I sent my truck to another transmission shop for programming, they didn't say anything about my harsh 1-2 upshift and at least try and fix it. I then sent my truck to Lakes Transmission and they diagnosed some valve body parts that failed and needed replacing. My transmission shifts normal now and I was pleased with the price. I will go here for my transmission needs in the future

Trust worthy! Fair price and super friendly! They treated me and my families vehicle transmission issues with care and respect. Having car issues is stressful, however, I’m thankful for all the great service we’ve received.

My car has been having some transmission issues that everyone seems to be confused by, so I was referred here. I made an appointment, meaning they were allowed to have my car all day long. I got there and explained the issue. He said “I need your car to do the problem on the test drive so I can scan it while it happens.” I inform him that my car is iffy and does the problem whenever it wants to so it may take a couple test drives, since he has the car all day anyway. He never wanted to take it for one test drive to see the problem because driving it 2 or 4 times was a problem. He scanned it in the lot and cleared the codes and told me to come back if the problem occurs again. Of course it would come back, it’s been doing it for months already. I come back and he scans again, no codes, and basically tells me I need to deal with it running bad and just keep pulling over when the problem happens. Tells me “Oh, it could be your transmission computer which is $1,400.” All that money for him to not even attempt to identify the problem and maybe that wouldn’t even fix it?!
Zero help what-so-ever. I felt like an inconvenience being there and always felt rushed out the door.
I’m gonna try Isanti Transmission instead. Wish me luck.
Update: Turns out the issue is that my second gear is going out. I’m sure if they would have simply test drove, they could have easily figured it out. They lost service instead.

I have called 3 x asking for my h3 hummer to be repaired. I had the transmission rebuilt in October and it still had issues. They said I would get a call back. DID NOT CALL ME BACK! Still under warranty called again this week. No call back!

Excellent service! The transmission on my 2008 Ford Edge started shifting very hard and not working right. I figured that I would need a new transmission the way it sounded. They were able to locate a short in a wire harness and repair it! Everything works great ?

I had them install a used transmission for me in my 05 titan pickup. I had a bad run after buying this truck bringing it to 2 different transmission shops to have them run diagnostics to tell me what was actually wrong. After figuring out it had a mechanical failure internally, cost wise I had to go with a used transmission. I contacted Lakes from a recommendation and they quoted me a very respectful rate to install it when other shops had told me they wouldn't even do the work. Now here's the quality of service they give.....they got my truck scheduled in in a week even though they were busy, and when I got there they looked at the replacement transmission and said it should be an easy swap. The next day they got into removing the old one and installing the replacement and thats when they noticed the junkyard had broken a mounting hole for the shift linkage. Instead of saying sorry we can't do it they figured out a work around and fixed the problem and didnt even charge extra for it. Oh but thats not all yet. Once they had it installed and hooked up they also figured out the junkyard had stripped out one of the cooler line connections and they couldn't connect one of the lines. They still didn't give up. They figured out a solution to try before calling the replacement transmission junk. After searching an entire day for the part to fix the problem they started the difficult process of repairing the threads. They could have at any time just said forget it but they didn't give up. He even worked on it over Easter weekend when they are closed and got it done so I had it by Monday. Its hard to find workmanship like that anymore and the fact that at the end all they charged me for was the original install quote, the fluid, and a few bucks for fixing the threads the junkyard messed up you can't beat that. If you want quality HONEST work and old school beliefs when it comes to helping customers out, take your vehicle to them. I cant thank them enough for what they did for me.
