Great variety of items including be boots but lack on men’s wear…. but if you use your discount credit and try to return the item that you used the discount with, they will not give it back to you. That’s kind of bogus because the item was worth whatever you purchased it with so they should return both your cash and your discount back when you go to return items. Kind of a rip off! I earned that discount with all the money I spent there already, shouldn’t I get to retain it?! They petty af, cheapo!!

Pay your employees more than $12 an hour so people don’t show up with buys just to be denied due to y’all being understaffed. Such a waste of time to drive half an hour with 3 bins of clothing. I planned to shop as well, I had a few hundred to spend. Definitely taking my business elsewhere in the future.I don’t know why i had any sort of expectation for this store to be properly ran, the woodbury location is horrible as well.DO NOT SHOP OR SELL YOUR CLOTHES AT THIS LOCATION

Excellent store. Great staff. Good selection, even for a middle aged guy. They also will pay you cash for items you no longer need if in good condition and in style. Excellent business model that allows people to stay in style for a good price and helps to reduce landfill waste of perfectly good items. Check em out! You could find a gem!

This was both my first time visiting (any) Plato’s closet and selling some of my clothes here. Staff was informative of the start and end process when selling to the store. However, there’s a few small things that I disliked, was a bit confused on, and/or thought can be improved.Firstly, although they take your phone number to put in their system during the selling process, you never receive any of their texts. (My sister also sold items here previously and the same thing happened to her as well.) Since I was just dining in next door anyway it wasn’t a big deal when I received no texts letting me know my order was finished. (I used the estimated time frame of 1.5 hour as told by the staff member after dropping off my items). The second minor thing I was a bit confused on was knowing what items were sold. (It wasn’t until I got home where I was able to look at what remained.) I, of course was happy that I was able to sell some of my things. However, I wish I was able to get a receipt or asked if I’d like a copy. It was my first time going through this whole process and with customers waiting behind me, I didn’t want to wait and ask.Overall, I had a pretty good experience with the store and this location. I would probably visit again. :)

Overall great with the exception of the cashier that was helping someone prior to us at the register then when it was our turn she walked away and then just kept walking past us as if we weren’t waiting to check out deciding to do anything else other then help us

The store owner can never admit fault or doesn’t even apologize for what inconveniences their CUSTOMERS have. This place is very dirty and the communication is no where to be found with their employees.

This place is sooo picky. I brought in Nike, Brandy, and Urban clothing most wore once or twice some were even never wore. Obviously if they weren’t in good condition I would just take them to a thrift, as they accept everything. They passed on all my clothes both times I brought stuff in.However, I went to the one down in Burnsville and they bought about half of my items and took about an hour to look at my items (that one is good, staff is nice there as well). If you have the chance go to any other Plato’s I recommend. Here they are very biased with what brands and items they want. It’s not worth your time plus at this location it takes 4+ hours to process your items. The store owner also responds to every review, at least the ones with 1 stars. And she super appropriately thought to respond to a customer saying this “Our store is primary for teens and twenty-somethings. Brands like Loft and Clarks tend to be a little too mature for our store.” Good condition items or not, they will still be biased and bratty with what they want. This is age discrimination at its finest!! especially for a small secondhand business you think they wouldn’t be so picky and maybe they might get more customers wanting to buy and sell.I have also added a picture of my items, just out of spite. The bottom left and right ones are urban outfitters and are sold like that. Not like I’m going there ever again, but just for some insight on why it’s a waste if your time. And if it’s so much of a “risk” to buy from customers maybe it shouldn’t be something you offer…

The employees here are nice. However, I would not recommend selling here, or buying. I bought a shirt and when I got home I realized it had a huge stain on it. I found the same shirt online for half of the price and bought it… without stains. As for selling, I’d recommend Mercari or Poshmark. I brought in a hamper full of clothing and they took 7 things, roughly. I was paid maybe $15 for the 7 items they purchased. I sold the remaining items on the above online selling platforms and have made over $250 after tax. I would say to sell your clothes to Plato’s closet if your in a time crunch to sell things, however it seems as if it is not a good use of time or gas. I prefer not to browse their store any longer since 1. The items are outdated 2. The items are typically heavily worn or 3. The items are priced above used retail market. Also… as for the last time I was there, there was litter all over in their parking lot, obnoxious music being played from vehicles, and I was asked for money in the parking lot by a random man. Based on all that I have stated, I will not be returning to this establishment.

Unfortunately, the only way to sell stuff here is if you hop in line at 10am. Cashier told me the wait can get up 3.5 hrs. And they cut off buying at any time. So if you have a job, don't waste your gas driving there like I did. I saw on Facebook what items they were needing (with no mention of cutting off at any point of the day) and I put a couple bags together over the weekend, went after work...too late... maybe more transparency on your operations so people can plan accordingly.

They over stuffed my bag so it fell apart after I got home.I bought the bag from them.It was a problem that I brought to their attention. When it was to help them .The worker had to get a manager about bag you buy with their name on it .I waited and waited no manager.I had to get some we’re .I had left the bag and left the store for good because the workers doubted me I never felt so humiliated .What happened to the customer is always right that’s out the window.

Wow! Plato’s Closet Maplewood has an awesome selection and it’s all gently used or even brand new! I love shoes and they had brand new Nike’s, vans, chaco, and madden girl. The Vince Camuto heels were on crazy clearance! Shoes are priced any where from $12 -$50 or less during clearance. I found a BOC purse BRAND NEW for $10!Went to look at the guy section and had a some fun swim trunks, jeans galore and shoes (of course). They even had a shoe size 15 - they really do carry all sizes! It’s clean, the staff was super friendly and the prices were great ?! Definitely going back.
