I was treated with courtesy, respect, all my questions were answered.I received a free Dental exam...the x-ray and the consultation was absolutely ? free. I was informed in common simple language the condition of my entire mouth. They also explained how to purchase dental insurance at a low yearly price. I was happy that I went to Aspen Dental of Maplewood today. They were very professional.

There are so many reviews here that I WISH I would've read before making the impulsive and quite frankly desperate decision to go to Aspen Dental today. I never write reviews but the fact that the office manager asked me to write a Google review at the end of this terrible experience sealed the deal. I booked online for an emergency, but when I called to confirm I was told that nothing would be done same day as far as treatment. That's fine, it's a wisdom tooth, I figured that could be the case. What I wasn't prepared for was the way it felt like I was just plopped into a machine and everyone was just bopping me around until they spit me out. Not only did I not receive a cleaning, I was then told that they wouldn't even do a regular cleaning on me at a future appointment because it would be considered malpractice since the dentist 'prescribed' root planing and whatever the deep cleaning is for gum disease. I thought I'd at least have an exam and a cleaning. I had X-rays that were pretty awful, but I expected they might be. The gal doing them was nice enough but kept saying things like "oh must have been a long time since your last cleaning" - A of all no, not comparatively and B of all aren't they supposed to be non-judgemental? The whole entire experience felt like a machine with s revolving door. X-ray tech in and out. Revolving door for the hygienist, swap out for the doctor. The dentist was nice enough, but everyone spoke to me like I was stupid and "this is what happens when you don't take care of things" type of attitude. It wasn't until I was whisked away with the office manager (before I even realized my exam was over) to discuss the costs of recommended treatment that it really hit me that this was purely transactional and they don't care about patients at all. I guess that's what happens when you choose a big chain. No compassion, repeatedly asked "were you prepared for this financial responsibility?" when being told the cost breakdown. Even worse than finding out that you have to pay upfront just to MAKE an appointment for treatment, is that the oral surgeons are only at each location one or two days a month. So now something that's an emergency has to just simmer until I find a location I can get into? I had hoped I'd receive great care but I'm left with an impossible decision to move forward with them or start over somewhere else when I really just need this dealt with. Proceed with caution.

Very disappointing. This should have been a great experience, but it's obvious that Aspen Dental absolutely does not care about patients. Nobody at the front desk for over 15 minutes, then they don't greet you when they finally show up. The girl who took me back clearly just asked her checklist of questions and honestly didn't listen to the answers. I wound up leaving after the first x-ray because they couldn't accommodate my gag reflex for the bitewings x-rays. My last dentist would use some numbing gel to help me get through the bite wings, but Aspen offered no alternative. It's ok, I'll just go back to my old ghetto dentist. I didn't actually want to switch anyway, but I moved and Aspen was closer.

I first want to share the staff was pleasant, with that being said I don't recommend using online resources to schedule an emergency procedure. All it is is a marketing tool to get you in the office unfortunately.I called a number online for same day tooth extraction, I was very specific about the type of insurance I had with the rep I spoke with.Once I arrived it was not just for the procedure I needed, it was for a full work up and care plan with the possibility of emergency services. To make a long story short after calling early in the morning to procure an appointment that needed quick attention they didn't accept my insurance and only had an out of pocket option , which wasn't something I could swing at the time.So after missing 2 hours of work, I'm still in pain and unable to find anything today since I started looking for options to late in the day.Now I'm sure if you are established with this location it's a different experience, it just wasn't a convenient one for me today.

I had an amazing experience this morning at my Aspen Dental location. The staff was amazing and very helpful. I was able to discuss payment options that worked for me and am finally getting wisdom teeth out with no problems. I would highly recommend to anyone!

The whole staff at this location is phenomenal. As someone who doesn’t visit the dentist as much as he should, I felt super comfortable and at ease during a whole months of work. So much so that I even had a laugh with the dentist in the middle of my deep cleaning. Special shout-out to one of the mangers there as well, Maddy. She was great. 100% recommend this location to anybody who are as nervous as me about visiting the dentist.

They called me back right on time for my appointment. Everyone was upbeat and great to work with. Zero insurance issues. Aspen in general gets a bad name but this place is awesome. Feels more like a hometown small dentist than a major chain.

I was concern about my gums and set an appointment online. I received a call in less than 15 mins to confirm my appointment. They are on top of their call backs. Once I arrived, all the staffs were so kind to me. Autumn took my x-rays, she's as fast as a lightning. Nicky is nice and patient with me. She even showed me how to measure out the rinse formula. Jill is the sweetest person ever. I almost fell asleep during the deep clean session because of how gentle she is. It felt like a massage. She's awesome! My mouth feels extremely clean now. I would highly recommend this place to my family and friends. Thank you to everyone for your help!

I didn't get my teeth cleaned & here is why: I went into Aspen the first time because I had a lot of pain. But I had not been to the dentist in over 10 years due to my extreme fear. I explained all this to the team at Aspen. I got the work needed and found a wonderful women who cleaned my teeth without using a drill. The fear was the drill! When I went this morning I found that the woman was no longer there and according to the person who was going to do my teeth said she is probably not there because she didn't use a drill. You don't do sedation for cleaning but your ex-employee found a way to deep clean my teeth and I was happy to walk through the door this morning, until I saw the new person. I will not be back and make sure I am NOT charged for this. You made it impossible for me to get my teeth cleaned.

Beware: My 91 year old mom went in to get her teeth cleaned. The first bill (for half her mouth) was $900, then they told her it would be almost $800 for the second half. When she went in for the second appointment, the hygenist was not helpful and rude. My mom asked to get into the chair from the left side since it was easier for her - the hygenist said no, because then she would have to move her things. When she was in the chair, the hygenist told her she was positioned wrong - but didn't offer assistance or a better explanation except "we need you to get taller". Finally after several minutes of this challenge, my mom left. Today I called the office "manager" who acknowledged she heard the issue, but didn't offer to help or intervene. They never said anything to my mom as she walked out without the service. A d today when I called, she never once said she was sorry. Unbelievable!

Dental experience was less nerve racking than I thought - considering I had not been to a dentist for 15-18 years. I would recommend to anyone.

I scheduled for an yearly cleaning, but when I got there, I only received a check-up where they took x-rays of my mouth and informed me of everything that was wrong. I did not receive any cleaning. I was asked if I wanted to continue with the treatment plan and was told that the estimated cost would be over $3000. I ended up opening a care credit card as I could not afford the estimated total. No one bothered explaining the estimated bill to me at all. I was handed a BUNCH of papers to consent to. They did not provide me any information on the different types of anesthesia. I ended up scheduling all of my appointments, got home, and then finally looked over the estimated bill because the visit felt so rushed. In my estimated bill, I was going to be charged $135 for an electric toothbrush that no one asked if I wanted. Due to my experience there, I ended up cancelling ALL of my appointments and will be going to a different dentist who will thoroughly explain my treatment plan along with the different types of anesthesia and my bill to me.If you do consider going here, PLEASE look over your estimated bill and thoroughly read all the paperwork handed to you before deciding to follow through with your dental treatments.Update:My credit card was charged over 3k for these appointments even when they were all canceled and I did not receive any treatments. I have called to issue a refund and it has been over a MONTH and I STILL have not received a refund. I keep calling customer service and keep receiving the same response that they will reach out to the refund team and then NOTHING ends up happening.

I paid nearly $800 for a cheap denture that broke in only a few months. They repaired it and it broke again, and again. I've chalked this awful experience up to an expensive learning experience but you can be sure I'll never go back to Aspen Dental for anything ever again.
