Do not bring a sensitive dog here. I brought our Shiba Inu mix here because they would not renew her flea/tick/heartworm medication without an “annual exam.” After trying to get me to agree with a number of unnecessary tests and treatments before renewing her prescription, they proceeded to an examination involving blood draws and injections. During this procedure, my dog freaked out. I did not see exactly what they did but I think it might have involved trying to pick her up by her belly which shebas hate. Their response was to try to muzzle my dog which did not go well. When that didn’t work, they then wanted to have me bring my dog back heavily sedated by medication which they were willing to sell me at additional cost. I am sorry but I will not be doing that to my dog for the convenience of these butchers.

Place is outrageous for prices most expensive vet i have encoutered yet they haveone in gonvick best cheapest and friendliest place this place jus to look at cat was 400$ when its like $40 in gonvick thats ridiculous

I came here to put my beloved dog down after his on going battle with cancer. I was visiting Detroit Lakes from Washington, D.C. to spend my dog’s final days at the lake house. I was very satisfied with the service provided at this animal hospital. The staff and vets were very friendly and accommodating. The whole process was smooth and peaceful. Thank you all again for making my dog’s final moments as comfortable as possible!

I would 100% recommend the clinic for pet care! The veterinary technicians and office staff were amazing!!! But…. I would NOT recommend their dermatologist that travels from the Cities once a month. She was an hr late to the appointment, she didn’t bring the immunotherapy that was promised for this appointment (blaming her error on her technician), she did not like it that I had a difference of opinion on some of MY dogs treatment plan, and she was very abrasive the two times my dog has had appointments with her! The whole reason I went to the second appointment was to get the immunotherapy treatment because prior to going, I had already made an appointment with a different dermatologist because of my first experience with her.
