“I had some aggravating bumper scars on my Chevy Volt from a parking-lot hit-and-run. After getting an estimate from a USAA-approved shop I took it in at the appointed dropoff time, only to be told that they weren’t qualified to work on plug-in cars—even though this work was nowhere near any high voltage. They referred me to another shop, which gave me an estimate (after a 3-day wait for an appointment). However, they didn’t seem interested in such a small job (and said they’d need the car for a week), so I passed on that one.After seeing the Apple Valley MN CARSTAR as another approved shop on USAA’s website, I called them. They got me in for an estimate right away ($300 less than the other two), and said they’d need the car for 3-4 days and would call with appointment options (predicted to be in a couple of weeks).The promised call came quickly; they said they had a cancellation and could get me in the next morning (a Tuesday). I brought it in, and they gave me a ride home, so I didn’t need to arrange that.The work was done by that Thursday afternoon, and the bumper looks like new again. (Plus, they returned the car cleaner than when I brought it in, inside and out.) Highly recommended; they’re now my “go-to” shop should I be unfortunate enough to need bodywork again.”

“After my suv was hit by a semi while I was at work end of September, I couldn't get an appointment through the dealership for over 2 weeks. And even that was just for the estimate. A separate appointment would then be made for a different date to start the repairs. So I was looking out 2 plus months. No complaints at all.The Collision Center was very busy, and I was told that some parts needed for the repairs were hard to locate due to supply chain issues. This unfortunately slowed the repair speed dramatically. Obviously this was not the collision center’s fault, and I was provided a courtesy vehicle while my vehicle was out of service.Would I go back for this type of service again? Absolutely.
