Love, love, love this place! Their work is amazing, their communication is top notch. They have altered dress shirts, suits, slacks, Lulu pants, jackets and my wife’s wedding dress. Only tailor I will visit and have never been disappointed.

I am a long time customer of Tailors on Blake - for all sorts of tailoring through the years. Recently, Sharon Terry and her team at Tailors on Blake made Faribault Blanket-covered lumbar pillows for me that we will use as decorations for my daughter’s wedding venue. They were even embroidered with the wedding date and family name. The pillows are gorgeous, creative and just so cute. Tailors on Blake is the best tailor in the twin cities. And Sharon is the best!

In fact, it's the highly complex work that truly reveals the depths of their training and skill.My husband owned an Yves Saint Laurent suit made of beautiful fabric. They completely re-cut the suit and transformed its vintage look into a modern fit for our son.I had a dress made that should have fit perfectly, but it didn't. Sharon's expert eye could instantly see what wasn't working and how to fix it. Very disappointed in the quality of work and customer service. I felt like I was promised the moon, but they delivered very little. When I expressed my continued concerns at the third appointment, the owner got very defensive and essentially blamed me for the dress not fitting properly. Would not recommend for bridal alterations, especially for expecting mothers.

I want to start by saying that it is quality work. My wedding dress looks great.The big problem is the pricing. What started off as $650 turned into over a $1000 in tailoring.I made a $200 deposit at my first fitting and at each fitting after I kept putting more money towards the total.Along with that, I continuously double checked on the pricing with the front desk to make sure that I knew exactly what the total amount was, and what I needed to be prepared for.So I come in today to put my dress on one last time and bring it home. Of course like I said, the tailoring was quality work. But it was when I went to pay where I was completely overthrown and my hand started shaking. The total was way beyond what had been discussed.I was told that the price had increased with tax and because I kept making changes. But I confronted that with the fact that I had been double checking at every fitting on how much was owed and what each change would cost. BTW there was only ONE change that was added beyond the two I came in for.With my wedding coming up on August 3rd and flying out before that, I really had no choice but to pay it and just go.I’m simply posting this review because there needs to be way better communication to guests/clients. Honestly, if I had known that this was going to happen, I wouldn’t have made even one change and stuck with safety pins

I had a hidden zipper replaced on a beaded jumpsuit. They are very professional, know what they are doing, very reasonably priced and very nice!!! I will definitely be coming back for more work. There are lots of items in the store that you can get monogrammed which would make a great gift.Service: General repairs
