I would not recommend our experience with Wintrust. On the positive side, we closed on a house. On the downside, there were issues all through the process, and we were treated very poorly throughout the process by our Loan Officer. Our final docs arrived late, and Wintrust blamed the systems at the title company. Funny thing, the title company responded to our calls quickly, followed up, and noted they had no systems outages. Even at closing, Wintrust did not wire the full amount, so our closing took almost 2 hours while we waited for them to send the payments to the closer. During the closing documents were missing or incorrect, despite multiple requests to correct them over previous months.
Worst of all was the customer service, if you can call it that. We were met with an accusatory demeanor, and were made to feel any error by Wintrust (systems down, lack of response, incomplete response) was our fault. When we let it be known that we were unhappy with the experience our loan officer yelled at us, and acted like an entitled child when responding. Buying a house is stressful, made even worse by our experience with Wintrust. I would suggest looking elsewhere.
