2nd stay was disappointing. You are paying for the location here. The rooms are not holding up, and the restaurant food is just bad.
Nearby activities: It's right on campus. Can't beat the location. It has its own parking lot and is also attached to a UMinn garage.

over 25 family members and I booked rooms at the Graduate for a funeral. I was traveling with my 85 year old mother and the afternoon before we were to fly out I got an email (this was after the confirmation email we'd gotten) saying they'd overbooked and were bumping us. Turns out over half our group was similarly out of luck. No text, no call, so it's lucky I checked email. They never found me a room, and the city was packed. I finally managed to get my own room, as did other family members, but it made organizing get togethers over the course of the weekend a hassle, as well as the added expense of Ubers to get myself and my mother to and from the hotel. The points they offered to stay at one of their properties at another time after I escalated my complaint didn't in anyway make up for their shoddy business practices.

Horrible experience staying there. They charged me twice for the stay and cited the error in computer systems but wouldn't refund the charge after multiple calls nor will send me the receipt for the stay.
Also the rooms are noisy.

Really cute! The hall is beautiful, the rooms are beautiful, the location near the university is convenient. Everything very clean and very well looked after. Finding a pool table and an air hockey to play and meet people was a very pleasant surprise! Highly recommended!
Rooms: Clean, spacious, well-kept. Beautiful.
Food & drinks: The hotel has a great restaurant and communicates directly with Starbucks. There is everything nearby (as always when you are near the university)

Sadly, this Graduate, like all Graduate hotels, has been purchased by Hilton and they are already price gouging to the point of absurdity. They have now added this, among other additional costs: "Daily Mandatory Destination Charge includes: Premium guest internet access; daily $10 food and beverage credit for use in hotel restaurant; bicycle rentals." What if I don't want to eat in your restaurant or have a bike? And really, you charge for "internet access"?? So never staying at any Graduate hotel again.

Terrible customer service. They asked me to leave my email address and they’ll email the receipt to me when I checked out. But when I called back to follow up, they said they didn’t have my email address. I provided it to them over the phone and still didn’t receive the receipt. I had to call 2 more times and they finally sent me the balance of zero without any expenses listed. How hard is it to provide your customer with a proper receipt?
On top of that, they put an additional charge of $250 on my credit card, citing it was due to a transition in their system. They said it will take 7 business days to remove it and suggested that I called my credit card company to resolve. Why is it my responsibility to deal with a mistake they made?
Rooms: Room was quite noisy. There was constant water running noise in the walls.
Walkability: Close to the U.
Noteworthy details: Front desk is extremely rude and not useful at all.

Recently stayed at this hotel with a friend while in town for a Morgan Wallen concert. We were both pleasantly surprised! A quality hotel for much less than other hotels closer to downtown. The lobby is beautiful; rooms are extremely clean and the decorations tasteful and fun. We felt very safe in the area (hotel is situated in the middle of University of Minnesota campus). It’s also steps away from the light rail (Minneapolis’s public transit), which was super convenient. And it’s attached to a Starbucks on one end and Chic-fil-A on the other?! I don’t know what else a girl could ask for.
The only (minor) downside was that the bathroom was a bit small. However that is truly my only complaint and I would certainly stay here again if given the opportunity.

Positives: Location is convenient if you want to be on campus
Rooms are large and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Negatives: Saturday night I could not sleep until 3 am. People on the street partying, screaming, publicly urinating. Cars are drag racing. No rest during the day either if your room is facing the main entrance. I asked for another room facing away from the main entrance and the hotel staff kindly accommodated my request. I appreciate that (it because of the staff the rating is 3 stars, otherwise I would have given 1 star). Still, if you are staying here, make sure to ask for a room that does not face the main entrance. Not sure if location of the room would have made a difference for the noise from drag racing.
Hotel does not have laundry/dry cleaning services, which is surprising. They can recommend local dry cleaners, but you would have to make all arrangements yourself. It seems that no laundry/dry cleaners work on Sundays.
The front desk is understaffed. Waits can be long.

A Graduate hotel located behind the University of Minnesota. The antique-style lobby is impressive, and the staff were all very friendly. While the facilities show some signs of age compared to other nearby hotels, this also means you can save on room rates, which is a notable advantage.

"Booji" and fancy but pricey hotel but the rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are very nice. One negative, I do have younger children who like to take baths instead of showers. Also I was on a medical comped stay for my daughter's appointment with her oncology team, and I was still charged $50/night incidentals fee. I just think it's kind of obvious if I'm getting a comped medical stay, this isn't some sort of pleasure trip. I'm here to make sure my daughter has remained cancer free. Not smoke in your rooms or destroy your rooms. $25 incidentals is what I get charged at the other hotel we get medical comps, so I was a bit taken aback when it was 4x that price. The location is super busy at all times and pretty difficult to get in and out of. Maybe I'm too used to the laid back lifestyle of small town life, but takes 2x for me to get to the entrance every stay!
