Loving my local clinic!
My two kittens are absolutely adored here, and it's so nice to have such friendly reception staff, vet techs and veterinarians looking after my fur babies!

They almost always get us in there the very next day when we call with some sort of emergency, and they have a nice system of organization - particularly with reactive dogs who can't be in the same room with other dogs. The vets are also super friendly and knowledgeable. This is by far our favorite vet clinic and we will continue to come here even though we moved to the Uptown area, 30 minutes away. That is how much we love them.

I cannot say enough positive things about the care and compassion of everyone I encountered at Rice Pet Clinic. I was visiting from out of state and had to make the decision every pet owner dreads, to put my sweet boy down. From the moment we entered the building, to the follow up a few weeks after... the thoughtfulness and details are very appreciated. Thank you for taking great care of us during this difficult time.

Dr. Casey was very patient and answered all of my questions. My cat gets very nervous going to the vet, but he was very calm at Rice Pet Clinic. The treatment Dr. Casey provided is already working well for my cat after only a few days. I’m very grateful for her help!

You guys have been taking care of my pets for almost 20 years starting with my cat Casey, then my yorkie, Eddy, and now my basset, Penelope. I couldn't ask for better care for my furry family members. Thank you so much.

My cat had a bowel obstruction and they were able to get him in right away and took amazing care of him. They thoroughly communicated and gave me updates consistently. They also gave me a very transparent quote for surgery which is something I greatly appreciate. Excellent, kind, caring staff! Will be our permanent go-to vet for all our pets now.

They were so so so kind. 100/10 would recommend this vet. Very thorough details and talked over pricing before anything. Made me feel like I’ve been going to that vet for 10+ years when it was my first time.

DOG IS DEAD BUT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED TAKE ELSEWHERE!
Went in on 7/5/24 because my dogs anal gland was infected and erupted. My dog was not eating, shaking, and legethric. My dog had all symptoms of anal glad rupture; including a severely infected anal gland. I had an appointment with Doctor Brianna and the veterinarian assistant was Melissa (Melissa was great by the way).
Prior to the visit, I knew I had to get my dogs anal gland expressed and possible an anal flush. After the doctor, examined my dog she immediately started talking about lymphoma/ lymph nodes, mainly disregarding my dog serious anal gland issue and recommended tests. I tell her I want to focus on the main issue, the anal glad (no issue with lymph nodes prior). Doctor brushes it off and stated there maybe a bigger issue. At this time, I’m just thinking to myself like let’s focus on my dogs anal gland, and redirected back to this issue. Me as an African American woman, this is a primary issue in health care disparities. Doctors not completely listening or paying attention to concerns.
The doctor takes my dog to the back, express glands and to clean the infection area. She comes back and states the anal area is severe infected ( like I told her before she stated it wasn’t a big issue). She states that she will send me home with pain meds and antibiotics.
I ask the doctor if there was any creame or anything I can do, since she was not eating, due to infection. She states no, and states my dog probably won’t live pass the weekend. that. The doctor calls, and I follow up via email with a veterinarian assistant. I ask for anal gland flush pricing. If a dogs impaction is severe, or has become infected, a dog may need to be sedated so that the glands can be flushed out with saline, or a softening solution.
After I send the email about pricing, I receive the below response from the veterinary assistant:
“We do not typically flush anal glands unless they are abscessed (usually this is a hole that is found externally, near the glands). Unless you are seeing this, we advise bringing Khloe in for anal gland expressions as needed to make sure the glands are properly expressing.”
Just wasting time, when pricing could have been provided. When I brung my dog in the anal gland was abscessed and infected! Before I asked for pricing, I already had told the assistant via email, that I was following up with Doctor Brianna from my recent appointment. I already had anal glad expression, and just needed pricing for annul flushing. You provide pricing for any other procedure etc….
I search for a veterinarian clinic in Saint Paul, in hopes I can find doctors and veterinarians that graduated from the University Of Minnesota, the school I attend and a top medical school in Minnesota. I schedule an appointment for anal gland flush at Grand Avenue Veterinary Center. Grand Avenue Veterinary Center provides me with information and pricing within one hour (earliest appointment Friday). I was happy to receive pricing and great customer service from a new clinic.
My dog died today and it could have been prevented. Communication from the veterinary assistant via email, and effective listening from the doctor from the original appointment could have saved my dog. A dog can get sick, as it can advance to an infection, and if the infection is eventually severe enough the dog could die from it as well.
I would like my refund from the horrible experience. However, I know that will never happen. Going to share my experience to my thousands of followers on social media. Take your dog somewhere else, especially if you’re African American for second opinions; I’ll update my review if the clinic makes it right.

The staff went out of their way to make my dog comfortable during her annual exam and care. While I think my dog is perfect I know she has anxiety issues but they were so calm and caring that she let them do whatever they needed to.
