EVERYONE, from the front desk, Allison vet tech, Dr. McNap, were all incredibly patient in answering all my questions. They were incredibly thoughtful with all the details to make my cat's visit as less stressful as possible. I very much appreciated being able to immediately get into a room, and they even came into the room to check me out so I didn't have to have my cat in the carrier in the waiting room unnecessarily. Very thoughtful, thorough, and caring. I'm grateful to have found this vet I can trust.

Dakota Vet Hospital exceeded my expectations in making sure our anxious and scared dog was taken care of by helping us get into a room right away before the wait room got busy. They took their time to get to know my dog so he would get comfortable and gain trust with them before the exam. They were very patient, understanding and kind. They offered suggestions on working with my dog to overcome his fear of everything and everyone. It was a pleasant experience for both myself and my dog. We 100% recommend this vet and their entire staff participated in the great service that we received.

I am absolutely blown away by the time, effort, care, and charisma the three individuals below provided us yesterday and prior to our appointment.
*Backstory: We have been coming to DPH for 1.5 years now after moving to the Lakeville area and were in search of a new vet to call home after dealing with previous below-average care clinics, unfortunately. At the time, we had one rescue dog, whom Dr McNabb treated for heartworm and infected anal glands, and soon added another rescue dog who worked so well with Allison on learning new skills and being able to tolerate stressful situations (in training classes).
*Back to yesterday's appt: We recently had an influx in anxiety in our newest rescue and she could not tolerate the previous two attempts of an annual exam with two other veterinarians at the clinic and we were told she may not be able to be seen unless she is fully sedated, as she would snip (although she is not aggressive and wouldn't bite but we understand and fully respect the concern). Feeling hopeless, Allison spoke with me on the phone for a considerable amount of time at coming up with a plan moving forward to address the issue, which was SUPER beneficial as she works at the clinic, is also an amazing trainer, and ALSO knows our dog from her classes. She also emailed me over additional resources. After re-scheduling for yesterday, I brought our newest rescue pup in again; Kris prepared the room for us to come in right away and both her and Dr McNabb spent a CONSIDERABLE amount of time with her and allowed me to stay with her to comfort her, which worked. I have also never seen both a VT and a Vet go fully down on the floor to her level AND take such considerable time and patience with getting through the exam. They were successfully able to complete her exam (which needs its own recognition in itself), draw blood, and give her shot. Kris also checked us out in the room, which helped considerably with our pup's anxiety at the desk and checking out (something I hadn't thought of until now) and made a note in her chart to utilize this said plan moving forward for all of her visits. Dr McNabb then came back in and spent an additional 20-30 minutes with me discussing treatment and care ideas after this and did not seem rushed or annoyed with any questions I asked as follow up. She also assured me that they will continue meeting her (newest rescue pup) where she is at, which I found very validating. By this point, our pup was so content with her in the room it was comical. Dr McNabb truly has a graceful presence that seems to relax dogs naturally.
In addition, prior to our newest rescue pup's appointment, our 3 year old rescue also needed his anal glands expressed (as I mentioned above he has a history of them being infected) and was only needing to see a VT, however Dr McNabb popped in and saw him just to make sure there were no issues--something she totally did not need to do but took the time to do so. As I said above, I am beyond impressed with this clinic and all of its staff members who never act annoyed or irritable and truly love their jobs.
A sincere thank you from us and we cannot wait to continue to have our four-legged children go to your clinic for care or refer others to your clinic!

Our now THREE girls go to Dakota Pet Hospital for all of their healthcare needs. We have taken our pets there for 30 years. We especially love DR. DEB MCNAB, and Chris is wonderful, too. Thank you for your exceptionally caring healthcare for our three rescue girls and for understanding how very much they mean to us - our three, precious, beloved fur children!

This is the only place I'll take my little girl. She actually loves going to the vet! We have been coming here for the first 8 years and hopefully for at least 8 more. We started off with the puppy package, which included all of her shots for the first couple of years, a micro chip, & spade or neutering. Recently, when we had to call 911 three days in a row for my elderly mother, my little girl got so stressed out from it that it gave her diareah, and they took care of us asap. You will not find better service anywhere.

I've used this clinic for years, and established positive relationships with much of the staff and my vet, Dr McNab. However, even tho the vets and vet techs are great, someone at the front desk and especially the office manager destroy one's confidence in the clinic. Recently my pets were ill following dental treatments, and I was reasonably upset on the phone. No empathy was shown by someone at the front desk, who relayed my exasperation to the office manager who reviewed the phone tape. The office manager chastised me on a phone call later that day. Previous to that incident, I attempted to schedule treatment (medical baths) for the VA service dog per his vet's order, and was denied the treatment because the groomer was "too busy." Again, I was reasonably upset and complained to the front desk. (This incident occurred about 3 years ago.) Recently the office manager apparently overheard a conversation I had with someone at the front desk when I picked up my dog's meds, and she misinterpreted a joke. I was subsequently banished from the clinic without warning and before I could find another veterinarian, told by the office manager that Dakota Pet will no longer be available to me and my pets; I cannot enter the building ( even though I support a disabled veteran and his service dog) citing a "pattern" of behavior on my part. The owner, Anne Krake, should know her clinic lost $$$ since I was a loyal customer and have 3 pets. I do not recommend this disfunctional clinic.

Getting a young cat in and out with his yearly checkup and getting his vaccines. They had his fecal labs done before I left, and that was fast. Great friendly staff and vet care here.

Dakota Pet has always treated my pets like family. They’re quick to get you seen in an emergency and don’t mind the random phone calls to help with any questions or concerns.
