“I brought a ring in to New Gild looking for help. I inherited a wedding ring from my mother, but she'd altered it and made it appear more "costume jewelry"; replacing the diamond with a massive sunstone and then having a jeweler add in two more settings with sunstones, turning the ring from a solitaire to a three stone ring. It originally was a lovely Black Hills Gold ring of a leaf bed with a single stone in the middle and now it was ruined (in my eyes) because you couldn't see the leaves. I always loved this ring. I brought it in to New Gild to see if they could help restore this ring back to what it originally was. While we couldn't restore it to a single solitaire, because of the alterations my mom made, they were able to suggest an amazing alternative to bring what I wanted, which was more of the leaves, back into view. I'm so happy I brought the ring to New Gild. Thank you so much for your amazing attention to detail on this work and your thoughtful consideration and suggestions while working with me!!”

When we lived in Chicago as young children, Aunt Rose and Uncle Dave (David Sperber Jewelers) couldn't wait to make sure their favourite nephews had a signat ring with a very mini diamond and a bracelet with our name engraved. “We were referred to this shop by a family member who had been before and we were so impressed! We scheduled a 90 minute couples massage, and arrived a little early to look around first. Street parking was quick and easy. Our massage therapists were jace and henrietta, both wonderful, polite, and skilled. The few sentences of guided meditation during the massage helped us stay in the present and the snacks and tea served afterwards were a great addition to help us wake back up! On checking out, she reminded me that if something isn't right, I could return it and if I needed to remember the order in the future, the order is on file. I'm a longtime customer and Northland Visions is among the best offering Native craft supplies.”
“This is an amazing store! They have amazing products, but they also go much further... If you are new to learning about rocks and gemstones, this is a great shop to go to. They are passionate about the products they sell and they love to teach you things if you are curious to learn! John offered to let me cut open my first agates ever on a slow day FOR FREE because I had been shopping there so much! This staff truly launched my LOVE for geology and lapidary. I haven't been in a while because I don't want to go broke ? I would say 80% of my massive crystal collection comes from this shop. They are ethical and often mine and polish their own product. They are sure their products are acquired appropriately, and not all shops will take enough pride to ensure this. I can trust that the money I spend is on products that are appropriately priced and ethically obtained.
I hope I can get to one of their lapidary classes or trips some day, I love John and his crew truly! I have sent a lot of people to this shop. Planning on stopping by soon to say hi to the friends!
