I have been working with Dr. Klapach and her team due to a patella fracture. I have not previously worked with this particular PA in Minneapolis, but I was not at all surprised with his level of professionalism and his kindness. Every team member that has been a part of my care has been exceptional.

In 1999 I had a ski accident that damaged my shoulder and arm. Dr. Buss was amazing. He is also approachable and listens well. Decades later still doing great after the extensive surgery. My post-surgery physical therapist was amazed by how quickly and well I recovered.Dr. Buss stressed the importance of the shoulder exercises he and prescribed. So glad I followed his orders.Quite simply put, Dr. Buss is one of the best shoulder surgeons in the country. (Google him for the depth and breadth of his work.) We are fortunate he practices here in the Twin Cities. Don’t hesitate to schedule an appointment with Dr. Buss if you have shoulder issues!

Surgery and doctors are fantastic. Had my left shoulder operated on a few years ago and the doctors/nurses/PAs were great. Recently called to schedule an appointment as I re-injured my shoulder, and the admin/scheduling people were very rude over the phone and treated me the same way when I went in for my appointment. Not a very inviting way to go about healthcare.

The last thing I expected was to need rotator cuff surgery during a pandemic, and believe me, I was not happy to be going in person to see doctors, but this clinic is doing everything right, and I do feel as safe as I think is possible these days when I have to go to see my surgeon or my physical therapists. I agree with everything Leah O. said in her review about Dr. Aimee Klapach, and indeed, Leah's review is a big part of what led me to Dr. Klapach. Some people might think it's strange to find a doctor on Yelp, but I trust my Yelpers!! Before I went to see Dr. Klapach, I had been seeing doctors at FairView University for the better part of last year. I wish I had gone to see Dr. Klapach right away. I doubt she would have made me wait 8 months and jump through numerous hoops before telling me that surgery was inevitable. I can't ever get those eight months back, but thanks to Dr. Klapach, I am slowly getting back my range of motion, and I believe my pain is already less than it was before surgery, most of the time. I just had the surgery in December (which went great, by the way! They do it in an orthopedic facility, not a hospital, so my Covid fears were lessened), so it has only been a short time, and recovery for rotator cuff surgery is notoriously slow. But Dr. Klapach and her assistant Bradley are with you every step of the way, going above and beyond, to the point where the surgeon will actually pick up a phone and call you. Yes, I just about fell on the floor the first time that happened. Dr. Klapach really cares, and so do her staff. I am also really happy with the physical therapists on site. They do a great job, and are available by phone or email if you have questions about the exercises. Side note: They have recently re-branded to Allina Orthopaedics, but they are still the same great clinic with the same caring staff.

While the care has been good and I'm able to get in quickly (date-wise), I have found that I have had to wait over an hour after arrival for my scheduled appointment time on several occasions, which is frustrating.

I wasted 14 months enduring pain with my shoulder by going to a regular doctor. He sent me for an MRI which said I had "tendonitis" and that doctor sent me to physical therapy which actually made things worse. After getting no better I finally wised up and decided to see a shoulder specialist, Dr Daniel Buss, who requested a new MRI and he read it correctly. I am so grateful I went to see him. He is a VERY knowledgeable, skilled, and caring surgeon and he set me up with an aftercare program through a great physical therapist (you are awesome Brad Olson!) and Dr Buss tailor made this protocol to help me heal to the best of my ability. I trust him 100%. He isn't a "warm and fuzzy" doctor (more matter of fact and to the point) but he really cares. Since my surgery I've met others who have had work done by Dr Buss and they too had high praise for him. He and his staff can be trusted with your healthcare needs. Thank you Dr Buss!!!

Look, I'm not gonna waste your time with all of my injury details. If you're looking at this page, you're probably broken and vulnerable, and you just need to know the facts. Fact: "Expert" doesn't begin to describe Dr. Aimee Klapach, MD. She does 270 knee surgeries a year, a fact I kept repeating to myself when I was having anxiety spin-outs in the weeks before my ACL reconstruction surgery. That depth of experience matters when you're literally trusting someone with your limbs. Fact: She's a super conservative surgeon, bless her heart. She never tells me what I want to hear. She tells me what I need to hear. I don't want a risk-taking, skydiving bro giving me health advice. I want someone who's gonna tell me that "If it were my sister, I wouldn't do it" when I ask if I can fly to a wedding a few weeks after surgery because there's a small chance I could get DVT and die. She obviously didn't love disappointing me. But she takes her job seriously enough to be a firm advocate for my healing and my body, and at the end of the day that's what I need. Fact: Her work is excellent. I'm 9 weeks out from surgery and my knee is healing beautifully. I followed her directions and the result is that nothing has gone wrong: no infections, no mistakes, no risks, no mishaps. Just steady improvements day after day, which is all I can really ask for. Fact: She has an incredible team working with her. They called me the evening after my surgery to check in- which at the time felt like an incredible kindness- and when I have questions they always call me back within a few hours. Her scheduler was wonderful, and made sure we had everything we needed to prepare for surgery. I've always found it easy to book appointments, and Dr. Klapach goes to a variety of locations, making it easy to find a time and place that works with my schedule. I feel so lucky that I landed in her care, and can't recommend her enough.
