Poor experience. Item was shown “in stock” online. Had 2 small children with me. Found spot on wall where item should have been. Waited for associate. Made eye contact with 3/4 who saw me waiting in same spot for over 15 minutes with small children and still offered no help. Finally I sought out an associate who then went and stared at the spot it should be. Another female associate, who I can confidently say was the least helpful tool store employee I have ever encountered, finally went to check stock in back. After 30 minutes in store, I was informed that maybe they sold it yesterday. I Was planning on making a few hundred dollar purchase. Every other Ace I have been to has associates asking to help you within 30 seconds of entering; I came to this store at the recommendation of another Ace. Poor customer service is why smaller stores will continue to lose to large tool stores who do push a lot of emphasis and training on customer interaction. I will not be back to this store

I love Ace as always friendly and helpful but not today. With four employees in the store walking by the aisle I was standing in multiple times, absolutely no one approached me. They were busy talking to each other, and ironically, the two women by the door were complaining about somebody else being 15 minutes late to an event. As I walked by them, they both looked at me and watched me walk out the door. I hope the chatting was worth losing a customer that was planning on buying some tools.This store has always had helpful staff in the past, but today was a wasted trip for me.

Stopped in to get some supplies on a Sunday and was overwhelmed by blasting Rap music throughout the store. I love to linger and browse in hardware stores, but couldn't wait to get out of there!! I know it's tough to find help, but the brick and mortar demographic for hardware stores are OLD PEOPLE!

Always lives up to "your helpful hardware folks!" motto! The employees are always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Ace also has items that are hard to find at other big box home improvement stores. If you need smaller bundles of electrical wire, Ace is definitely your place!

I go here frequently even though they are further from my house than Menards, but I try to support the little guy… not anymore. I went in looking for a plumbing fitting and Lauren talked to me in the rudest most condescending way. I asked if they had the fitting I needed and she said they might but it would “look different”. I said that was fine. When we found it the fitting was in brass, which was fine, but the screw on part did not twist. I said I needed it to twist and she said in the rudest way possible “I told you it was going to be different”. I felt like she was talking down to me and treating me like a dog that had just peed on the rug. This will be my last trip to Burggraf’s ace hardware. Congratulations Lauren, you just cost your store a faithful customer!

My husband went to the Cottage Grove MN location to get some PVC pipe and needed it cut to a certain length. When he asked to have it cut the high school boys behind the counter were stumped and didn't know how to work the saw. My husband gladly offered to help them by teaching them how to use the saw. after a crash course in using the saw the pipe was successfully cut to the length he needed and he proceeded to the checkout counter. when checking out he was greeted with your manager Carrie. he merely mentioned that he helped the young men in a training course on how to use the saw. she replied rudly to him that he shouldn't be doing their job and she got on the microphone and rudely yelled at the employees right in front of him!! she proceeded to tell my husband how "out of line he was to do that" and how incompetent the staff was!! in my opinion this is not only bad customer service, but all around bad management and poorly training from your managemnt. Ace is very close to our home and we frequently shop there because it's close and easy. after todays experience we will make the drive to Menards or Fleet Farm. you have lost very frequent customers from your very rude manager Carrie. I have been in customer service for 35 years and I would never treat a customer in this way!! In my opinion she should find another source of employment!!!SincerelyMelanie Tweet651 357 7944

I needed assistance in removing a small screw. I knew I could count on the WONDERFUL staff at Ace. They also had the necessary replacements. As I was waiting for them to remove it, 2 additional employees asked if they could be of assistance. This place has well trained, helpful, friendly staff!!
