Follow up visit: I needed something that involved looking for many little parts. I am visually impaired, blind in one eye, which means if I have to focus too much, I forget to blink in the other eye, making me unable to find little parts, let alone even read, (until my drops work, which takes minutes, and I didn’t have my drops… Oops)
Micah came to the rescue, bless his heart. At the detriment to other customers and the cash register likes up front, Micah took the time / he saw (pun intended), I needed help, and it was a success. The part we were looking for the piece we put together worked splendidly.

We stopped for fishing licenses and a bit of tackle. Employees were very knowledgeable and friendly. Thanked me for my service upon seeing the veteran ID on my license. Enjoying some hot cocoa in our souvenir mugs after some hiking and sledding. Thank you!

Bought 4 gallons of diesel fuel, paying at the pump with a debit card. Card was charged $175.00 for what should have been under $20. The pump did not produce a receipt. I foolishly left without going inside to get a receipt printed. I'm left to assume this is a pre-authorization charge, but that was not made clear. I've never had this happen at any other gas station. I would go to any of the other gas stations in Grand Marais before buying more fuel at Bucks.UPDATE: Called my bank, when I could not get through to Bucks by phone. The bank tells me the $175 is not a pre-authorization, but an actual charge to my card.

Do not put gas here. There is a warning for an authorization charge if you pay at the pump bit no warning for how much it can be up to. Maybe next time clarify it can be UP TO $175 holding charge that won't clear up for 24 hours.Appreciate the reply but I think you're missing my point: the warning sign and the discount you offer are adequate but it would be better if you stated that the holding charge can be up to $175 and last up to 5 days. That is what your gas customers need to be aware of. Rating stands.

Preauthorized $175 to our credit card when we paid at the pump for our gas. Nobody would expect their credit card to be authorized for that amount when paying at the pump. Do you think cars have a 35 gallon plus gas tank capacity?There is a real gas station just across the street, and thousands of other stations all around the country, that won't do this. I'd recommend using them instead for your fuel needs.
