your purchases with you. Probably two of the most important things a “store” does. This time the person was at least friendly. Shop elsewhere if you want to find the items on the shelf and be able to take the items you purchased home with you.

Not too bad. It's a small Target so the variety of items is more limited and prices are a lot higher than most other Targets but for the items they do carry there are a lot of different options. Team Members are friendly, though sometimes it can be hard to find someone to open the locked cabinets for a lot of the items and half of the self-checkouts are always temporarily closed for some reason. But it's really conveniently located in Dinkytown and there are no other grocery stores or pharmacies within walking distance.

I'm currently doing deliveries for the summer and my experiences at this Target are what really cemented me stopping support for Target altogether. All of their insured items are locked up and there's nobody on the floor to help REGULARLY. They'd rather create this false sense of threat than make the shipping experience something worth doing and I'm sick of it

this location has the deodorant locked up behind glass. i am NOT forcing some random worker to have to sit there and wait for me to smell all the options before they can lock it again just so corporate can save a couple bucks in shrink. get real.
