I have been a customer of Handi Medical Supply for over 9 years. When I lived in Minneapolis in a 4 plex on the 2nd floor, my purchases were always delivered to my apartment door by one of their drivers. I now live in a senior citizen high-rise building on the 7th floor and do not know when or if my packages were delivered. I am a senior citizen with medical issues and can not make it down to the main lobby to haul 4-5 boxes of medical supplies up to my apartment. I was told by them that in order for me to have my purchases delivered to my apartment door versus the front lobby, I would have to pay for that delivery ($20-$30). I live on a fixed income and can't afford that cost. In addition, my boxes are sometimes missing or have been opened after being dropped off in the lobby
by USPS. I am now searching for a medical supply company that will deliver my purchases directly to my apartment and not charge me for it.

If you can go ANYWHERE ELSE for your power chair supplies - please do. These people do not understand the meaning of medical emergencies. Every single thing you do through them takes months and months to handle. We've ordered mattress tops from them for bedsores and after 6-months cancelled the order. It is absolutely ridiculous. Now we have been waiting for over 90-days for a new seat cushion and it has not been submitted to insurance. There are excuses at every corner about why things don't happen.
edited to include: I tried to call Kris who responded to this review on 2-different occasions - once as recently as last Weds - no response. After this review was posted, I have still yet to hear anything related to my mothers' chair modifications that she was fitted for back in June.

One of the worse companies I have dealt with.
If you can get your supplies from any where else please do........While I appreciate people from Handi Medical responding to my review, it would have meant more if it had been on one of our calls verses once I made a public review.

This is our go-to store to meet the needs of our beloved mother. We always get great service. The product selection is superior to other stores.
Recently we got above and beyond customer service from Anna. Anna, we are so grateful to you and your supervisor who helped my mom get the lift chair to meet her needy needs. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Staff were slow to respond. Orders sat for months without followup or communication of delays. Don't recommend them for any DME services

If you can go elsewhere you absolutely should! This place is a scam. The second they get an order they immediately send you whatever the order says. This is without ever contacting you to see if want or need the item in the order (it was a BP monitor). They didn't even have our insurance information and never checked to see if item in the order were covered by our insurance (it wasn't, and we already owned two BP monitors!). Then when insurance didn't cover the it, they demand payment for us for an item with massively marked up price. (you can get the same thing for less than a 1/3 the price at Walgreens/Amazon/Walmart...). This place is an absolute scam.

They have a terrible answering system they can't seem to get it fixed. It asks for the person you want and if you don't know the name of that person you're pretty much out of luck unless you wait until it goes through some loops, asks for the name of the person again and if you don't have a name then it asks again. Third time after asking there is a menu that comes on and you can choose an option if you know what it would be, but then often you just sit there and wait, not knowing if you're connected or not. I have to change because I'm tired of this routine. If you go in for service the people are pleasant and helpful enough but they don't listen to instructions. They sent out an order to my house when I specifically asked them to hold the order because I wouldn't be home the next couple of weeks. Now I find through my e-mail that the order is being sent out. So that will sit on my front porch until someone decides to steal it. I can't even get through to them to talk to them about it.

This is sadly a terribly unprofessional company.
My wife was approved for a medical bed after a long wait.
Then, on the day the bed was to be delivered, Handi Medical scheduled a 4 hour delivery window, not worried about wasting half of my day, only for the driver to have been scheduled to come on his own.
I was told I was the first stop, but an hour after opening, the driver (very nice person) called and when I told him that the bed needed to be brought to the second floor, WHICH I HAD CLEARLY DISCUSSED WITH THE SALES PERSON, and was told would be NO PROBLEM, he said he could not do it and we would need to reschedule !!!
The sales person, was either not trained properly about delivery processes, or only worried about making a sale, which is even worse :(

I have something delivered every month. I receive it 2 to 3 days after I ordered it. Very nice to talk to and very helpful.

I’ve been trying to get the correct size incontinence products for my son for over a month. They are one size up and the exact same product he has been using for years.This has been a customer service nightmare. 1) The phone system is a mess. On multiple occasions, I have not been able to connect with an actual person or have been hung up on when I actually do find someone. 2) When the Rx was sent with specific details about what was needed. No one from HANDI called to tell me that they would need to do a prior authorization with Medical Assistance, they just sent another product that isn’t right for him. Then after I called to address the issue, they sent the wrong product again, but in a larger size. 3) Finally found out they needed to do a prior authorization so the Rx got sent to a different department. No contact. Had to follow up again and was told they needed a form from his case manager. Contacted his awesome case manager, he followed up and learned they actually need a letter of medical necessity (LMN) from his doctor. First I heard that was needed. 4)The doctor sent the LMN in Monday. Just called again to see if the product will be arriving soon and was just told I needed an LMN. Put on hold. And then disconnected. So beyond frustrated.In the meantime, I’ve been paying out of pocket for his products because he needs them.

I have been ordering colostomy supplies for 12 years. 2 years ago I changed insurance. Handi medical did NOT tell me it was not in there network . They refused to let me reorder. Terrible company

This place of business seemed very disorganized in that when I needed service I had a hard time finding the same person twice so obtaining service was very inconsistent. I finally quit doing business with them out of frustration.
