“A little something for everyone that brings back childhood memories, from clothes and nicknacks to toys and games. With antiques and vintage to holidays and Disney, over 60 vendors each uniquely showcased, in an indoor market experience.”
“Love coming to shop for the perfect look for a special occasion. The prices are very fair, in my experience shopping vintage in Minneapolis. Even still, I am willing to pay more than I would at a thrift store, because the curation is lovely, and Amanda will clean, mend, and press/steam garments, so I know I can wear it the same day I purchased it. And I have!”
“This place is great! I had a very simple zipper repair that I just lacked the tools for myself, and they repaired my zipper on the spot in 5 minutes for just $20. Super lovely and helpful, and they do give you a discount if you pay in cash.”
“Feels like a natural history museum where (almost) everything is for sale. Unique, beautiful, and fascinating finds at surprisingly accessible prices. The store is always evolving, with new stuff coming in, making every visit fresh and exciting. Yes, I work there but it’s my favorite place so just let me gush about it okay :) <3
Pro Tip- Park in the Wells Fargo bank lot- that branch has been closed for some time so it’s free and easy to park there if you’re visiting the shop!”
“I've been looking for a credenza for media in the living room for months and MAD had several wonderful options that I could be sure were high quality and well restored. Doug was super friendly and easy to work with and even delivered this enormous piece of furniture to my second floor condo! I'm so happy with how this completes my space and will return to MAD for other piece I want to invest in for the long term.”
“Super rad vintage items!!! Support local! Books, records, clothes, & much more. The layout is very intentional and easy to look through as many vintage shops can be very haphazard or cluttered, this place is not! Very nice. They may have to close or move soon and they're too good to go so please come check them out! They have an instagram as well. & The prices are amazing!!!!”
“Most professional and reliable tailoring in Minneapolis. I've been using sewbiz for a decade and have always received the best tailoring for suits and casual clothing.”
“Absolutely a must-stop for a shopping spree when your child outgrows their clothing size. This store is managed so well; color-coded, generously stocked, affordably priced, friendly staff, that I do make it a priority to stop here while in the area. Speaking as someone who lives on the east side of the cities with the Woodbury/Maplewood stores, the Eden Prairie location offers a very different and superior shopping experience you will be delighted about.”
“I rarely walk out empty handed. A solid third of my vintage/thrifted heavy wardrobe made its way to me via Timebomb. I hit up lots of thrift stores and when I’m looking for something truly retro (maybe pre 2005?) it’s worth it to hit up a place with a more curated selection. Im so glad you exist!”
“Pink Elephant is not only easily the best of the four antique/vintage stores on Main Street in Hopkins, but also is easily one of the best in the Twin Cities.
Not the largest, it's absolutely packed with quality goods. Its collection gets updated often enough it's a treasure hunt every time I go in. Plus the folks that run it are welcoming and fun.”
“Front of the store has some really great artwork, furniture, and lighting. Pricing system has regular markdowns so with a little patience and luck you could get a great deal.”
“I'm new to consignment shopping, but just 2 trips here, and I am completely hooked!! The VIBE in this place!! So. Much. FUN!! The gals working are so friendly and helpful and it is obvious that they love their work here. I will be back again, and again, and again!!! ❤️”
“I really wanted to like it more, but the lack of sorting by size is ridiculous. I'm an XL and very few of their items fit and it's too much work finding anything.”
“My wife and I have shopped at Fashion Avenue in Edina for several years. They have a great selection and the pricing is fair. it's upscale quality merchandise and the people running the place are always nice to deal with.”
“My 99 year old father in law sells his Antique Treasures here almost all the sellers are who are the workers there they each work 2 days per month when selling goods at this store... so if you get a bad experience with a worker mostly they won't be in there the next time if you try them again! Most of the people selling in there are Antiques Themselves! Nice people and caring you can offer them less it never hurts to ask. It's Great they have this place to keep them busy and memories of times gone by”
“Cool selection of items, I like to get jewelry and jackets here usually or just wander around and look at stuff. Usually a bit out of my price range when it comes to clothes. A lot of non-vintage items (especially accessories) but not a big turn off for me.”
“Good prices, good finds, occasional rare items. Always a good selection of clothes. Don't miss half off on a particular color, where I cannot pass up picking up a book or two each time shopping.”
“Love this spot! I usually purchase things off of their Instagram for pick up. The staff are so kind and are always cheerful when I stop in. The selection is definitely well thought-out and well-priced. You're able to get great clothes at fabulous prices.”
“Fabulous vintage store with beautiful clothes and jewelry! The staff and owner are knowledgeable, welcoming and treat you like a friend. I highly recommend The Golden Pearl.”
“Great place to find that rare item you didn't know you needed or couldn't find other places. Everything from jewelry, art, sterling, furniture, etc. With items always making their way out and new items coming in, this is a fun shop to check out when in the area. Staff is friendly and helpful, parking lot available out front.”
“this is the thrift store i go back to most often in the city :) it’s pretty easy to get to either walking or by bus which makes it a nice option for those of us who don’t have cars. i love stocking up on lightbulbs here when i need them + i think a good 60 percent of my wardrobe is from here at this point. staff are really friendly and knowledgeable. i also think they’ve done a great job reorganizing the clothing area in the past year, it’s much easier to navigate now.”
“This place had a fantastic selection of vintage clothing. The prices reflected the fact that this store was much more curated so be prepared to shell out a bit more. I got a nice University of Minnesota sweatshirt and some jeans here. Will come back next time I'm in Minneapolis”
“Talk about a hole in the wall, a hidden gem, or a diamond in the rough! I love thrifting and checking out all the places to do so when visiting a new town. If I were to come back to the twin cities, I would be sure to stop into the Cat and the Cobra! Locating the store was a little harder than anticipated. It is in the back of the parking lot behind the locked door, but it is the first door inside the building. Not to mention the cool vibes and architecture of the building. I highly recommend walking around and checking it out. There was an amazing selection of any article of clothing you were looking for. I would say the majority of the items were typically priced. Some articles hanging were a little overpriced, but the best part was the bins in the back of the store! I found two shirts in the bins that were $5 each! It was a STEAL of a deal for vintage t-shirts in the condition they were in. I got one ESPN shirt and a Strigus 2006 shirt. Not to mention how fun it is to shift through bins to find those hidden gems of shirts. In addition to a more expensive rainforest cafe t-shirt that was hanging on the walls of shirts. Overall, the service, selection, and value of the store and its articles were top-tier for vintage thrift! I highly recommend stopping in!”
“OH MY GOSH! Stumbled up this cute place by accident. It is so eccentric and eclectic.
The way she has each area set up is so artistic and amazing. Everything is for sale.ans she has coffee in the kitchen.
Love the homemade lamp shades.”
“The selection is out of this world! So much clean, like-new beautiful items. I would need at least eight hours to get through all the things I want to look at. I love dresses and found many beautiful items. I would come here instead of the mall. I enjoyed my shopping here.”
“They really get a great variety of things to browse through. Housewares are very reasonable, clothes and furniture seem a little high to me. Great place to go when you don't know what you "need" but a little retail therapy is in order!”
“Fun store with unique and ever-changing products that includes both old and new. Great curated collection and super fund to browse. Check their facebook page for the latest hours as their only open monthly-ish.”
“Clothing mentor Eden Prairie is fantastic if you’re looking for designer stuff or want to sell come here these people are amazing ! Amazing staff! Thao and Millie are fantastic”
“Great selection! Some of the reviewers here clearly don’t know the effort that goes into not just being a shop, but also PRIMARILY a safe space for many women to gather. Me being a customer comes secondarily to me financially supporting this space.”
“Empty the Nest is an occasional secondhand store with lots of unique finds, tucked in an office strip off the beaten path. They are typically open weekends but you'll want to join the 45k other facebook followers and keep an eye out for their hours and sales. There will likely be a line waiting for the doors to open on the first day of the sale. The second day they may discount everything 50%, sometimes more. Be sure to grab some green sold stickers near the entrance to claim your find in case another shopper is interested.
The reason they aren't open during the week is because the are busy emptying out houses as a part of their business model.
We enjoy bringing the kids and finding fun vintage toys and decor.
You'll definitely want to check it out of you love the thrill of the treasure hunt aspect!”
