Not happy. We chartered a trip with them in June for a half day of fishing .The captain said to meet him on the dock at 7am on the 10th of August. We were there at 6:45, nobody else showed. At 7:15 I called their number and, a recording gave 2 other numbers to call as this one was not being answered. At 7:45, someone finally answered. She said the captain was not taking any charters, as he was I'll.No phone call to cancel, nothing. Not even an apology for the inconvenience and inconsiderate attitude.Very disappointing.

We love this place! If you’re looking for an off-the-grid cabin (wood heated, no electricity, outhouse) with great cross country ski trails, this is the spot for you. My husband and friends lucked out when they happened upon Bally Creek many years ago and it’s been a mainstay for us for years. A true gem in the rough!

I missed the part in the brochure that there was no electricity. Did not see it anywhere on the brochure. When it said lantern available I assumed to see when heading to the outhouse etc. after arriving at our cabin MC I was going to plug in my husband’s breathing machine and realized then NO ELECTRICITY. Then the bed was 5 ft off the floor and need to use the ladder to get on the bed. Well husband is disabled with back issues and I had recent knee replacement and there was NO WAY we were getting in that bed. The reservations were only made a few days ago and when we called to cancel they refused to give us our money back due to health reasons not allowing us to stay in the cabin. So we lost $300 for a 2 night stay we had to cancel.

I drove out here and the guy got the shop locked down during regular business hrs. When I call him he flat out told me he’s busy and cant help me. Why even say you’re open? Stop wasting peoples time..

If you're looking for a quiet get away and go back in time with no running water, no electricity, away from people, than this is your place!! Easy access to Superior hiking trail, boundary Waters canoe area. Or just to sit around a camp fire. We stayed for 5 days in the PJ cabin and loved it. We'll be back!!

The outfitter is definitely run by a caring set of individuals who have been in this business for a good amount of years. We used this outfitter to do a hiking trip through Isle Royale. If you do not own any equipment and do not want to purchase this is probably a good way to go. The downside to this is you should know that the equipment for the hiking side is not terribly modern. We had lots of questions from other hikers on why we were using large external frame packs.I also highly suggest going over how to use the packs with the outfitter and making sure everything on your list is in the kits. We did not review how to use their packs ahead of the trip and it made for a harder first day of hiking then we had planned.

Great outfitter. Their cannoes seemed kept under good repair and were very clean. They appeared to be full service and had a small shop of supplies for the wilderness incase something was forgotten. They were knowledgable about any questions we had for them and helped us secure Cannoes on foam car top carriers they provided, simular to most BWCAW outfitters. At the time I rented they also offered Cannoe delivery/pickup to BWCAW entry points. They are very close to the Ranger station.
