If I could give no stars I would. Maybe even negative stars. This "moving" company will be your biggest nightmare. I had decided to go with this moving company for my long distance move across the country....and let me tell you, this was the biggest mistake I had made. Don't be fooled by their sales tactics. Their sales team and any form of communication that precedes the move is excellent into making you think they are a "professional moving company" as they say. However, no professionalism was displayed once they receive their initial payment. Speaking of initial payment, they will significantly under quote you. But, once they load up their truck don't be surprised if your quote is increased by more than 50%. I paid nearly double what I was quoted and they tack on a bunch of other fees along the way. Communication will be one of the biggest issues...you end up getting the runaround once they load up the truck. No one returns your phone calls, no one picks up the phone, and no one can tell you when you'll get your stuff. They truly make you feel as if your belongings have been taken for ransom making you feel like maybe you'll never see them again. I was told one too many times that my things would be arriving one day, but then nothing. You essentially have to stop your life for at least a week by the time your things finally show up. Although, I must say, I was one of the lucky ones. They only lost 3 of my items and broke a lamp. But, they did try to deliver items that were not mine and also attempted to take my things despite me telling them they were mine. This company goes by multiple names so be sure to avoid any company listed under 3657 N Laramie Ave (My Chicago Movers, Premier Chicago Movers, A&F Moving and Storage, Great Van Lines, All Around Van Lines).

Do NOT let them touch your things!!! We initially booked through a brokerage - trinity moving and storage and this is who they sent. Well I should say they sent a & f moving and storage- however when they came to our house in Cleveland on a full service move to Houston they wanted us to sign a new contract wich said my chicago movers?? Strange. Then they said we had to give them a cash or cashiers check for half of the move. Mind you- they showed up more than 3 hours late and more than 7 hours off the original contracted time. Obviously we didn't sign and then after they left I started doing some digging and thank god I did because as you can see the reviews are terrifying!! Thank you yelp and all the people for their warnings. I feel that we dodged a billet and luckily still have all of our things and were able to find a reputable company last minute to get our full service w move completed on time. ( msg moving) Some other names they have been know to have a & f / my chicago movers/ chicago moving and I'm sure more. When we asked in text for Contract they sent us the a and f one- then we asked for the one we saw yesterday and they tried cutting the name off - but as you can see the logo is the same Hopefully this review will save someone else from losing all their life's belongings. I know the other reviews helped me!!!

BE AWARE!!!!! They Use different names and ask for money in cash and upfront and make you sign a different contract before delivering your property. Some of out stuff (lawnmower, tool box etc) DISAPPEARED?!?!. Everything they moved was damaged even the things that they packed themselves. They even broke precious memories that were packed between pillows. We have 33 videos of the distruction of our property and 4 witnesses. Now comes the fun part for us. We will close this company down and sue them for everything they have or see that someone goes to jail for this.

Since I don't know which company is which or who is separate, I'm leaving reviews for ALL of them. Note my reviews on Excalibur Moving and MAAG Enterprise. They are TERRIBLE! Hire someone else! I ended up getting stuck with a broker who lied and said they were movers. They hired MAAG which is already hard to find online or on DOT or anywhere. The company that delivered my items were My Chicago Moving who said they were also MAAG Enterprises... odd. One company, two names - or more? Who knows? MAAG wasn't the name that picked up, either (as in name on the shirts. I wish I would've written it down, but I didn't). They delivered my items in June, it's now January. I still do not have a resolution to my claim. I had a small move, my items arrived in terrible condition. Boxes were broken (like they were dropped multiple times), some pulled open, water damage to little wooden tray tables, damage to bookshelves (because they taped them), damage to my brand new mini freezer, and more. Additionally, they stole some of my items. I asked the movers about it, and they just shrug saying they got my stuff like that. Really? And you don't try to re-tape it or do a damn thing to protect your customer and their belongings. They tried to blame it on the trucks being inspected at stops. Yeah no, never heard of that or had it happen before in my multiple moves. Anyways, upon contacting them, they sent me to movingclaims.net. That was a trial! It is nearly impossible to get someone on the phone. You have to dig for a number, then go through an endless set of prompts that makes the DMV look simple. I literally went in circles with one choice after another to try to find a combination that got me a human. She was horrible, rude, and unhelpful. After a few months, they contact me back offering me $70! This doesn't even being to cover the damage nor compensate me for the additional $300 they wanted to charge me because they couldn't fit the truck in the parking lot here so they had to transfer to a uhaul instead. All in all, the actual worst move I've ever experienced! [Note that MAAG Enterprise is on my contract. The company that showed up said My Chicago Movers so who knows what name they may be utilizing now. Check DOT numbers, ask for prior names of the company].

After quoting a price "guaranteed" they charged 300.00 more after packing and loading my items. Then didn't bother to google the address where they were going, called me 24hrs before dropping my items after 14days.... and charged another 300.00 because the semi couldn't fit on a side street. Lost my bedrails, damaged other items that were brand new and offered pennies on the dollar. After going back and forth with their insurance company, received an email that they no longer work with them. So, I'm on my own after 7months. Joke of a company!!

UPDATE: The movers have now had my items for 38 days and are expected to deliver in the next 2-3 days, they are now charging me an extra $250 for delivery that was never told to me before. Please people, NEVER book with this company, SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE! I would highly caution anyone from booking with Great Lakes Van Lines, they have had my items for 18 days now and it still hasn't left my home state to make the long distance move. Don't be fooled by how responsive they are when you book, my agent Tyler was super helpful while booking but once you book with them they will only allow you to leave a voicemail for their dispatch department to get an update. In the last 18 days, I have left 21 messages for their dispatch department and have yet to receive a phone call back. I was also promised by one of the mangers, Franco, that he would personally update me. I have now left 10+ messages for him with the reception and he has yet to call me back for 15 days. Also be aware that often their phone number goes straight to voicemail, I have called over 100 times to get through a handful of times and I have only been allowed to leave a message for someone to call me back with reception. I would HIGHLY caution anyone from booking with them unless you don't want your items for over a month. They don't tell you while booking but they can legally hold your stuff for up to 21 BUSINESS days, so you may be waiting over a month for your items to arrive from your first day of deliver. I highly regret booking with this company and now wish I had choose to drive a Uhaul or hired a different company. Ill keep updating my reviews but please don't be fooled by the sales department like I was!

I had hired Gold Standard Relocation to move my stuff from Columbus, Oh to San Antonio, Tx They then hire a 3rd party company to do the actual moving. So they hired this horrible company "My Chicago" They picked up my stuff Aug 3rd and was to be delivered by Aug 27th. Now its Oct 22nd and my stuff is MIA, missing, stolen, whatever you want to call it. My whole life was put in this company's hands and it's now gone. It's very upsetting to know you guys hire people who steal everything from a mother and her child. And also take her money. I even tipped the 2 guys that picked it up, because they informed me the company doesn't pay them well and I should pretty much feel bad for them because they are moving my stuff. I'm so frustrated at this point. Don't ever use this company, I hope Gold Standard no longer uses this company so nobody else has to go through what I'm going through

I created a contract back in early August and was told I would be informed on 9/1/18 of my official move out date (either 9/14/18 or 9/15/18 as well as a promised delivery date of 9/20/18) On 9/1/18 I did not hear from the company so I called to follow up, they told me I would need to pay extra for that and I would have a window of 9/14 or 9/15 and if I did not they would call me within 24-48 hours prior to the arrival of the movers. I did not want to pay anything additional so I decided to take the 24-48hr window. I tried calling the company of 9/13/18 about 15 times with no luck of getting ahold of anyone so I without notice I knew my move out date would be 9/15. That was NOT the case, I did not get a call one day prior to my move out day- instead I had one call an hour before my stuff was picked up. I hurried and was able to accommodate the mistake on your end with no complaints. I was promised a delivery date of 9/20 by Great Lake Van Lines which was not met. Per the signed document, I would receive $15/day after the promised date. Great Lakes then handed my belongings off to another company called MyChicago Moving. When speaking with MyChicagoMoving they let me know it can take up to 15 business days and I was told my stuff would arrive at 10/5/18 at the latest- I'm very upset at this point bc I'm living in an apartment without belongings when I was promised a delivery date of 9/20/18. Of course there were several unreturned emails and phone calls during this time- it has now been 2 weeks and no phone call or email from any company on where my stuff is. At this point I believe I'll never see my belongings again and the entire thing was a scam. On 10/4 I received a call to let me know my stuff left Chicago and was on the way to Phoenix and I would have my belongings on 10/6. 10/6, 10/7 and 10/8 go by with no update. No returned phone calls or emails. 10/9 my stuff finally arrives! I was elated to have my belongings and most of my stuff was not damaged but I did have a shattered floor length mirror. I'm still waiting for the 'insurance' provided to kick in. Also we'll see if anything happens about THEM being late.

This place is an absolute SCAM. They have multiple names. I knew them as Great Lakes Van Lines, but their DOT number has them listed as My Chicago Moving OR All around Van Lines. Its no wonder they have changed names so many times. I wont go over the nauseating details of thier failings since there are several reviews below that say the same thing. Basically they didn't show up on move day and were impossible to get a hold of. I've never been treated like this from any company. DO NOT go with this company. DO NOT beleive anything the sales department tells you. They are all over it when trying to make the sale and then they are a no show. They cost me an extra $3500 in moving expense for emergency moving arrangements. If anyone wants to join me in taking them to small claims court for breach of contract lets do this. AVOID.

PSA: After a very smooth sales experience, everything goes downhill. These guys do not reply to any communications, they don't tell you when your stuff will show up (despite it being well past our "delivery window"), and they generally act like it's your privilege to be paying them for their "service". I'd find a different set of movers if I were you.

This moving company has very poor performance. I strongly recommend that you avoid them to save yourself a lot of hassles

This company does not deserve 1 star for service, because they failed to show even a basic level of competency for the moving job I hired them for. Be warned, this company will absolutely fleece you AND break your things. They were subcontracted for my move under Madison Van Lines, who originally provided my moving quote. First red flag was nobody telling me that it wasn't Madison Van Lines who was performing my move. On the day of pickup, I was told I needed to pay an extra $300 to "expedite" my move. This was to "guarantee" delivery on my move in date the following week. Because I was moving into a high rise building unit, which required elevator reservation, making this delivery window was vital for me, so I wound up paying it. This company failed to make the move in window (mover was 4+ hours late) following my payment, resulting in my waiting another 2 WEEKS to receive my things. They discounted me a mere $150 for my inconvenience, for a close to $2,000 move. Upon delivery, it became apparent they had broken several of my pieces of furniture, including a shelving unit, TV stand, and bookcase. They LOST pieces of my bed frame, which required replacement from the manufacturer. Literally lost the pieces of my bed from the move. Utterly ridiculous. When I filed a claim for damages, I was pointed to an external third party company who handles their claims, without so much as a single word of apology from the moving company. They obviously get so many claims, this must be standard practice for them. This company is horrible and deserves to be shut down, save your time, money, patience, and sanity and do not hire them for even the most basic move.
