“I'm feeling confident now, because when someone asks me, "Do you know where I can get an iron lung?", I have Axman St. Paul saved in Maps.I love this store-they also have great stuff for making fauxbots, all kinds of DIY supplies for projects like wiring and plumbing, electronics, science lab glass (it's beautiful!) waterproof aprons, and Prom Queen sashes. Pay attention to every bin label and especially to any handmade signs. Whoever writes all these probably does stand-up at a swank comedy club after the store closes.Pack a lunch, stay all day. Do that a few times, and you may finally have (cumulatively) made it all the way around the store. Then you have to start at the beginning again, bc you know, new inventory...”

“This is the best fossil and rock store ever! Why? Because you can sign up to take lapidary classes in the shop in the back and learn how to cut and polish stones like agate and much more. The classes are well run with instruction on cutting, grinding and polishing, and they make it very accessible to the beginner.”

“Probably my fave card shop in the metro. It's very cozy and welcoming. Huge variety of everything. I especially like the sit down area where you have plenty of elbow room to go through stuff, without feeling pressed to buy something or rush through the process. They are also very reasonable in negotiating prices of used items.”

“I believe that Bill is as kind and honest as they come. My dad bought coins from him for years, and I can see why. He made selling a special collection a fun and educational experience and paid incredibly fair prices. When I got quotes from other dealers, they took an unimpressed tone, I suppose to try to buy at a lower price. Bill was different immediately because he was genuinely thrilled to see the coins. He got me involved in developing the price estimates, something I’ve always wanted to know how to do, and was completely transparent about his offer. Wandering around his shop is an experience in and of itself. My husband said, “There are so many things in here I never thought I’d see in my life.” There are a lot more details of the kindness Bill showed than I can include in this review, but I can’t say enough about the integrity of this business.”

“It's relocated but remains in the Texa-Tonka shopping center. I miss the old location but with the center's recent emphasis on food I can understand why the store moved. I find it an interesting place to wander around and wonder what some items are. There are barrels of stuff, shelves of things and all sorts of blinking lights, electronic parts, miscellaneous military surplus and mysterious things that I simply cannot identify. Quirky labels (some definitely tongue in cheek), and no shortage of humor. Offers for customers to weigh in on their own take of what somethings might be. Staff has always been helpful. Aisles overflowing with an ever changing selection. Plenty of free parking. Rock bottom prices and you might occasionally find just what you need. The Ax-Man exemplifies the classic aphorism that one person's trash is another's treasure.”

“Great shop, always looking for local Minnesota items when I visit the state. Born and raised in the Duluth area living in Maine. If I was driving back to Maine I would of got a neon piece, prices are very fair compared to east coast neon prices. Very happy with items purchased. “This store is no joke no scam AMAZING staff are very nice and talk with you, I've had some good conversations with em to they have really cool stuff to look at and you can play bored games, and lego bored games also they have a AC-130 and a Black Hawk Down moc and they have a HUGE ship it's is very big and cool they even have a scavenger hunt you can do to get a cool brickmainia sticker and so much stuff to look at and very cool sets too! But a lot of the stuff there is pricey but honestly it's cool enough just looking at it i have spent hours looking around and talking with the staff there and they don't JUST have there Costum sets they also have halo mega constux and bored games nerf guns lego accessories and stuff just overall a lot of stuff to look at it's a great experience almost like a vacation I Harley recommend this store and every thing I got from here was worth every penny I'm not kidding but if your reading this and HAVENT gone here YOU NEED TO RIGHT NOW or when you can this place is amazing”
“I never really understood why Michael’s don’t sell fabric that’s a part of all crafts kind of but not this place was nice. They got a young staff that I don’t think ever done any crafty very much but it’s a nice clean place.”
