This is one of the better Minnesota county museums. The outdoor machine shed is worth a visit. It contains several agricultural tools and several horse drawn vehicles including a post office buggy and ambulance. The museum's large doll collection includes several based on historical figures. Robert Bly fans can visit his cabin on the museum grounds. The salt and pepper collection fills several cases. The museum has a large collection of WWII uniforms. Unusual for Minnesota, the museum hosts a collection of Civil War artifacts. The museum has air conditioning. The museum does not charge admission. Hours may be extended when the Lac Qui Parle fair is on, since the museum is right next to the fairgrounds.
