This one hurts, I used to shop here all the time, now that I've been fired from this place I can confidently say I'll never shop here ever again. Upper management is greedy and doesn't listen to the workers below. They added self checkout lanes and removed a cashiering job, hoping no one would notice. The floor is deliberately short staffed to inflate the numbers of the self checkouts and justify them. Schedules are extremely volatile and will change at a moments notice, they couldn't even accommodate me taking one class. When I told them how the change was effecting me mentally they told me multiple times how they could do nothing to give me my old schedule back (I worked mornings for months with no issue), Further more they don't care about their African speaking customer base, no matter what they say to the contrary. To summarize: gentrification central that says they care about you to your face but do so very little to back up those claims. Worst rated co-op in the country as of 2023 (according to the NCG) and I have a feeling it will win that honor again in 2024 and beyond if they keep doing what they're doing

Stalkers, ind3cencet shoppers and outrageous prices for produce that rots fast. Selling hallucinogenic mushrooms like candy with no spoilers in that 1/2 off basket

Visiting the area and looking for organic produce to plan several chicken dishes around. Was excited to be able to do so at a co-op, but then I found out they've been replacing cashiers with self-checkout! Next thing you know they'll stop taking cash! Can't support this step toward a tyrannical future where every transaction we make is tracked to the penny.

We’ve been members for as long as I can remember. Great small co-op with excellent local selections. They’ve done a lot over the past few years to stock products that are price-accessible, though overall the selections are a little on the expensive side. The deli section never disappoints. The staff are always friendly and attentive.(The Hungarian mushroom soup was the best, but they haven’t had it for a couple years now!)

Pretty nifty selection of food that cost more than probably anywhere else you’ll shop for groceries

Edit-Self Checkout??Really???I value entry level jobs in OUR community.I am a member and shop co-op even though it costs more than the local corporate store. Significantly more.I am happy to spend more for several reasons, one being we appear to care about our community, and pay a decent wage to OUR employees. These new robots replacing OUR entry level jobs is not the way.If you can't handle talking to a cashier for 30 seconds, go to whole foods....Or better yet, get out of your comfort zone for 30 seconds. It could be liberating.____________________I love the store. Always well staffed with friendly helpful faces. But the days of old school cool co-ops are long gone.I remember when co-ops were about buying mass quantities in bulk as a group (read cooperative) to save money. The current "Co-op" motto may as well be a Whole Foods- price things as high as the market will bear. The modern day food co-op has become nothing more than another corporate machine, hungry for the almighty dollar....I think CO-OPs can still make a difference in our communities but I feel they have lost their way.....

This place has gone downhill with a quickness. Their newest shenanigans involve completely turning the store aisles upside down. No rhyme or reason to the new layout. Everything's "under construction". Can't find what you're looking for, employees not really around to help, prices went way up, and they support what I consider trafficking right out front. There's a woman there begging, and when she gets some "donations" the men who are watching her a block away , swoop in and take her money. I brought this up to the staff, but they seemed indifferent. They'd rather come out in droves to scream at me for parking my scooter too close to the store after a crazed, homophobic peace coffee employee cussed me out for supposedly blocking the handicapped area while her elongated bike was completely blocking the handicapped area. Employees are very elitist, snobby, and generally all around filled with hatred. I'll be trying the other store on. 38th.

These people need to be reported for being racist! They hired a friends daughter here and on the first day of work, because she did her work fast, some guy DAN reported to his boss that she smelled like alcohol and thus was fired! The young indian woman has been in recovery and sober for quite some time and is a blessing to others in her community! This place is toxic! and racist!

I used to work here and shop here. Although co-ops are based on principles of equity and cooperation, the upper management at Seward is so backwards that the employees need a union to protect their basic rights. At this location the employee and management turnover is insanely high which is why customers never get a consistent experience. Additionally nearly all people in management positions are unqualified for their jobs. (Usually with zero experience in the field) Lastly and most sadly, this co-op is not in favor of women’s right or bodily autonomy. If you believe in principles of equity, cooperation, or ethics I would NOT shop here
