I just had a 5-Star customer service encounter with Sarah Schaekel, the Branch Manager at RCU Edina location . Despite a technical hang up due to a rain storm in the area, she got me what I needed to process an insurance check — saving me much hassle and an out-of-the-way journey to another branch. And she was so friendly! It was an old-school banking experience in the best definition of that term. ??

Repeated turnover at this location over the last two years puncutated by their most recent branch manager barely lasting a full year! Every other complaint is about service too! Judging from how tone-deaf these admin responses are to these general member concerns, maybe the smart employees knew better than to stay.

This credit union likes to illegally cease people's money. They Had re issued me 5 different cards in the last month because they put a fraud brick on my account every time I go to pay for something. Note i do not have any loans open any where. The same way this is happening to me is the same way it can happen to you. Be cautious and put your money else were. How is that every time I walk into your branch in Edina, your internet is down. I have to order my own checks when the person opening my account did not do their job and they tell you they will call you and never do. I have dealt with multiple managers and staff. Its like the kids are running the bank. you walk in and no one even says hello to you. What kind of a bank are you guys running?

Would recommend any other banking institution. Rates are bad. Customer service is terrible. Don’t even bother calling. Want to make a withdrawal? Better call the branch you’re going to before hand to make sure they have the funds. Oh you want to instead just transfer your money to an external account? Good luck. And you better believe they’re charging you to do that. Check BBB for other shady antics. I regret choosing this credit unionReply;This is not misinformation, this is personal experience over years of dealing with this organization. Don’t listen to the admins reply trying to invalidate a long time customers own experience. Another perfect example of their ethics.

I have 2 loans through royal credit union and have never had any issues until I noticed a late payment posted to my credit account. The account to my understanding was scheduled on auto payment from a non-Royal Union credit account, it was not. Long story short i asked to get a goodwill credit letter sent to the bureaus so that it does not affect my credit. I have been making three times the monthly payment every month, and got the cold shoulder. No late payments ever with them except for this one that was miss scheduling or miss understanding.I thought they would be more willing to work with an individual seeing as they are a smaller credit union…. They act like a larger bank.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terrible service. Had an appointment at 3pm, showed up at 2:35pm, staff told me they’ll see me in 15 minutes, and waited till 3:15pm and was never seen. I walked out. Was going to do business with them, but if this was the level of service they provide, then I’m glad we don’t do any business.

Been with RCU for a few years now. Today was the first time I have ever sat down and spoken with a represenative in person before. Best banking exspirnece I've ever had! Sarah Geroux was so kind, personable and knowledgeable. She helped me obtain a loan for my deam ride! Highly reccomend Royal Credit Union and Sarah.

Do not bother with this bank. It took nearly 10 attempts via secure messaging service or actually getting to talk to a person to lift limitations on my account so a debit card transaction would clear. No one should have to work that hard to get their banking done. 20 minutes on the phone going through security questions and answers before they could authorize a 3 day limit increase. This is a debit card transaction. The lack of effective and diligent customer service is ridiculous, the benefits are non-existant and the limitations they erroneously place on you are debilitating when you need to get people paid. I am a contractor and it is unacceptable to not get people paid when work needs to be done and they have provided absolutely no urgency to assist. I cannot even log into my account at this moment. Be forewarned.
