“Had a new set of Tires installed and balanced. Then vehicle had problems with the tracking system software. This is due to gratuitous complexity of modern autos. A fundamental part of this is manufacturers being allowed to keep service software proprietary. There needs to be a change in law, to give owners absolute rights to this software and their designee. As is usual the vehicle dealership was not in anyway helpful, but obstructive. Anyhow the second expert Heartland called in was able to solve the problem, but for a significant fee. Due to what I suspect was the cost of his equipment and software, was likely justified. This hassle caused a delay of 24 hours to get the use of my vehicle back.
Heartland were perfect gentlemen about and as blindsided as I was by how this went down.
So beware! Getting a new set of tires is no longer a straightforward proposition with this newer generation of vehicles. And of course no warning of this in the handbook. The marketers I'm sure warned that it would have been bad for sales!”

“Tires were super expensive but now it's done & taken care of. Message for a return ride to pick up our car may not have been passed on OR it was passed on but then not followed through. We had to call again when "that requested ride" did not show up. Turns out it just did not get scheduled. They did follow through after that 2nd request & sent a ride. “It is easy to miss when using GPS. As you approach the destination, the GPS shows you have arrived, but the place is hidden behind an embarkment, and it appears like a dead end. Keep going, and you will see it right at where the street dead-ends.”

Luckily they weren't busy at the time and immediately Russ and Mike fit me in to the schedule, identified the issue and worked with me to resolve - all within 1 hour! “We love Costco! Great prices and value on most things, but beware that not EVERYTHING is lowest cost here. For strawberries here today, we found much lower prices at Hy-Vee. Blueberries were also lower cost at both Sam's and Hy-Vee. We shopped on very busy Saturday Christmas Eve Eve (per an old Friends episode, it's 2 days before Christmas). To our surprise, we were able to get what we needed within 15 minutes. They had many employees staffed and the store was operating so efficiently. When we compare Costco vs Sam's, they are so similar to each other, so if we're getting large quantities of things, I use both of their apps to compare prices before buying. At Costco, I prefer the prepared foods and their milk jugs more than Sam's. But I like Sam's baked goods and rotisserie chicken more than Costco. Like all warehouse bulk places, prices are usually lower but selection is hit or miss. I hate buying gas at this Costco because the lines are always too long for me and I hate waiting. I wish they would advertise their gas prices when you enter, so it's not a surprise after you've already waited in a long line.”

“I purchased six tires for my Sprinter Van. I rely heavily on professional advice as I don't have a lot of time to do independent research. The appointment was made and they were ready when I showed up. Total time was around an hour. 20000 miles later I have zero regrets.Recently, I had an odd need. I had a flat wheelbarrow tire and I tried several other tire shops thinking that Bauer's specialty was not going to be a one off wheel barrow tire. I called and was told to bring it in. Turns out the tire was not usable due to extreme weather checking. The service manager called me to tell me that he couldn't repair the existing tire, but he could get a new one. Five hours after I dropped the tire off, I had a new mounted tire!I'm very pleased with both experiences and will continue to use and refer Bauer Built for tire needs. Thank you to all at Bauer Built Eagan location for helping me out on two occasions. I look forward to my next opportunity to work with them.”

“We purchased this SUV about 2 weeks ago. My wife detected the brakes were sometime sticking while i did not notice that when I drove it. They gave the GMC a vehicle inspection and found rust on the rear rotors that could cause the intermittent gripping feeling of the brakes. They found the front brakes and shocks had been replaced previously, but not at the rear.
I was given a good estimate for the brakes, or the brakes and shocks. they said the shocks would not be more expensive if we delayed those until later, since they suggested it only because they were 12 years old and had 145,000 miles on them. We replaced the brakes today and will come back for the shocks in, likely within 1 year.”
