Sambusa Halal is a hole-in-the-wall East African restaurant serving Somali food. The building is rustic and the establishment is not a vibe, but more of an American dream in the making. It is a lively place, though more for take-out with some places to sit. The staff are always friendly and brisk in taking orders, providing great service. The food is filling and amazing with huge, common Somali-sized portions. Dishes include Sambusa, a fried patty filled with meat with a nice spicy kick, and combo plates with rice. The goat meat plate is a star, featuring tender, bone-in goat atop rice; the rice soaks up the juice and is super delicious and flavorful. The meat combo is particularly liked. They also offer a fish combo. The hot sauce is really good but really spicy for the average person. For vegetarians, almost everything has meat in it. A salad comes with meals but is forgettable. The drinks come with the meal. The restaurant needs some love and can be kind of pricey, but it is a fun place to pick up food to eat at home if you're tired of cooking. Be aware of active construction in the area.
Nice selection of items especially the dates and coffee. The staff was friendly and welcoming

My dad and got one meat and one fish combo which we ordered with rice . The rice was super delicious and I ended up liking the meat combo more ! The only thing I wish is that they had more space to sit but overall great service.
