I am a regular customer at this establishment, frequenting it every few weeks since 2017. While I generally appreciate the staff's customer service, I had a concerning experience during a recent visit.
I attempted to purchase ginger beer, a non-age-restricted product. The cashier requested my identification, which I questioned as unnecessary. He stated it was required for scanning, citing a store policy. I inquired further about the need for scanning my ID, to which he responded it was for age verification.
I explained that I am not legally obligated to provide identification for a non-age-restricted product, especially when paying in cash. I clarified that I have been a loyal customer for years and have consistently provided ID when purchasing age-restricted items. Despite this, the employee insisted on scanning my ID, stating that he was not legally obligated to sell me the product.
This lack of customer service experience was a stark contrast to the typically excellent service provided by other staff members.
While I understand the need for age verification for certain products, this incident raises concerns about the store's policies and the training of some employees. I hope that management will address this issue to ensure a more consistent and positive customer experience for all patrons.

Great service. Good selection. But, it's the service that makes this what it is, a great local Liquor Store staffed by people who know their business and enjoy working with neophytes like me.

Okay store with most product lines one may want. My only pet peeve is they have a mandatory ID policy regardless of age. One could be 90 years old with wrinkles and gray hair hence this store with force ID that person to make sure he/she was over 21 years old to make a purchase. God forbid one forgets their ID card. I have been to other liquor stores in the area that don't ID me like this store does and I am OVER 60 years old, and look older than that by having a hard life in the military of 20 years. I stopped going there as I don't like their constant ID policy at first it was cute and funny, but I stopped laughing. In my opinion this store must have gotten busted by the state for selling alcohol to minors is why they are scared hence would ID even a corpse. Lol.

I understand that it costs them money to process credit cards. It also saves them money in time spent at the register, time spent handling the money, bank trips, balancing drawers, etc.An additional 4 percent on your bill is troublesome. I'm sure it's posted somewhere, but I didn't see it until I looked at my receipt. It should be more up front.Be very careful of the precedent you set. Taking credit cards, brings in customers. Charging those customers more, deters them from coming to your store.

I was just in after a rough day at work and was looking to grab a night cap. I was at the register with my purchases when a female employee accosts me and publicly shames me in front of her co-worker and other customers alike. I have not been that humiliated and mortified in some time. She starts accusing me of drinking in the parking lot days prior. I'm of course trying to rack my memory and the only time I have sat in that parking lot drinking anything was a Mnt.Dew I brought down from my apartment literally across the street while waiting for an Uber after I had missed the bus. She was treating me like some vagabond getting wasted in the parking lot when I would assume it would take her two months of income just to barely cover a month of my rent. I don't care if this was a case of mistaken identity or just she was flat out mistaken, but until she is let go or at the very least reprimanded, I would literally go all the way to Town Centre before I walk across the street to give this place my business again.

Well, there's the 70's decor. There's the overpricing. I put up with both 2 times a week for the last decade. On many occasions I saw the 5 ft dictator owner come in from his tacky Jaguar to dehuminize his employees. I put up with that too, because his employees are good. However, when I (a 50 year old regular) get carded because "he says we have to card everyone."...well liquor stores are a commodity. Enjoy closing.
