Don't rent here. If they don't have your reserved vehicle, they attempt to get you to pay the difference to a more expensive vehicle. Shady.

God forbid anything goes wrong with your rental, Sixt makes it impossible to get in contact with anyone who could actually help you. I left an item in the car when I returned it over two weeks ago. I went back in person to the location the next day in order to tell them I knew exactly where it was. They assured me that the car would be checked as soon as it returned, but that they had my info and they would contact me as soon as it got back. Since then it's been nothing. I submitted the online form with detailed instructions. I've emailed the address provided for a follow-up. I've called corporate multiple times to try and schedule a call back from the MSP location - nothing, I've tried multiple times to have them directly transfer my call to the MSP desk - they don't ever answer the phone. Despite repeated promises that someone would call me I've been ignored at every try. Short of buying a flight back to Minneapolis to stake out the desk in person, I can't figure out what else to try. Don't rent here.

Rent a BMW. That's the main pitch of Sixt, a German-owned car rental company. They have a lot of great cars, but are the only major chain in the US that will rent you a BMW. The MSP location is quite good. Super friendly. That's unusual for Sixt, as most of their locations are not. So kudos to the MSP crew for caring about their work, keeping everything clean, and being super nice!

Friendly fast service I preordered a Rav 4 they were out when I arrived from my flight so they offered a BMW SUV at no extra charge would definitely recommend

Really positive experience with my rental from this location! Line was non-existent when other agencies had long lines. Desk agent was super helpful and gave me a complimentary upgrade to my vehicle class just so that I would not have to wait for one to become available. It's amazing how many companies make their logistical issues the consumer's problem, so coming across an agent appropriately empowered to help ensure I had a great experience was such a refreshing change of pace.

Would give Zero Stars if I could. I reserved a SUV but was told at the counter that there was not one available so I was given a Van. When I returned the car, there was no point to point inspection done, and the person taking the car back did not do any inspection. He told me that everything was good with the rental and there were no damages and made me sign. I thought everything was good because thats what i was told, but I get hit with a bill the next day saying theres damages. I called corporate and explained my situation that this is pretty shady, as the person who took the car told me there was no damages and for me to sign on the paper, then hit me with a bill later and not giving me a chance to justify or validate anything. Corporate basically told me, that this branch does this to avoid confrontations and they couldn't do anything to help. This is such a scam, as I was not given a chance to look at and dispute the damages.Luckily, I had insurance that helped cover the damages, but their payment process is so confusing. I paid through their "Secure Link" that they emailed me and was never given a confirmation that the claim is now closed and resolved. When I called Corporate, they says they can't find my payment and don't know where my payment is even though they took money out of my bank already. Took talking to 3 different agents to get this resolved and get a confirmation that the claim is now resolved.Avoid at all cost!!!! I made the mistake of now taking a picture and videos of the car at the time I rented and after I return so I can have proof of the state of the vehicle because I have never had such bad experience. I will never rent from them again!If you do rent from them, you better make sure you get a video and pictures of every inch of the vehicle when getting it and returning it and also ask about damages and fine prints of anything before signing. Don't make the same mistake I did and not get anything, because you might find yourself in a same situation as me.

Like to receive a surprise bill for $1782 eight months after your rental was closed out? Like to get a rental car with trash in the trunk like someone had been joy riding after the last rental? Like being told you won't be billed because damage was likely prior to you, then 8 months later gettIng a bill? Like being billed for damage under the car? Like getting no response to inquiries about the bill? Then SIXT is the car rental company for you. Fraudulent.I will never rent from them again and recommend others do the same.

Excellent company! I had a great experience with them and will definitely use them again. Fast service at the desk, friendly and helpful employees, beautiful new car that had only been driven once, and quick return with no waiting. Very reasonable prices. Every other time I’ve rented from other companies I’ve had problems. They want to charge my credit card months later for “damage”, or they don’t have a car available, or they are rude at drop off. I really didn’t like renting cars after those experiences with other companies, so I’m really happy to find Sixt. Very positive experience overall.

I had several good experiences here, but the last one has prompted me to write this review. I returned my car early to the Terminal 2 station as was written in my contract, with a full tank of gas. Sixt has charged me for an extra day, a late return fee, and for $140 dollars worth of gas. I have contacted their "customer service" and submitted receipts, itineraries and proof of returning the car early, with a full tank, and for the proper amount of days. I have heard nothing back in weeks, and will now have to dispute the >$300 worth of erroneous charges with my credit card. Never again.

FRAUDULENT and SHADY. They will rent you an old, high mileage, battered vehicle and claim no responsibility when it breaks down hours into your usage. I rented a standard SUV for six days. The SIXT Counter attendant gave me a high pressure sales pitch to upgrade to a BMW X1 for an additional fee. I declined. Then he said my intended SUV was in need of service so he upgraded me to that very same X1 that he tried to get me to pay EXTRA for. SHADY. When I got to the battered and dirty X1, it had high miles--30,823, and the "low tire pressure" light came on the dash within 3 blocks of leaving MSP. This X1 was clearly beyond its prime. Then, after driving it for barely three hours, barely 100 miles, and three stops, it would not start-- and the "check engine" light went on! Several passersby and I repeatedly unsuccessfully tried to start the car. I called AAA for help and called SIXT to complain. I told SIXT that even if AAA were able to get this junk X1 started, I was very uncomforable driving this wreck. I had already missed important deadlines due to being stranded in the middle of the MENARDS parking lot for hours, my perishables were sitting in a hot vehicle, and I needed a reliable vehicle that would not give me problems like this. They agreed to send me another vehicle. But since I was 100 miles away, it would take two hours. While waiting for the replacement, AAA responded. They were not able to start the vehicle and popped the hood. After fiddling around under the hood, they were able to get the vehicle to start, and assured me that I could drive it to my hotel 3 miles away. I called SIXT to update the vehicle exchange location. It actually took three hours for the tow truck to bring a replacement to my hotel. At the end of my trip, I received a claim from SIXT to pay for the towing fees to recover their junk car. They said they checked ithe X1 upon return and the car starts fine --now. Of course, they failed to accept that there was indeed something wrong earlier and it was completely reasonable for me to have no faith in continuing to use this piece of junk. They said that since this starting issue happened while I was in possession--and since I did not buy coverage--it was my problem. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE! They should have been offering to deeply discount my rental since I had a reasonable expectation of receiving an operable vehicle that would last more than a few hours. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Staff was friendly. Gave us a free upgrade when the vehicle we reserved wasn't available. The SUV we rented was clean, new, and gave us no issues. I accidentally left a jacket in the car, put in a claim, but was told it couldn't be found. I don't know how it could be missed. Hopefully they'll return it, but I don't have much hope.

Our flight was delayed, all of the car rentals were closed. We had to get an uber to the hotel. The next day I got to the car rental, Khalid gave me a free upgrade with out charging me extra. It was a real nice BMW. We were impressed! Great service!Thank you Mr. Khalid!

Wow what a hidden gem! First time user & definitely using again when I return next month. Khalid made the transaction so easy and was both friendly & professional! Did I mention I was the only one in line, while the usual car companies were dealing with 10+ customers each? A bit of a walk to the actual vehicle, but clearly lit and easy to find. Guys who checked me in for the keys were super sweet too---many thanks from this weary traveler!

Great service at desk and in garage, at pick up and drop off. Really saved me after my reservation at another company fell through (no cars - like the old Seinfeld bit: they know how to hold a reservation, just not what to do with it). Great upgrade, easy return. Cheaper than competition. My second time renting with Sixt and will seek them out again.

Loved my rental experience! While all the other companies had people waiting up to 3 hours I waited 5 minutes for the one person ahead of me to finish, Krystal helped get me all set up and Noah T got me in my car quick as can be and was so helpful!!! This will be my new rental company!! Highly recommend!
