Poor customer service. I have called and had no one answer the phone. I do the option to get a call back and get no call back. Online services poor. I have to go into the bank to have an online issue fixed or I have to call them. Customer service poor. I have banked with this bank for at least 10 years. It used to be a more personal experience. Now it’s not. I know others who bank here and they are saying the same things. Step it up building trades.

I opened this account when I worked there back in 2016. My joint owner has been trying to activate his debit card for a month now with no help - every time we call the automated line to activate it, it tells us we need to call the credit union. When we do, we are on hold for a long time or someone promises to get an actual branch employee to call back and no one ever does. I suspect my joint's contact information is not updated so its not matching, but no one can confirm that nor can I update it online. We moved from the cities to Saint Cloud so its almost impossible to see anyone in branch or talk to a live person without traveling to the 1 out of the 3 branches in the cities without driving for an hour. Now I have to spend my lunch break calling in hoping to get someone to help so we can access our OWN funds. Before we moved, we did go into the Shoreview branch to discuss another debit card issue and no one really knew what was going on. We got a new card ordered and the name on the card is for the beneficiary of the funds instead of the Power of Attorney, so we were unable to use it. I have worked in the credit union field for a long time and it has never been this hard for someone to complete such a simple task. I just called again and was told I will get a call back since no one is available due to the fact that they just opened 10 minutes ago. Will be closing our accounts since our member service experience is not even close to the service we get at any other credit union. Extremely inconvenient and it has become apparent that member service is not a priority here.UPDATE - I faxed AND mailed my close account form to them on 12/23/2022 and I noticed that only closed half of my accounts so a week later I had to try to call them again only to be told they will call me back. I checked again a few hours later and my accounts are magically closed now but I AM NOT surprised no one called me back to confirm.

I think the Building Trades Credit Union are a bunch of thieves. I received a letter two weeks ago telling me that they’re going to start taking money out of my accounts because I haven’t used them. I went to close them I had $50 in a savings account and $50 in a checking account they gave me $25.

We had fraudulent activity on our account. Building and Trades does not help you with this. They make you cancel your cards, call another # that will do a "investigation" It takes at least 10 days to find out weather you will get your money back and at least 10 days to get new cards. You should not have to deal with a 3rd party company to do a investigation and get your money back. Building in Trades should be doing this for their customers . It is not a good feeling to see that your card information has been hacked and you call your back for support, to hear "We don't handle fraudulent activity, you will have to call another # and they will help you. I was beyond shocked that they could do NOTHING for us. A lot of banks can print you a new debit card on the spot. Not a option at all with Building and Trades. Its 2022 there is no reason there should be a lot of hassle when something like this happens. Extremely disappointed and looking to bank elsewhere.

I have been with this Credit Union for over 30 years, and it's always been a good experience. Just recentlyI needed a quick transaction done, and they pulled some strings and got it done for me. Thanks

Yes we were forced to join your credit union to access our vacation fund! But at least there's 3 inconvenient locations!

Every time I need a loan I shop around but the service from Tammy is second to none and I never end up leaving. As long as Tammy stays I will be banking with them.

I always have the BEST experience with Building Trades Credit Union. They have been my bank for practically my whole teenage life until now (about 10+ years now). Applying for a loan is easy and stress free. Everyone from the bank tellers to the loan specialists are extremely caring and professional. I look forwarding to many more years with BTCU!

horrible credit union. high intrest rates, dont care about their consumers well being, and if you are a day late from the grace period they report you 30 days late, even if u call ahead they will just say oh well there's absolutely nothing we will do for you. they dont care. they give snarky looks at you when you withdraw money, and are rude over the phone. if my husband's union didn't force us to use them, we would pull out in a heartbeat! and yes we are forced to use this credit union, because the union forces our vacation funds to go to this bank. and almost 15% interest rate on a vehicle loan is crazy! unless you have near perfect credit, u won't get a good APR. and by calling ahead, i don't mean just call ahead and think thats enough. other places offer programs to deffer a payment to help when u have a rough month. the lady told me there are no programs or options to help u from having a mark on your credit report. she literally said to my husband too bad pay on time and u won't have a problem than. we have had the loan since 2016, and we still owe 59% of the loan. only 2 late payments ever. they are Also so secretive about loan terms that if i asked them if its under 10 days late is there a late fee and how much late fees are. they got snarky with me in the drive through like i was breaking the law by asking. yes i know u don't allow any personal information at all to be disclosed to a non borrower, but thats ridiculous. its literally a general question for god sakes. general information is not the same thing. i could have been someone who was just inquiring about random loan info. if u don't want bad reviews than maybe you should try and actually help your members instead of treating us that have bad experiences as if we are making things up.

The telephone menu system doesn't give an option to speak with someone unless your question falls into 4 or 5 specific categories. I have a simple question that would take a few seconds to answer but I don't see a way to ask the question.......

I enjoy going to this bank. The tellers are all so easy to speak with.
