Always a great place, we take our great dane there often and the workers are always so kind and they love our great dane! We've had a instance where our dog got hurt do to another dog and the workers did the most amazing job in contacting and taking care of the situation as best as they could.

Very friendly place. My lab goes wild when she knows she's going there. I love that I can watch her in their live webcams.

Great people, great care.I occasionally picked up/dropped off my brother's dog for day care. Not only did Gracie love it there like a second home but the people were so friendly and caring. Enough to make a lasting impression on me. 10/10

OWNER TREATS CUSTOMERS LIKE TRASHWe have been taking our dog here for both occasional daycare and grooming since 2022. We scheduled a 2:30pm grooming session for last week. At 1:11pm we received a voicemail that we were late and would miss our appointment now. I called back at 1:41pm stating how I was confused about how we could be late for a 2:30pm appointment, the person on the phone told me policy is to have larger dogs arrive early so the groomer has enough time. I told her this had not been communicated when we made the appointment, but no matter, we can just reschedule the groom for a different day. We rescheduled the groom for early Feb (once we returned from vacation) and that was the end of the conversation. That same day at 7:30pm we were randomly charged $56 by Hound Around Resort. I called the next morning to inquire about the charge. I was told that this was a charge due to the no call no show for his groom the day before. I explained the situation, and miss-understanding, and asked for the charge to be credited to the total we would be paying for his future groom, already on the books. The person on the phone did not have the power to make that decision and needed to check with the manager. She called me back a little while later and told me the owner herself refused to credit the charge. This is a horrible way to go about dealing with reoccurring customers, and they have now lost our business for the life of our current and future pets.

Pretty nice. We’ve had our Standard Poodle there maybe a dozen times over the course of a year for daycare. He loves going. Comes home happy and tired which gives us a break. Love the webcams! I’ve worked in a few boarding places over the years and am comfortable leaving him here. One drawback is the tiny entry area. Be prepared to wait outside if there are others picking up/dropping off.

I will never be bringing my dogs back here, 2 years ago we brought our dogs here and my one came home with a huge scab on his back and they tried to tell us it was there before which it wasn’t because I know my dogs. We decided to give them one more try and after our recent visit we won’t be back, I watched the cameras constantly and would always see the people in the daycare/ boarding group plays grab the dogs by the collars that they put on them and would yank them so hard that their front feet would come off of the ground, or they would drag them around by the collars I called multiple times and nothing was done about it. It just disgusts me that they would allow that. And the fact that they have leashes but don’t use them. The grooming girls are great but that’s about all I can say positive for this place.

We weren't a fan. And we love our dog so will not be sending her back there.1. Doesn't appear to be a limit on how many dogs they take for the day. I know this because the few times I've called, they don't check they're schedule to see if they have availability like other resorts. They accept the reservation right away.2. They just set the dogs free in the back to run. When watching their cameras you can definitely see a pack mentality going, you better hope there are no aggressive dogs.I've read reviews of dogs being bitten with no consequence.3. I think there is a community water bowl ?. What better way to spread bacteria?

We were good going in. Easy check in. No problems there which is why I gave 2 stars. Issues came for pickup. They could not locate my dog, kept asking me to look on the screen. He was not on there, had several different people looking for him, having me re-explain his body size and markings. One actually asked me if I was sure he wasn't a smaller dog lol yes I'm sure I didn't misconstrue his 70lb potato figure. Truly you couldn’t miss him, he had at drop off a lion themed cone of shame. Also kept showing me someone else’s leash and someone else’s dog bowl/food on the side of the wall for pickup. It took a solid 20mns to locate my dog to which his cone was removed so his paws and ears were all inflamed, broken skin, scabs. I was fuming as it was not their place to remove his cone but what can you do when the damage is already done. Turns out he was in his kennel per one of the staff coming forward with him… I thought that odd, wouldn’t that be the first place to look? Chars food bowl was never recovered, however I get did get his cone and leash back which was brought in a plastic bag they had somewhere behind the desk. The return was just a mess and I learned that Char doesn’t have access outside his kennel to go potty between 9pm - 7am being an older pup, haven’t been back since.

Hound Around is our 2nd family when it comes to care of our fur-baby. We have relied on their boarding and day care services countless times over the last 3 years...would not go anywhere else!

Unethical business practices (including no male staff with the exception of the owner's husband) due to allowing dogs with history of aggressiveness towards males. Absurd rates for the services provided. Baths, nail trims and other services that are usually offered with long-stay bookings are all "add on" options and are costly. There are no overnight staff and dogs are kenneled for eight plus hours. Having boarded my dog at another facility in Burnsville (for long term boarding during vacation trips), the rates Hound Around in comparison to other facilities that offer 24/7 staff, complementary grooming and additional perks are unreasonable. If you ever pass the business on highway 61; their obnoxious advertising sign consistently displays "NOW HIRING" because they cannot retain employees. Having personal connections to both current and former employees (I did not work there) I assure you they are not compensated well, are advised to underreport incidents between dogs (injuries/illness/aggression) and are treated poorly by management (the owner). There are not many options in the Cottage Grove area for boarding, but given the conditions at Hound Around; I'd recommend hiring someone privately as it would be less expensive and likely receiving more attention and care than paying for subpar care for a heavy, profit driven establishment.

This is not a place you want to leave your precious animals. They are unkind, predatory, and treat clients and staff poorly. Dogs are not safe in their care. Very shady owners. Please instead look at any of the more reputable boarding facilities in the Twin Cities.

Owners simply turn off Facebook reviews to try and hide when things happen. No hiding Google reviews though! Too bad they let a little dog get shook to death though. I would rethink using this facility.Edit: only to further prove my point, some woman sought me out on Facebook to harass me about this review apparently. She started off by basically calling me stupid. Reviews are turned off on Facebook but not here, though they can't argue here. How productive of them. Had she approached me differently, I might've heard her out vs just blocking her.
