Overpriced and dangerously incompetent. Avoid this place at all costs if you can!
Let me start by saying that this animal hospital used to be great when I first started bringing my feline companion here pre-covid and before they expanded. As other reviews have pointed out, they went corporate and it shows. My most recent experiences with them back in April prompted me to find new care immediately.
Google won't allow me to post the whole story because it exceeds the character limit, so I'm uploading my story as photos for anyone who is interested in reading.
TLDR: They prescribed my cat a medication that was contraindicated for another condition he has, overdosed him on antibiotics, allusively blamed me for their mistake, and charged me thousands of dollars for unnecessary tests and medications when a simple change in food (which I requested from the beginning) would have resolved the issue.

Everyone here is amazing and I love the care they have always given to my animals. I’ve gone here since I was a child and live a bit further out now but I will always make the drive here for my furchildren.

Find an alternative if your animal is sick! They will upsell you when they're better and cheaper options! Had an appointment for our French bulldog awhile back. She was having some issues with her nose/breathing as expected with Frenchies. Everything went fine and the appointment went well, although even during the appointment an expensive option was presented to us if things got worse. Things did get worse and I spoke with the vet about the situation when it occurred. She explained that an MRI would be the only next option (very expensive). Some time passed and we called and left a message for them to make an appointment to see if we had other options with no call back whatsoever. My girlfriend then called back after a week to see what's going on and they said the vet would call us back. We never received a call. We then made an appointment with a different veterinarian and they were able to a) put a scope up her nose , b)do an X-ray. They then found that our dog has pneumonia and prescribed the proper medications to clear it up. All for a reasonable price. Our dog could of died because of this damn place. If you're rich this place may be for you, but for the middle class do not trust them with decisions regarding your loved one.
Update: We did finally get a call back, one day after this review was posted. ?

I have been going to IGH Animal Hospital since 1995. My dogs and cats are my children. I trust the veterinarians there, especially Dr. Jim Winsor, with the health of my kids.
2024: The practice has changed quite a bit since they became part of Lakefield. Previously, you could get same day appointments in emergency situations; not so now (at least for me). Thus I have spent quite a bit of money going to emergency clinics. And IGH prices have skyrocketed!! I really like the vet and techs that care of my kids. Unfortunately, because of their exorbitant prices and their policy of no same day appointments, I am very seriously considering finding a new vet clinic. I truly miss Drs. Jim Winsor and Dr. Valenti.

Dr Ellis is excellent! She always takes the time to answer our questions and has provided excellent care for both our 2 and 6 year old weimaraners. The entire team is friendly and makes us feel welcome, even during stressful times.

Absolutely the best. I drive two and a half hours one way to have them take care of our Boxers, and have for nearly 20 years.

In our most recent visit, Dr. Lucas Wallerich told us that "older dogs don't lose their hearing. They just become selective about when to listen." WHAT? I should have saved myself some cash and Googled it first. We've been going here for years, but unfortunately, something has changed recently. I'll be moving to another vet clinic.

Dr. Ellis is the worst vet I’ve ever dealt with. Had the personality & bedside manner of a wet mop. Whoever wrote her bio should win an award for creative writing.

Bad experience!
I'm an in-home poodle breeder that needed some veterinary support for my small program. I found Inver Grove Animal Hospital online and decided to schedule some services with them.
The first few times I was there went well. After that the staff seemed to become more flustered and confused on their policies which left me feeling uneasy and unsure of their capabilities.
I was denied progesterone testing until I could have my regular veterinarian send a copy of my poodles rabies certificate, but only after they had done several progesterone tests already. This happened over the weekend on a Saturday right before both clinics closed and my dog needed additional progesterone testing the following Monday. Fortunately my regular vet is awsome and was able to get the records sent over right away, but it certainly caused undue stress to the situation.
As a breeder marketing is an important part of being able to secure my puppies good homes and I do everything within my ability to find homes before the puppies are born, including taking videos of the process from start to finish. I've taken videos at other vet clinics before, and they've always understood what an important impact this can have on the successful placement of puppies.
I had taken a couple videos at Inver Grove Hieghts Animal Hospital during my last few visits, and unexpectedly got a phone call from the office manager telling me that taking pictures and videos is not allowed on the premises. In my past experience I've usually found this to be an issue with an organization that doesn't want the public to see what's going on inside, which brings up red flags for me personally.
I believe in transparency and clear comunication and those are not things that were represented well here.
Please do your own due diligence on researching a business before conducting business with them. If I had done that I may have saved myself the hassle of needing to switch vet clinics in the middle of getting important tests done. Thankfully there are other clinics available, that I was able to locate who are able to accommodate reasonable needs.

I called to get my sick cat seen, could not get into my regular vet, the ad says same day appointments available, yes, available for their established patients only, no new patients same day. After reading several reviews, looks like this is a dog clinc for reproductive services? Not sure, saw only one cat review

My mom used to work here a few decades ago, so she has continued to use IGH Animal Hospital for her pets and has had nothing but positive interactions. Before bringing my pets here, I accompanied my mom a few times for her pets' appointments and saw how amazing everyone here is. For my own pets' appointments, I have received the same fantastic service these wonderful folks provide. The entire staff is so friendly and professional, the veterinarians are top-notch and the clinic itself is great. The IGH Animal Hospital has helped us with everything from annual visits to emergency visits and euthanasia services with a grace and compassion that I haven't seen anywhere else. I couldn't imagine taking my pets anywhere else and would highly recommend IGH Animal Hospital to any person and their furry family!
