“I really can't say enough good things about this place. Their selection is impeccable and ever-changing. Each weekend they are open it's like an entirely new store! I've made many purchases: a sculpture, a vintage painting, a variety of woven swedish textiles (amazing textiles always btw), danish candlesticks, and even a large teak 9 drawer dresser. They delivered the dresser at no-charge, and even carried up my staircase to its new home on the second story. These people are so kind, and you can tell they put a lot of heart into their shop. Their prices are very fair as well, especially given the quality of goods they have in their selection.”

“We were referred to this shop by a family member who had been before and we were so impressed! We scheduled a 90 minute couples massage, and arrived a little early to look around first. Street parking was quick and easy. Our massage therapists were jace and henrietta, both wonderful, polite, and skilled. The few sentences of guided meditation during the massage helped us stay in the present and the snacks and tea served afterwards were a great addition to help us wake back up! We were so surprised with the oils that came with the package that we purchased and everyone was so kind. The cute pup made our day! Such a sweetie. Thanks again for the wonderful experience!”

“We went the weekend they opened in December. Every booth was different. Quite a great selection and good prices. We got a vintage ceramic Santa, love it! They are now closed for 2 months, then they will open for a few days. I like it. They get all new merchandise from different people, each having their own space to set up. You never know what you will find. We're going back!”

If that is not enough, Mostafa greets you as a friend with sincere hospitality- offers Moroccan tea for all who linger and you should. Over the years, I have purchased ornate stamped red purse and wallet purse, vibrant cotton throw, leather sandals with carpet inlay, colorful geometric rug and I generally am not a shopper! All of my purchases I enjoy everyday- even wear sandals in the house in winter. Mostafa has such incredible connections to friends and family who make these beautiful handmade pieces with love and soul in Morocco. Please help the Moroccan artisans who may have been affected by the earthquake and consider stopping by and shopping at Dar Medina. “This is such a cool little shop! They have the best seasonal gadgets and decorations and lots of other cute Knick knacks (which are not usually my thing) and other items that make the best gifts. They have the best Montessori style toys and the cutest blankets and keepsakes. The one major negative is that it is quite pricy, which is why I do more browsing than shopping! However, if you need a unique, quality gift, this is a great place to look!!”
“Based on gift delivery only: My friend sent me some adorable Mexican tin ornaments that the store shipped to me, wrapped cutely and safely first class mail in a bubble mailer with the price crossed off the receipt and a nice note from my friend so I didn't have to wonder who sent it. I think the store might be closed right now due to Covid, but if they are handling all their gifts the way they handled mine, this is a great place to consider your holiday or other shopping for friends who like fun, cute Mexican folk art!”
