We have had nothing but excellent experiences at Neuman K-9 Academy. We had our puppy go through the 4 week training school and it was so worth it! She wasn't our first puppy, but she was the first puppy we sent to Neuman and she is by far the best behaved dog we have had! The boarding option is icing on the cake. When we board her she gets a refresher on what she learned in school. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and flexible. I would highly recommend!

After reading the reviews, exploring the website (especially the FAQS), and talking to Josiah, we decided to send our 4 month , high energy, Shiba Inu to the 12 week puppy camp. Prior to Neuman, our puppy was biting ankles, chewing furniture, pulling/spinning on leash, barking incessantly (the list goes on). After the 12 week camp, we now have a trained puppy with the best behavior. It's remarkable!! Our life is so much better now. She stays in her crate without barking, she follows the commands, and, above all, no biting. The GO HOME INSTRUCTIONS have proven to be invaluable in continuing our puppy's learning. We cannot believe all she has learned. I was worried that she would not remember us since Neuman had her longer than we did, but that worry was unfounded. She is still the same Shiba - quirky, funny, sweet. And, she still still does the crazy Shiba spins.Sending our puppy to Neuman was truly the best decision!! All of the 5 star reviews are spot on. We were so grateful for others sharing their experience. The entire Neuman staff is outstanding. I cannot say enough about them! The communication is excellent. When they say to call or email with any questions you have, they truly mean it. Plus, they get back to you right away. They want you and your dog to be successful. When I sent an email with a question, their answers were specific and instructive. I never had to circle back.If you live out of state like we do, no need to worry about your dog, We felt so comfortable leaving our puppy with Neuman. Also, we dropped her off for boarding 3 days prior to puppy camp so she could get acclimated to her new surroundings. So worth it!If you have never had a well-trained dog or considered it, this is the place! It is a great investment. We learned so much, and so did our puppy! We are thrilled to be Neuman lifers.

We love the team at Neuman K-9 Academy! Our dog Penny is a graduate of the 8 week boot camp (2023) and our previous dog Piper was a graduate as well (2011). We had such a great experience with Piper that we knew when we got another dog that we had to send her to Neuman for training as well. Penny is a smart but stubborn girl and the training really helped with her basic commands, jumping, and behavior on walks. Neuman gave us the tools we needed to correct behavior and enjoy having her in our family. I can't say enough good things about Josiah and the team at Neuman K-9; very responsive, flexible, great with the dogs - and the boarding is an added bonus!

Our dog Finn is a graduate of the Newman K-9 4-week Puppy Camp. Finn, a Saint Bernard Mix, was 8 months old when we were trying to decide on a place to take him for general obedience training. As first time dog owners we knew the importance of having a well trained dog considering his size. Although he had some of the basics prior to camp, he was developing some poor habits based on the fact we were novice dog owners who knew very little about training. While Finn was away at camp we really missed him but we were comforted by the weekly updates and photos describing his progress. The staff was very professional. At the end of camp, prior to the graduation ceremony, Josiah provided a half day training session for us, the rookie dog handlers, so that we would understand the commands and the process of how Finn was trained. Afterwards Mya brought Finn out to meet us and to help us practice the commands with Finn. She provided helpful feedback that has allowed us to work with Finn at home. This A+ experience at Neuman K-9 Academy has allowed us to enjoy Finn even more at home and has enabled us to take Finn on daily Field Trips out and about. We are so pleased with how Finn behaves and would highly recommend Neuman K-9 Acadamy!

We can't say enough great things about Neuman K-9 Academy! For years, friends had taken their dogs to Neuman's and raved about the results. We never saw the need for such an intensive program since we've had 4 fairly well-behaved dogs over the years. Well, our 5th dog came along with tons of anxiety that lead to picking fights and dog aggression... we knew it was time to get some serious training and work on her confidence.Our 2 dogs spent 8 weeks with Neuman's and the results have been amazing! Our anxious dog is gaining confidence by the day and both dogs are rocking the commands! The handler training that you receive when you pick up your dogs is invaluable to maintaining the results long-term. We are looking forward to our first boarding with Neuman's where they'll get to see old friends and get some refreshers on their training. We highly recommend this program!

We are very happy with the training that our dog Autumn received from Neuman Academy. She returned to us healthy, happy, and ready to be part of our family again. We were given training tools and guidance the day we picked her up and were trained ourselves... very helpful. When we first dropped her off we were worried about the 2 months without her and decided long term that it was in our family's best interest. We are glad we did it. We are continuing follow through with the training at home and Autumn has more ability to be with us around the house because of the training.

Neuman K-9 Academy exceeded our expectations. Our puppy attended the four week puppy training and her change has been remarkable. Our family now enjoys taking her for walks and she has much more freedom due to her incredible manners. We trust the staff and truly believe in the program that we are driving the 45 minutes when we need boarding. She will continue to work on her training skills while we are on vacation. Sold!!!!

I have put two Malinois through the 12 week bootcamp and I have nothing but positive things to say. The trainers know their space well and fully understand dogs and their behavior. Neuman K-9 Academy has created a full service program that is geared toward success for the dog and the owner(s). My experiences continue to be warm, friendly and educational. The programs they provide are well defined with consistent structure to align expectations. I continue to board my Malinois through their exclusive program allowing some minor tune ups and a safe place for him to be while I'm away. The facility is top notch, well run and has been worth every dollar I've spent with them.

We first heard about Neuman's when we came across a 1.5 year old pup with the most impressive off leash recall we had ever seen and knew we had to look into the training. We sent our Spanish Water Dog, Tuna, to the 12 week boot camp and it was the best decision we made for him (and us!). I cannot say enough about the professionalism, quality and care Neuman's trainers provide. Tuna came back the most well behaved version of himself and we learned how to communicate with him. As first time dog owners to a high energy breed, it was the best investment we made. I highly recommend Neuman's bootcamp program to all our friends and family and we will definitely be enrolling future dogs in the program as well!

I had my lovely Grace trained by Neuman Academy and could not be happier with their professional service. I choose the 12 week puppy training and I thought it worth the extra 4 weeks for Grace to be more secure in her obedience. Since my whippet Grace was trained by the Academy, i can benefit from their boarding service as well, for which i am thankful. Grace is getting a brother and planning on taking him to the academy as well :)

My GSD, Presley, went to the 12 week boot camp when she was just a puppy. I cannot say enough great things about the team and programs at Neuman! My husband and I travel all the time for work. Presley goes everywhere with us! We take her to conventions, work functions, hotels, and even restaurants, and we always get comments about how well behaved she is. She was 4 months old when she went to boot camp.When we travel out of the country, or if there is a time she cannot go with us, we board her at Neuman and their boarding is top notch as well!We also used the 2 week refresher program when we were in Spain recently. The program happened to be going on while she would have been boarded so we just enrolled her in that. Presley LOVES to work and she loves the activities they do with them at Neuman! Presley is a year old now and still perfectly behaved!If you are on the fence about the program, I highly recommend you just do it. They mean it when they say they are there for support even after your dog graduates! They will coach you and teach you how to keep your dog to their training and continue learning. If you have a question, no matter how simple, they quickly give you answers!Thank you to Josiah and the team at Neuman! You all are awesome!

YETTI AND ANUBIS ALLENOWNERS: Matt and Lisa AllenNeuman K-9 Academy is absolutely amazing when it comes to dog training. We enrolled our two dogs, Yetti (Boxer) and Anubis (Saluki) in the 12 week boot camp and are so peased with the results!Before their boot camp stay, our dogs were out of control. Yetti, our 2 year old Boxer, has always been a handful and was kicked out of for two doggy daycares. He countered surfed all the time, (he would even dig in the sink to get dishes out!), refused to follow simple commands, and walking him was similar to being pulled down the street by a freight train. Life with him consisted of wearing him out and hoping he would grow out of his behaviors. Anubis, our 10 month old Saluki was also difficult to control and unfortunately learned from his big brother how to be naughty. In addition, being a sight hound, he loved, and needed, to run. However, we couldn’t find a way to allow this as he had to be leashed all the time as he would run away or into the street. In short, it was difficult to enjoy the dogs, have people at our house or to take the dogs for a simple walk! I was exhausted all the time.We had always planned to send the dogs to Neuman Academy, which we had used in the past for our previous two dogs and the results were remarkable. However, I was concerned, as our current pups were much more of a handful! But off they went for the three month program.I cannot say enough about how professional, knowledgeable, and reassuring Josiah, Summer and their team were during our dogs’ stay. (Just like the first time) We received weekly updates and could tell our boys were being cared for and well trained.Upon returning home, we were absolutely amazed at the “new dogs” we had. They listen to their commands, NO leash pulling or counter surfing, and people can visit without being “attacked” by an overly excited dog. In addition, Anubis can now run, like he is meant to, and will not leave my sight to chase something. I can call him back and he responds. We can take our dogs places and not worry they will get into trouble. We constantly hear how amazing our dogs are from people we meet. Plus, the best part, their fun loving, silly personalities are still there, and I believe they are happier as they get to do more things.Last of all, Josiah and his team told us that we had to continue working on their training. We knew that was something we needed to prioritize. What we didn’t know is how much we would enjoy training them as we see the benefit for all of us.We cannot recommend Neumann K-9 Academy enough. It is well worth the investment as they really understand dogs and offer you a chance to not just have dogs, but have lifetime companions!Matt and Lisa AllenPrior Lake, Minnesota

I could not be happier with my experience with Neuman K9 Academy! Signed my boy up for the 12 week boarding school & I see every day all the work they put in to train him. The check-in process was a breeze. The weekly updates with pictures were very much appreciated. Graduation day / handler training was also very well done & very much needed to ensure my pups' success at home. Another thing I like is that they offer boarding to dogs who have graduated from one of their programs. This makes me feel so much more comfortable boarding my pup while I am away because I know he will be greatly looked after & they know how to handle his specific training/commands.
