This veterinarian office is a spot I have started to recommend to all of my friends and family. No matter how far the commute, it truly is worth it for the care of our animals. We have been working through a very difficult chronic illness in one of my cats, and I have never felt more welcomed and listened to in a veterinary office. I often struggle with the anxiety of feeling over the top or worrying too much when it comes to my animals, but they have never perpetuated that feeling and they truly help to get rid of it. Dr. Henderson and the lovely vet techs in the office have helped in every way I could list off over the last year and a half. From giving quotes on expected prices for things and working to find more cost effective medications and options rather than just offering the most expensive or easy thing for them, to emailing back and forth helping to answer my numerous questions, and making a referral to a specialist when it came time. It has not been an easy journey and it continues to be a struggle, but their office as a whole makes it a lot easier to deal with as time goes on. Thank you to everyone who works there! I have never left a review on an establishment before, but they deserve for people to see how valued their help is for those of us that continually go to them!

I called last Monday to get my cat in for a first appointment because we just moved back to the area. The receptionist (I can't remember her name) was super apologetic about having to book out a little bit - but just to the following Thursday! Where we moved from I often had to wait at least a couple weeks, usually longer, for anything other than the ER vet. She was also SO nice on the phone.
When we were there for our appointment, we asked the vet about some issues we had been noticing with our cat before and after our move and he was the first vet we've been to that suspected that our cat likely has arthritis and has been uncomfortable. All of our previous vets decided that his occasional peeing outside the litterbox was a behavior issue. We received a prescription for our kitty, and he is like a whole new cat. Back to his old self emotionally, affectionate with our daughter, and no throwing up or unacceptable urination. I feel terrible that he must have been hurting for the last few years and we weren't able to figure it out. We're so happy we took him to Lakes Veterinary!

Dr Henderson and his entire staff were great! We discussed issues regarding my senior dog, he explained test results and treatment strategies. He took the time to address my concerns. The staff were friendly and professional.

I've always brought my dogs here. Its a very welcoming and knowledgeable environment.
This was only the second time I'd brought my girl Kia in. Shepard/Heeler/Husky female.
She's not the most thrilled about entering new spaces with new people, it can be a bit overwhelming for her. But the staff there were very sweet with her, and quick! They got her shots done with before I even relized, let alone Kia!
10/10
I do know the hand full of times I've brought my dogs in, we've met with...
Dr. Henderson, whos very knowledgeable
(+bonus points for chinchilla knowledge)
And Brandy, who is always so sweet and comforting with the dogs.

Just realized I forgot to leave a review. My "mini" Aussie had surgery on her knee that was incredibly extensive. Years later she can run around and jump like nothing ever happened. Absolutely incredible work and the entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable thank you!

Last summer my yorkie injured her back paw somehow and we were being seen by Lakes Veterinary and Surgery in Lindstrom. The entire team here was so helpful and caring towards her. They simply are the best team.

Unfortunately, I would give this place zero stars if I could for the visit I recently had. I have bringing my dog here since he was a puppy and although he hasn't been in for a few years, I was expecting better service than what was received. I initially set an appointment for a nail trim and a rabies shot, it was an additional $75 to have a "wellness exam" since he hasn't been seen for a while, $40 for the nail trim and $27 (?) for the vaccination. Okay, I get it. I went in and the "wellness" exam included the doctor being unable to check my dog's temperature, looking in his ears and then asking me if he had been scratching at them at all, and checking his heart. They didn't weigh him and still had his weight from 3 years ago listed in his file - he had gained significant weight since then. I brought my dog on a retractable leash and collar and I got lectured on why these are bad and why I should be using xyz instead. If it works for us, why would I change it? Then I got a printout of different leashes and harnesses and a print out of a DIY nail board that I could make for my dog.. even though I had come in for a nail trim. In all fairness, my dog was anxious but I guarantee they have worse behaved dogs in there that they do other services on. They didn't do the nail trim, didn't even attempt it, but gave me trazodone to do it at home or when I brought him to the groomer. Unreal. The vet was not personable or friendly at all, and neither was the initially lady who brought us back to our room. Definitely the most unfriendly service from those two, which is very concerning considering the field that they chose to work in. After my appointment, "since it was under $200" I had a 5% fee added on in which I had to pay for with cash or debit card (I paid with care credit). TLDR; I paid $130+ for a rabies vaccination and the most unfriendly vet experience that I have ever encountered. I will be switching my vet and never recommending anyone go to this place.

The entire Lakes Veterinary staff is so friendly, helpful, and kind, plus Dr. Pete is amazing! I relax leaving Nala in their capable hands, knowing she receives excellent care. It’s worth the 30 minute drive.

Excellent care from all staff. Grateful to Dr. Pete for all that he has done for my dog, Kacey. And for Rebecca and Sharon for their assistance and answering my endless questions. I highly recommend Lakes Vet.
